yes, its just unusual, given that all the other Asgard have names like Thor, Hermiod, Freya, etc. No hard consonants like Kvasir.

Hmm. Maybe they just used the name. It'd make sense.

Is that stare in reference to the use of the name or to the character's behavior?

Use of the name. They can't give a loaded-with-significance name like that to a simple random character! Especially when one of the most significant parts of the plot -i.e. Th Go'auld- consistently steal the names of gods. Its careless, almost.

I'm pretty sure it came out of somebody thinking "Hey, that sounds cool."

Still her name makes a slight bit of sense with what she did in...what was the episode with the za'tarcs called?

Divide and Conquer, isn't it? Season four, episode five. Where Martouf dies, and before that, they think Jack or Carter may be Za'tarcs?

If Freya was goddess of love, then Tok'ra-host Freya's name makes sense. She basically hit on Jack.
