It wasn't until the building came into view, that John questioned their faith."Why worship a god of death?" Wee Jas was like Baccob, in that both were gods of magic. And there were many gods of law, yet they picked one her of all possible divines to worship.

"That was just asking for zombies." Pyrrha agreed.

The old mans nods understandingly. "True, she is an odd one to worship. It started shortly after the village was founded, mining is brutally dangerous even at the best of times. Well, according to the stories we weren't having very good times at all when the young priest showed up. Mine had collapsed and trapped twenty good men underground." The old man leans on a nearby tree to rest while he spins his tale. "Man of the cloth that he was, when he saw the trouble he begged to help. He was told that there were no more shovels, so you know what this man did? He got on his hands and knees to help dig them out. Didn't even care about his fancy clothes or keeping his hands clean. He cared about the trapped men. They managed to dig them out three days later, all banged up and starved. That priest, he prayed over them and healed 'em up, just like that. Then he cared for the dead, cleaned 'em up, laid them out nicely for their families, then put them to rest. After that, well, he was one of us. We built his temple and thank Wee Jas for sending him to us that day. None of the other gods cared a whit about our community, never really have. But Wee Jas, she was different, and we owe her and her priest. So we pray and give thanks."

[Just a heads up, I will be driving all day tomorrow (8 hours *bleh*) so I won't be able to post again until the evening. I will try to check before I leave in the morning, but I don't know if I'll have enough time.]

The sound of voices coming down the trail to the temple drifted to Lydia's dusky, pointed ears. Instinctively, she shifted her body out of sight in the tree she was residing in. Up until this point, she had been taking a light nap. She found the light of day too harsh on her eyes and preferred sleeping during that timeā€”plus she needed her rest after the events of the previous night.

Lydia chanced a quick glance around the trunk of the tree to see who was approaching down the road. Her eyes easily pierced through the coming gloom of dusk. There were four of them, which matched the voices she had counted. All of them looked human with the exception of the one shorter fellow. One of the men was significantly older than the rest and he was the only one unarmed. Judging the other three's appearances, they were being brought here by the old man to fight the undead. Lydia smiled to herself. This could work to her advantage. She desperately wanted back into the catacombs but she lacked the power to drive the undead off by herself. If she could team up with these adventurers, they could help her clear a path to her goal.

First things first: Lydia would have to wait for the old man to leave. He would be far too suspicious and set in his ways to even begin to talk to her. The adventurers would probably be a different story, though. On average they tended to be a little more understanding and open to new ideas. She would just have to convince them not to kill her on sight. It was a distinct problem of the surface world, but not too different from her place of birth. People were just more direct about it here. After that, she could perhaps persuade them to take her along.

"I would have loved to meet this priest." Pyrrha said before turning serious. "Alright you should return to the village. We will return once we have either stopped this threat or learned more about it"

(Spot 1)

Taking his pack off his back, John started to pull out a few items. First was a crossbow which he proceeded to load quickly, before setting it on the ground. Next was a lantern and tindertwig. And finally a few pieces of chalk, which where placed into his pocket, before striking the tindertwig and lighting the lantern.

"My only thought are not to endanger the town's people any more. Besides, sealing the front door, setting the temple ablaze, then dealing with the aftermath. Any ideas?"

"I say we enter and slay anything that moves." Pyrrha suggested.

John shouldn't have expected more, from the woman in armor; but he he thought she would have given a better answer. Than simple brute force, then again his would appear the most cowardly.

"Well, if we are going into hell. I would like to know the names of the poor souls I travel with. I am John Dalmar, student of the divine."

Threan looks around for a few moments getting the general idea of the surroundings before looking to the old man. "Are the priest amongst those taken? And do you know if they have a basement area?" Threan ask quietly as he reaches into his cloak with both hands for a moment. "And you want us to find out why it happened and stop it? What about the dead that are walking?" He asks in the same quiet tone, looking toward the old man and the others.

"And if..if...if..if there are children hiding within the temple? Should we umm. ki..ki..kill them too?" He asks Pyrrha, stuttering a bit and not making eye contact with her.

(Spot 10+6=16. Does he see the spider lady?)

"I doubt children would survive there long." Pyrrha said. "However if you find any that are alive escort them out. If they are undead show them no pause."

(Could you imagine if you asked about the children and Pyrrha said yes.)

((With a 16 I would say you would see a bit of movement out of the corner of your eye in one of the trees. It would not be clear what is was, perhaps a bird or squirrel but you definitely did see something move.))
