Like a ragdoll, Avari is tossed in to the center of the ring. With both men having something to prove, it definitely seemed like Marus was making his presence known at Mania.

Marcus stalks the smaller man, and finally seems ready to try to put him away for good. He raises his hand, a familiar sign as the crowd continues to boo. He waits for Avari to stand to once again attempt to grab him by the throat, this time intending to plant him with a chokeslam to put him away

Avari is dragged up to his feet again, his head spinning and his focus blurred. He next feels a large hand across his throat again as he's lifted in to the air..
The crowd all wait with baited breath.. as Avari's instincts come back to play, attempting to lock his arm around the back of Marcus' neck for a style of guillotine chokehold!

Marcus was sure he had this well in hand, until all of a sudden there's pressure around his neck as Avari counters into a guillotine chokehold. the pressure makes Marcus bend his back, but he doesn't go all the way down, though the moment the hold is locked in, a muffled cry of surprise is heard and those boos turn to cheers. The crowd may not have had a favorite going into the match but they seem to have chosen a side now

Holding on for dear life, Avari lets all of his weight hang on the neck of his larger opponent, hoping to wear down Marcus.
He gritted his teeth and cocked his head, looking out across the crowd, drawing in positive energy as they cheered him on!

Marcus begins to slump as the pressure is starting to get to him. He realizes he's starting to fade here, and though the fans might like to see it, he's not ready to do so. Desperately searching for a way out, he forces himself to straighten up and takes off at a run, attempting to ram Avari spine first into the turnbuckle

It was working, it really was!
The pressure was building and Avari could feel Marcus' power and energy dropping. He continued to squeeze further, ready to take this unexpected turn in momentum to a cool victory.
But Marcus shot off, running forward and .. oh ********, that hurt.
The turnbuckle was not Avari's friend as he collides with it, dropping the hold and landing on his feet, holding his back from the pain.

free again, Marcus stumbles back and reaches for his neck out of reflex. That hadn't been pleasant, but now he's angry. Marcus charges in again, attempting to splash Avari against the turnbuckle

Arching his back a little, Avari looks up to see Marcus running at him. As he jumps for a splash, Avari shifts across the ropes to dodge!

Marcus mistimed his attack here, and he pays for it, splashing only the turnbuckle. Again, Marcus stumbles back towards the center of the ring, this time having knocked the wind out of himself

This was his chance.
Avari runs at the opposite ropes, sprinting forward to attempt a devastating Spear to the abdomen of Marcus!

Marcus doesn't get the chance to recover here, as Avari explodes with a spear that takes the big man to the mat and leaves him flat on his back, much to the delight of the fans

The crowd popped hard as they all stood watching and waiting.
Avari rolls over and hooks the leg of Marcus for the count...

the crowd counts along with the referee, sure that Avari has gotten the win here.
one...two...
Marcus pops his shoulder off the mat, much to the fans dismay. Breathing may not be easy, but Marcus is still in the match
