It seemed that the more and more students heard it, the louder it became. The more insistent the dragging noise, the heavier the thing under the floorboards. No matter what end of the room you were on, no matter how many or how few people were around, there was something moving under their feet. Digging, twisting, and, as the wooden sound became more hollow, hissing-
Whatever it was, it was getting closer. The vibrations could now be felt under feet, claws, paws, hooves, and even desk chairs.
One single claw broke through the floorboards under Rojo, and then ---

With a small click, the door swung open.
The teacher who entered was one only infrequently seen on campus. Tall and pale, dressed in reds, blacks, and various tools of his trade, Professor Walker entered and silently walked to the center of the chalkboard. Behind him, a long, thin nose poked the room. Nostrils the size of mugs flared open, and a pink tongue flicked across the room towards the professor. He batted it away with ease and picked up the chalk.
WELCOME CLASS was crossed out and became "Monstrobiology and Creature Management", while the owner of the nose began squeezing into the room. Huge claws clicked against the floor. It could have been a pangolin, long and plated, with little (fist sized) beady eyes and semi-translucent icy scales, the gi-ant eater's nose threatened the entire first row of the classroom as it swung around, sniffing. The tag on one ear marked it as a creature from the Scarefari.

Kamakura was late wandering into the strange classroom. Being punctual was important to him, so to say the least he'd been embarrassed. Looking around for a good spot to sit in, the nekomata zoomed in on a great sitting place near the back. He preferred keeping to himself, his gaze moved around the classroom recognizing a few faces offhand. Debating if he should say anything he noticed one of the faces in particular. To the nightmare ghoul Ada he actually stopped to wave, she had been one of the reasons he'd even enjoyed the festival several weeks ago.
He actually had enjoyed her company, so she at least earned a proper greeting."Hey." he added as he passed her. To Hollandaise, he also greeted the plant ghoul with a nod and a wave and similar hello. "Oh, so you ended up enrolled after all." Kamakura stated matter of factually, recalling she'd wanted to enroll. He'd have said more if he wasn't already sheepish about being one of the last to walk in.
Yet it was a weird noise that now held his attention in the most unsettling of manners. "What..even is that.." he muttered moodily under his breath, tail flicking. It was the sound caught his attention first upon entering, causing him to shiver and nervously look down at the very floor he was walking on. It made him very quickly slid into an unoccupied seat. Pulling out a notepad and pen to write with from his back, he began idly doodling on the paper and keeping an eye on the desk at the front of the room and the poorly written words. The catboil rubbed at one of his ears feeling more than a bit distracted. He sighed, leaning back in his seat.
He didn't have much time to sit and wonder. A teacher (he assumed at least) had entered. Setting his pen down, Kama's ears perked up as he watched the other write across the chalkboard before briefly scribbling down the title of the class as indicated waiting patiently.
Chrystalix :'D a little late but hi! <3

"Thanks, Damien. Appreciate the vote of confidence." The Nightmare would have flashed him a grin, but she was still terribly unnerved by whatever was going on beneath them. Ada accepted the ear buds, though she wasn't sure they'd fit in her long ears, debating just stuffing them in there anyway. She was starting to not feel safe sitting there, glancing to a dark-haired canine that joined them. "Hey--"
But then the noise lulled an the teacher walked in, earning a slow lift of brow from Ada. She watched him move and was positively delighted when a rather impressively nostriled creature followed shortly behind, the droning forgotten in favor of intrigue. Reaching out, she gingerly pet the pink-haired boil on the knee. "Please, stay, join us! I need to get your name after this, anyway." She hoped that didn't sound ominous. It was just a demon thing.
The equine ghoul chuckled, attention snagged as a familiar voice greeted her. Ears upright, she grinned toothily and all but crawled over the desk she was seated at, draping over the feline's shoulder and putting the chocolate-drizzled biscuit she'd been holding into his hand instead. "Smile, Kamakura! That scowl will be the death of me." Ada gave him a playful smile, retreating to her seat and looking back towards Zar with a 'are you coming?' lilt of her brows before settling her attention wholly on the teacher.
Monstrobiology and Creature Management. Her parents would be kicking down doors with rage if they knew she was in such a class. Grinning, she eagerly watched the professor and his remarkable 'pet,' tail swishing against her chair.

Uru glanced at the treat briefly before withdrawing his hands from his pocket, plucking the half-biscuit from Damien's hand. Giving it a tentative sniff, he popped it into his mouth with no other hesitation but a slight shrug. Eating things given by Damien had became second nature at this point; if it was too sweet, he'd run it off the next day. If it made him sick, he'd suck it up and deal with it. If it made him so utterly sick that he was bedridden, which hasn't happened yet, then it would Damien's issue to deal with. "Buttons have flavors, plastic, wood, metal. Whatever they are made of. If you are going to argue that those aren't flavors of buttons but the materials they are made of, then I'd say go eat a button and find out what they do taste like."
He had to admit, the boil who was pulling so many knick-knacks out of his pocket was interesting. If only his scarf had similar properties last year...
Uru's brows knitted together as he glared at the sound, his head tilting toward it as it traversed beneath them. Whatever it was, it was already upon them when the door swung open, his attention immediately snapping to the Professor that had entered the room. Who was he!? The scent was completely foreign to him, never among the authoritative figures was this among them.
"Great..." he muttered.

When the equine ghoul was all but climbing over her desk and coming closer to him he forced himself to sit still and not crawl out of his skin. The physical contact was stretching it, earning her a weird stare. Kamakura tilted his head at the offered chocolate biscuit looking between her and the food. He had woken up late, and hadn't eaten..her offer wasn't entirely terrible all in all. While he was surprised by her generosity, he relented. "Thanks..and very funny Ada." The nekomata retorted chuckling at her request, rolling his eyes shrugging at her teasing. However, he didn't reject the item and for her efforts earned the smallest hint of a smile. Ada seemed to have a knack for invading his comforting levels in situations much to his dismay. The nekomata wasn’t entirely certain if that bothered him one way or another, but he didn’t think less of her for it regardless.
Despite his flat tone and dismissive attitude the demon didn't move away from her. While he wasn't the most talkive of sorts he could at least listen. His ears rolled forward as he listened to the different students chat among themselves and he finished munching on what had been offered to him. His mood had notable improved with the offering and would have to find a way to thank her later. His tail twitched as he moved his leg around the leg of the chair, adjusting his sitting position so he’d be comfortable.
Every now and then his glance would flicker to the clock wondering impatiently when the class session would actually begin. Drumming his fingers idly on the desk he scowled at nothing in particular. Surely this wouldn’t be some social chit chat gathering. Kamakura wasn’t certain, but he was willing to atleast stick around in the meanwhile.
His attention flickered back for the now exclusively to the teacher and his pet. Kama was found of creatures of all sorts and varieties..this class was one he was now looking forward too. It was still his first actual attended class in a group setting since enrolling. While that wasn't particularly impressive, it certainly had to count for something. With that in mind he dragged out a pad and paper to use should there be a reason to take notes.
For a moment he began to wander, thinking more about what he’d do after class was over. Rubbing the back of his neck, he leaned back in his chair. Lately he’d been trying to be more active in school, although paying attention wasn’t always exactly the easiest. Setting his head down on his desk he closed his eyes and let his mind wander. The first thing on his agenda was going minipet hunting after all his homework was complete. His collection was still lacking, and he wished to change that.

Damien settled into a confortable silence with Ada, slinking his arm behind his chair, getting confortable, even with the madness growing under their various forms of legs. The floor rumbled under his boots, like an angry bass drum vibrating, resonating within himself and his core on its way up, only to pour out from his hairs, quivering with each pulse.
It was concerning when the appendage decided to sprout from the ground, the lazy tail stopped its game of tag with the Demon Uru's tail and stared at the professor and their "i dont care if the ground takes you" stare.
In which it was time to chew on the half a cookie from the boil with the magic fingers. That and to rip off a button from the demon hellhound. "well you did tell me to try one, should be careful with your words." sly and grinning, he tried to roll the item around over his knuckles and failed. "You make it look so easy, boil whos name i dont know."
