Ah. Thats what I meant when I asked the question. Their hands never move. They're just holding it, perfectly normal, though pointed at the enemy, and yes, it shoots. Of its own accord, or so it seems.

What? I meant that I pay the most attention to the part that shoots when it arms.

The head of it, in other words? The tip? The vaguely leaf-shaped part? Yeah, I know. My point is, when that shoots, their hands do nothing. As in, they don't appear to pull any sort of trigger or thumb any sort of switch at all.

I always wanted a zat prop. I mean, I know it doesn't actually shoot and that it probably doesn't even make the noise, but they do move, and that would be so much fun to play with. whee

i know a while ago they sold some show props on ebay. for charity, mostly clothes and stuff like that there might have been weapons props. since i couldn't afford it i just mopped and didn't search

one of my on-line mates has one that moves, but it was fan created and i don;t know where he got it from. the sound effect kinda sucks though

Sound effects? Thats kinda lame. A silent one would be more fun. I remember getting Star Trek weapons when I was younger and the sound effects got really annoying after a while.

My father tells me that he once had an original Star Trek series phaser water pistol, but he left it in the car one day and it melted. eek
