GM's notes: Kojiro: -1k0 earth/water. Denbe: -1k0 earth/void. Kagae: None Seichiro: -1k0 earth/void. Zanzen: -1k0 earth/water. Kyumi: -1k0 fire/void. Hisashi:None Miyako: None --------------------
@ Denbe's Fight:
23 - Denbe, Katana drawn, 15 damage (Hurt), Pinned Under Burning Rubble 11 - Sotan, Katana drawn, 26 damage (Injured), 1VP spent, Pinned Under Burning Rubble
Denbe would try to weigh his options, and decided that the quickest route to saving this woman would be to go through him! Kicking off the wall, he would slash fiercely with his blade... though the slash simply cut cleanly through the armor, but missed any flesh altogether! The ashigaru armor that he wore protected him, but now there was a huge gaping slash mark across the face of it.
"Now you DIE!" he called out, though his response was interrupted when the wall that Denbe kicked would buckle and creak loudly. A low rumbling would sound, and Sotan would look up.
"... you... stupid bast*KA-KROONCHkrnchkrkkssss*
Denbe, Sotan, and Peasant take 7 damage!
Though only a hut (and thus, only 2k1 damage), it was still a FLAMING hut. Sotan spent his turn trying to free himself from the debris, but was unable to.
Raw Strength roll of 10 vs TN 15+15, failure
Denbe, Sotan, and Peasant woman take 1 fire damage!
Denbe, you're buried and burning!
--------------------
@ Kagae's Fight:
22 - Akahito, Hankyu drawn, Location ??? 10 - Kagae, 13 damage, Hurt (+10), Kusarigama drawn 10 - Shogo, Bo drawn, Attack Stance
Kagae barrels through the walls like a true-blooded member of the Rhinoceros Clan, using his cover as further cover from arrows and bursting out the other side!
TN 25 to bring down the house! Effective +5 for each wall he goes through beyond the first, and I'm assuming 3 (front, one inside, and back). 9, failure! 21, failure! 19, failure!
Kagae manages to make it out the back without difficulty! Though, at this point, the house DENBE was in just collapsed on him, so perhaps it was as a result of Kagae's charge? Kagae, you are RIGHT THERE and see this happen!
"Master samurai!" the peasant calls out through the hut, rushing after Kagae. "Master samurai! I'm afraid you've forgotten something!" Rushing after Kagae, the peasant that had appealed for help suddenly took a massive swing with a bo staff, though he was a little over-eager to land the attack!
6 vs TN 20+5, miss!
The bandit with a bow would then fire upon Kagae once more, from a much closer range, but would deflect narrowly off of one of Kagae's shoulder pauldrons!
14 vs TN 20-5(unknown attacker), miss!
Kagae, you can make a TN 15 Perception/Investigation (Notice) since you know what you're looking for, now, or continue with a Raw Perception Roll if you have no Investigation!
You hear Machiko barking orders about clearing debris off of that collapsed building, but with all that timber that's become firewood, the fire's going a little more out of control!
--------------------
@ Kojiro's & Miyako's Fight:
32 - Kojiro, Katana drawn, Attack Stance 29 - Miyako, Tanto drawn, Attack Stance, 20' away 13 - Nakazo, Yari drawn, 22 damage, Attack Stance, Crippled 12 - Otojiro, No-Dachi drawn, Attack Stance X - Otsune, Masakari drawn, 52 damage, Out
Otsune was unarmored, and even with those raises, Kojiro found it easy to capitalize on her utter lack of defense (ie, TN 10)! With a fierce determination completely contrasting his otherwise over-endearing personality, he nearly disembowled the female bandit, and as she let out a pained huff, holding her gut, she would drop to one knee!
And, capitalizing on her weakened state, Miyako would fling a dagger at her, catching her in her exposed back. With a muted cry, the husky woman would drop to Kojiro's feet!
17 vs TN29+20-2 (Flanking) = FAIL
Nakazo would move to flank with his still healthy companion, though his shivving style could use a lot of work!
20 vs TN 29-2 (Flanking) = Miss!
Otojiro would growl deeply, "Stupid scumbag! Heh! I'll kill you BOTH for that! Kill you HARD! Heh!" With a fierce and wild slice, he made a rather skilled attempt at maiming Kojiro! Unfortunately, Kojiro was far too wily for the likes of these jokers!
Kojiro, Miyako, go!

The Hare had only been trying to maneuver around the bandit. Instead, however, the building protested loudly and for a moment, both combatants stopped. That sound, that really wasn't a good sound.
And then, the house came down.
Ducking out from beneath the largest of the debris tumbling down and squirming with all his Hare's speed, Denbe somehow, miraculously, managed not to be clobbered by the falling hut. Not necessarily to say it didn't wind up heavily on top of him, but the fast falling pieces at least he dodged... in favor of the slower moving ones.
The flames were another story.
Coughing and feeling his sweat go dry at the suddenly very serious proximity of the flames, the Hare forgot the bandit for the moment.
[Void Spent: Reduce damage by 10.] [2k2 Strength: 8 vs TN 15+3] (Assuming that stopping the damage doesn't eliminate the pinning.)

@ Denbe's Fight:
23 - Denbe, Katana drawn, 9 damage (Grazed +5), Pinned Under Burning Rubble 11 - Sotan, Katana drawn, 27 damage (Injured +15), 1VP spent, Pinned Under Burning Rubble
Whereas Sotan was kind of too busy getting buried, Denbe had found cover at the last moment. He suffered no damage from the falling pieces of wood, but he was now amidst a pile of tinder, and it was going up in flames! Struggle as he might, he was unable to free himself.
Denbe, Sotan, and Peasant woman take 1 fire damage!
6 vs TN 15+15, failure!
Denbe, STRUGGLE MOAR!
--------------------
@ Kagae's Fight:
22 - Akahito, Hankyu drawn, Location ??? 10 - Kagae, 15 damage, (Hurt +10), Kusarigama drawn 10 - Shogo, Bo drawn, Attack Stance
As Kagae would swing the sharpened end of the chain weapon at the bandit, Shogo would easily maneuver around it - the blow was far too clumsy to hit someone as nimble as him.
13 vs TN 20+5, miss!
Though the bandit's own attacks seemed to lack much punch, as the wooden staff he wielded would ping uselessly against Kagae's armor!
19 vs TN 20-5(unknown attacker), hit! ... 2 damage. stare
Though the archer would have better luck hitting, as an arrow would fly out from the darkness and graze an exposed bit of skin near Kagae's tricep, barely scratching the crab.
Kagae, another TN 15 perception roll, with a free raise this time!
You also overhear a few cries of distress, and what sounds like Machiko being angry!
--------------------
@ Kojiro's & Miyako's Fight:
32 - Kojiro, Katana drawn, Attack Stance 29 - Miyako, Tanto drawn, Attack Stance, 10' away 13 - Nakazo, 29 damage, (Out) 12 - Otojiro, Unarmed, Running Away Stance, 13 damage (Grazed +5) X - Otsune, 52 damage, (Out)
Kojiro would stand his ground, moving from the now-unconscious woman to the last healthy bandit. With a less crippling strike this time, he manages to score a clean slash against the man's arm, though not deep enough to incapacitate the limb.
Moving closer to the action, Miyako would fling her remaining dagger at the more injured bandit, catching him in the side with deftness and precision! He dropped his weapon, clutching at the hilt sticking out from beneath his ribs, but found he lacked the strength to remove it. Trauma came immediately thereafter and stole consciousness from him.
Two bandits down, one remains, and he's already injured! Otojiro had higher than average Fire, which means he had enough braincells to rub together to realize...
"... to Jigoku with this!" Throwing down his no-dachi, he turned and ran westward, away from the village. He wasn't particularly faster than any of you, but if you wanted to keep pace with him or chase him down, I will need contested Athletics checks! Otherwise, you two are free to act!
