Járngrímur believes strongly in the values of the great Kalona. He strives to live a long,
pure life, to seize power when he can take it, and to remind the world that the great Kalona is still here, is still
strong. He's incredibly proud to be what he is and has no desire to change his ways, and swears his loyalty to the great Kalona. He finds the fact that so few seem to remember the deity that released them and guides them disappointing, and hopes to convert others of his kind who have lost their way into believing again and devoting their lives to Him.
He has dedicated much of his time honing the powers that Kalona has blessed him with, practicing on small animals first and moving on to larger creatures, and eventually Soquili -- and other Kalona whom have lost their ways. He uses his power to strengthen the illnesses that lay in wait in traitorous Kalona -- especially those that have not practiced or have even forgotten they even obtain such power -- and warns them that they will become cursed if they do not return to the True ways of the Kalona. Sure enough, after his warning, if the Kalona refuses to listen to Járngrímur, his target will slowly become ill. Járngrímur continues to visit these sick Kalona, promising them that if they believe and devote themselves to the great Kalona again, they will be healed. If they still refuse to change, they will die for betraying their creator.
Járngrímur believes without a doubt that he was chosen to be the messenger of Kalona. He is not cruel in the sense that he does not kill for pleasure or for fun, or just to see someone else in pain -- but he
does kill. The great Kalona must be offered sacrifices, after all, and one
must eat. He's an efficient killer and prefers not to torture, killing cleanly and quickly, but what happens to the bodies after could not be considered as such as he prepares them for a sacrifice. He bathes in the blood of his offerings to receive Kalona's blessing, and believes doing so gives him strength and power that less devout Kalona do not have.
He views skinwalkers of all types a blight upon the world and betrayers of his Master. He believes they
escaped from where they belonged, and must be sent back to Kalona by way of their deaths. It is only Kalona who were given the blessing to walk these lands, and skinwalkers were destined to remain in the fiery pits, nothing more than mindless, blood-hungry servants to the Lord Kalona.
Járngrímur will gladly ally himself with other devout,
pure Kalona; to them he is kind -- for a Kalona -- and desires to help them find power at his side and remain on the True path that their Master has set out for them. These Kalona will never be turned away and will be greeted with open wings, for they follow the path of the Raven Mocker, and thus are the only respectable,
true Kalona in Járngrímur's eyes.
