Spinning a senbon kohane threw it as it sliced thru a thin wire ahead of them. As it was sliced a tree limb came crashing down on the area just ahead of them. "Like that" she said staring at it as she looked over to the others. "I am liking this place less and less" she said rubbing her shoulders lightly.

Zane smiled as Kiri went on ahead. It gave him time to work out a plan if she was followed.

Nowe rolled his eye's, "Right well, there's always that saying that hell has no fury like a woman. So, of course the girl is the best choice" He said playfully, walking up to beside Kiri. They had been working on their combination jutsu's for this moment here today. The day they would get to show off their skills as a team.
The procter gave the go ahead, and the gates into the forest were open. Nowe grinned, looking at his two fellow Gennin. "Show time."

Zane followed Nowe and Kiri through the gate, he was confident in his ability, he just worried about his teamwork skills.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... "Pfft. That saying is about a woman scorned." Kirinata told Nowe, sticking out her tongue. "But I'll catch up with you guys later." She told them, an eager smile on her face. "Let's see what's out there." She jumped into the trees, taking off running. She moved from tree to tree easily and quickly, dark hair streaming out behind her as she ran. Now the real test began..... The tiger that should be....isn't....

"So what do we do until she gets back?" Zane asked quietly. He wished there was something to do to keep busy just so he and Nowe could avoid the whole awkward silence thing.

Nowe thought about that for a moment, then shrugged. "I guess we just secure the area so no one gets the jump on us." he said, jumping to a tree limb. He looked around, his trained eye's looking for any threat. "She won't be gone to long"

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... True to Nowe's words, Kirinata was making good time. She paused in a branch, kneeling as she looked down on a group of genin, huddled and planning. Silently, she noted everything she could about the area then began backing away. Once she was far enough, she ran back to her teammates. She flipped and landed beside them, ready to defend against any attacks if she'd surprised them. "Good news guys. Found a team that's not too far ahead." She told them with a grin. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Tayu grimaced. "Yeah. Like that." She stopped and cocked her head incrementally to the side. She'd heard a twig snap somewhere above their heads. "Kita," she whispered. "Got it," the bird whispered back, then launched himself from her shoulder as if he were trying to catch a bug. "Guys," Tayu whispered to her teammates, just as urgently as she had to Kita, "We're being watched. And I don't mean proctors."
(just an fyi, it's not Kirinata, Nowe or Zane.)

Zane was about to reply when a hand reached up from under the ground and grabbed his ankle and dragged him under. Earth Style, Headhunter, this is going to be tough. Zane thought as he quickly made a sign for a Shadow Clone to pull him up. Unfortunately both ninja miscalculated and fell into a deep pit. "Good going jackoff, now we're both trapped." Zane said and drew his sword to fight off the ninja.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Kirinata jumped back as Zane began disappearing into the ground. Before she could even think about it, she had one fan in her hand. She approached the edge of the pit carefully, scowling at the ninja. She was carefully not to fall in though, not wanting to get herself stuck as well. "We've barely started Zane! How can you find trouble this early?" She called down, her voice teasing despite the scowl on her face. Really, she was fighting the urge to laugh. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Flipping out two senbon kohane ran her hand down to her pouch as she dipped her finger in a substance in it. Reaching it back she ran it across the senbon applying a paralytic poison on them as she simply spun them around. The motion she had made seemed to simply make it look like she was playing with her senbon. "Do you sense them close" she questioned tossing on of the senbon up into the air catching it on it's way back down.

"Save the smartass comments for when I get out." Zane said dryly and began fighting with the ninja who had dragged him down. Now while it wouldn't have been the best idea to use Fire Style down in that small chamber Zane was more than capable with just a sword. Fighting the guy off, knocking him out cold then using two kunai to make his way back up the shaft. "Now, feel free to laugh." Zane said as he lay on the ground breathing heavily.

Kikou got his already in the snake sign. If worse came to worse he could use a earth jutsu to protect them from a ambush.

Tayu nodded, making it seem as if she and Kohane were just having a conversation. Kita landed back on her shoulder and preened his wing. "Treetop. Behind and to your left, Tayu," he whispered. Tayu stroked the back of the bird's neck. "Good job." She pulled a kunai connected to a tightly rolled scroll from the pouch on her hip and threw it over her shoulder so it hit the trunk behind her. The scroll unfurled and burst into flames. The flames ran up the sap-filled grooves in the tree and into its branches, setting the leaves on fire.
