Underneath the grill that Wayne had been "born" from was a door next to the broken glass vat. Salieri kicked open the door seconds after Wayne had entered the grass in the familiar quad. "I think they split up. The sounds started to separate." Salieri rubbed her chin, then looked up at the vent and then down at the broken glass. She remembered the quad from before, and that vat wasn't broken.
"He probably went that way. Lemme help you into the vent," Salieri told Salem as she crouched down to give the Eevee a boost. Her pokemon rose an eyebrow at her trainer. Didn't they just heat that vent up to cooking temperatures? There was no way she was going in. "Ugh, fine. Just follow the sound of her in the vents. Don't lose her!"
The two split up, and Salem went back into the corridor she had just emerged from. Meanwhile, Sal crept quietly into the grass. She was getting close, but the grass was far too tall for her to see. She just needed to hear-
Wayne talking to himself. That was Wayne's voice, wasn't it? Who else was there? Salieri had only tracked one set of footsteps to this location. Nevertheless, she had found him. Using what remained of her energy, she sprinted and made a running leap through the grass towards his voice.
"TAG YOU'RE IT!!!" she shouted in midair above Wayne, preparing to land in an aerial tackle atop the lanky trainer that would crash them both to the ground. Yes it was reckless, but that was just how Salieri rolled.
****
Salem exited the door leading to the walkway in the room Petilil was in, opening it with her nose. She could have sworn she heard Petilil clamber through the vents into this room. The Eevee looked around for a vent, and spotted an open one above the walkway. Yep, Petilil was definitely still here.
Salem pounced down to one of the vats. The walkway only led down, so if Petilil was still on the stairs she could cut off the grass type. Her paws landed atop one of the activation buttons on the vats, causing the lid next to her to slowly creak open with a mechanical sound.
"VEE!" she yelped. The machinery had taken her off guard as she stumbled onto the floor. Regaining herself, she saw Petilil going for the exit. Now that she had made herself known, a sneak attack was out of the question.
Instead, Salem sprinted forwards with an Adaptability boosted Quick Attack, with the intent of tackling Petilil to the ground much like her trainer was trying to do with Wayne in order to tag her opponent.

Wayne's face dropped as he turned around. He couldn't move out of the way in time to avoid the-
WHAMF - - -
"Oww..." the trainer groaned from beneath Salieri, flat on his back with his face scrunched up, "Was that really necessary?"
***
Petilil heard -and felt- the vat juddering into life as its lid slid away. She skidded to a stop, looking around in horror as she found Salem bounding toward her. She remembered what Wayne told her. Think for herself, think for herself.
Luckily she was a simple pokémon, otherwise she might have started thinking about the logic behind telling someone to think for themself. And that would've earned her a Quick Attack to the shrubs.
Instead she shot back, performing the action that they'd practised so many times that it had become reflex; as Salem got in close, Petilil sprayed a cloud of Sleep Powder for the Eevee to run right into. By moving backward as she did it, she provided herself with the room for the powder to take effect without Salem's attack hitting.

[Location: Staiton city park]
Takamaru laying on his back watches as his pokemon play around the park, Iron Hide chases Lancer while Spike burrows around under ground. Takamaru watches Iron Hide chase Lancer, staring not at the pokemon but the crack in Aron's helm from his previous battle. Thanks to nurse joys healing The small iron pokemon was in no pain but the wound was still there and would take a rather long time to heal.
the young trainer removes his badge case and hold it above his face ".... is battling really worth it?" he whisperers to him self, staring at the Trio badge Aron and he worked so hard to get. his pokemon continue to chase each other around, smiles upon there faces as they go about.
Flashback...
"Takeru, sweaty" the young boy's mother calls "Mama, don't call me that!" he whines as he packs for his journey "but why not, that's the name me and your father gave you" she says softly as she begins to help him pack. "i know, but Takamaru sounds more...grown up" the young boys mother lets out a small laugh, "really? but its such a long name and people will have a hard time remembering, how bout' TK" she asks ".... i like it" he says finally after some thought.
"but now i want to talk to you about your journey, on this journey you'll face many tough trainers. and you may want to give up, but don't! Hold fast to your dreams. if your pokemon are injured, its not there fault, if the obey you then they will look towards you for guidance. so now, if they are injured its not there fault but yours. and if they do get hurt, then you both must become stronger...together" she finishes lovingly
the young boy nods at his mother words, "don't worry mama, ill become a great steel type trainer some day, and find father, i promise"
"oh i know you will sweaty, now go, and do your best!"
"i will Mama..." he trails off, "well, i guess ill be back!"
"and ill be waiting" she finishes as TK runs off towards the vessel that will take him half way across the world.
[....End of flash back]
"i will become stronger, for you and for my pokemon" he whispres as he begins to drift off to sleep

Cicero was ready for the attack, jumping backward just as the Pansear came at him. [He's not my trainer....] His body now glowed bright white, and he unleashed the fully charged Bide attack, firing a white beam at nearly point blank range. [He's my friend!] Dave smiled. "I leave the rest in your hands, Cicero, you can do it!" [This is for calling Dave an idiot!] Cicero sneezed, sending a jet of water into the air that came crashing down over the Pansear. "Huh?" Dave checked his pokedex; he had never seen Cicero perform that move.
Brine, a water type move. If the target has been worn down, this attack will hit with double the power.
He looked to his pokemon with confidence. Pansear was weak to water type moves, so Cicero might just be able to win this.

Of course, signalling your move so far ahead of time was foolish. Pansear knew that Cicero would be releasing Bide any second now. He just had to wait until that tell-tale moment and get in whatever attacks he could in the meantime. Abandoning the notion of another Flame Burst, he reacted quickly.
Bide manifested as a large burst of energy, akin to a cannon of light and force. Or in other words, if Cicero wanted to fire something with that much destructive power then it would have to brace itself lest it be blasted away; bracing itself meant digging its heels in and refusing to budge from its position.
The sight of that happening and the mounting of light was all Pansear was looking for. He quickly used "Dig!" to get under the Bide, his enhanced speed allowing him to pass below the cub pokémon while it was still launching its attack. With the bright light of the attack filling his field of vision, Cicero wouldn't be able to see Pansear making his move; even if David could see past the blinding light and alerted him, Pansear's speed meant it would be too late.
A split second later, the fire monkey burst from the ground behind Cicero, mouth open with fierce flames brewing at its base. The light of Bide was just fading as Cicero launched his Brine at empty space. Before the pokémon could turn his head down from aiming the attack into the air, Pansear spewed a giant, horrible flame of "Fire Blast!" A final attack to end this charade.

"Cicero!" Dave watched with horror as Cicero was knocked across the arena again. Damnit, he's not going to make it at this rate.... The Cubchoo struggled a bit as he got up. [You may be stronger than me, and more experienced than me, but I won't give up either!] Cicero created five more clones of himself, this time perfect replicas, and they all rushed in various directions.
((You can end it in the next move if you want sweatdrop ))

Salieri had Wayne pinned down on his back, on her knees with her legs straddling both of his sides as her face loomed over his. Her face was darkened by shadow slightly as her long hair fell on either side of her face towards Wayne's cheeks, but he would still be able to make out her cheerfully triumphant expression.
“I like to let myself get carried away,” she told him with a grin. She was out of breath, tired from the boosted Mega Drain from before. Now that the thrill of the game was over for her, Salieri’s rush was fading. The Battle Girl brushed her hair back behind her ears again as she got up. “That Mega Drain is a pretty strong attack, far as I know. It left me with a lot of fatigue. I didn’t think I’d be able to catch up.”
She put her hand on her chin in thought. “Well, I guess I was right about you guys splitting up. Ooooh, I bet Salem’s got Petilil pinned right now!” she exclaimed in excitement while extending a hand towards the floor for Wayne to pull him up.
****
At full speed, Salem couldn’t stop herself from dashing into the powder. It was a simple yet effective tactic, and the Eevee skidded to a halt right in front of Petilil.
“HaaaaCHOOOO!!!!” she sneezed, blowing powder everywhere while her eyelids began to droop. She twitched her nose as Petilil’s figure became double in her vision. With a clumsy stretch, she reached out with her paw to bat at one of the many Petilil in front of her.
[Tag you’re…]
Salem collapsed onto the ground, snoring loudly while curling into a ball of adorable brown fur. Nap time.

"Don't bet on it. Petilil's tougher than you think," Wayne said with a cocky grin as he took Salieri's hand and got to his feet. "You still haven't won," he continued, "Why, I was just about to go meet Petilil and congratulate her on a job well done."
He put his hands in his pockets. Tilting his head down and looking up at Salieri through his bangs.
"Care to join me, Opponent?"
***
"PETIIIIIiiilll....il?" the grass type shrieked, eyes closed until she realised nothing had happened, her voice transforming into a squeak. She blinked and looked at the snoozing Salem. Petilil watched her carefully and slunk towards her, hurrying back as soon as Salem's snoring got stronger.
"Lil?" Petilil crept up to the normal type and prodded her with a leaf. Wow. Out cold. She looked about. Spied the door to the outside. She ran towards it but halted as soon as she heard Salem snore again. She couldn't just leave her here, could she?
Petilil thought about what Wayne would do and then sighed. Plucking up her courage, she got behind Salem and squashed her face against the Eevee's flank. With all the effort she could muster she started to push the pokémon across the floor. It was exhausting, but she managed a whole half an inch before needing to stop for breath.
[This is going to be haaaard...] Petilil pouted.
***
((Whoops. Sorry I didn't write this sooner, dude. I've been feeling s**t all day and it completely slipped my mind))
"That's enough," Chili held up his hand, "We've already brought this battle to boil, there's no need to continue."
A smile plastered across Chili's face and Pansear folded his arms, looking away. Chili held up the pokéball and recalled the pokémon, making it break down into what appeared to be light and then be confined.
Addressing David: "Both your pokémon and you showed resilience and determination! The truth is, that's what we look for in our gym challengers. To get our badge you need fighting spirit! It's vital for the road ahead!"
He reached into his pocket and produced the Striaton City Gym Badge. "Seems like we've been handing these out like candy today! How's that for a special menu? So. Will you take it?"

Salieri rolled her eyes and folded her arms lightly in front of her. “Might as well. I don’t think there’s any sense in us running around anymore.” She looked side to side across the quad. “We were right though, this place is excellent for training. I wonder how Chen Zhen and Liuye Dao are holding up.” She had forgotten about their individual training form before. Chen Zhen’s leaves would certainly help her faituge out as well, even if they tasted like they came from under a rock.
She took a step forward through the grass. The ground seemed softer here, but Salieri payed it no mind. “I wonder where our pokemon ended up,” she pondered out loud to Wayne while walking forward. “They couldn’t have gotten too-“
The ground gave way underneath her foot, and suddenly the soft earth fell through. Salieri was stuck in the middle of the falling ground, which caved in beneath her like a pitfall. “FAAAAAAAARRRRRR!!!!!” she screamed while falling down until she hit something hard with a solid thud.
The Battle Girl groaned in pain form the fall. It was dark. Pitch black. The only source of light came from the hole in the earth far above her. Was there a secret basement to the Dreamyard? Or was there just some sort of underground tunnel? Regardless, she was far too deep to jump back up on her own. That, and she couldn’t move. Her arm was caught in something cold and metal. Maybe a steel clamp? She couldn’t see, so it didn’t matter. All she could do was grope with her free hand for something, anything as she lay stuck on her back to try and figure out her surroundings.
Sal gulped. “…hey Wayne? I uh, I could use some help down here.”
****
Meanwhile, Salem stirred slightly. It looked like she could wake up!
…she did not.

Dave nodded with a grin "Why thank you, I believe I will accept it. And also, I'd like to thank you for such an intense and relentless battle. Cicero's confidence seems to have gone up quite a bit." He winked "Oh yes, I'd also like to order some more food. Do you, by chance, make extra spicy jambalaya?"

"D-Vee, huh?" Eunmi said, looking down at the Smeargle. For the first time in a long time, the Pokemon seemed to be pleased by something Eunmi said.
"Sorry 'bout that," Eunmi said kneeling down and extending her hand. "The Pokedex has your name registered as Leonardo Da Vinci, and I just figured... Oh, I get it. D-Vee, Da Vinci."
The Smeargle nodded.
"Okay, well, to make up for it, I'll get you some ice cream," she smiled and stood up again. "Just as soon as- hey!"
She twirled around, looking for where Henrietta had gone. She spied the clothed Machamp and took a step back.
"I can see why she left," Eunmi murmured. Eventually she saw the direction Henrietta had run off in, so she scooped her pokemon up in her arms and ran after her.
"Hey! Wait!" Eunmi shouted as she caught up. She skidded to a halt as she wrapped around to cut Henrietta off.
"I wanted to ask you something," Eunmi said as she let her Pokemon back down.
"Where did you get that hair clip? It's super cute."
D-Vee smacked his forehead.
[She promised me ice cream,] he grumbled.
[Want some?] Dali asked, extending his cone to D-Vee. The Smeargle frowned and shook his head.

A rundown of her Pokemon's abilities. Melty couldn't take direct hits from Darumi if they were super effective. However, with the proper strategy, he didn't even really have to move to dish out a lot of damage. The fight against Avan had taught her, however, that other Pokemon were capable of surviving several strong hits, while others were toasted in one go.
Darumi was getting better at his technique. His roll out, fire control and breathing had all increased since the previous day.
Socant, too, had grown stronger. His electricity was now capable of actually damaging people and his jaws were strong enough to break the skin on even tough opponents.
That left Frate, whom she hadn't worked with yet.
As Henrietta's thoughts traveled to her Pokemon she found herself almost running into a new arrival.
She stopped and took a step backward, surprised. The question caught her further off guard.
Hair clip?
((Checked the profile and saw that the profile picture had one. I was like, "oh."))
"M-m-my m-m-mom," she said.

"Ah," Eunmi said. It was easy to see that Henrietta was uncomfortable, so she stepped back and looked at the girl's Pokemon. This girl knew more about it than her, obviously, but she still didn't get the whole Pokemon Training thing. Why everyone was so obsessed with it.
"Ergh, this might sound like an odd question, but why do you train Pokémon?"
She knelt down and extended her hand to pet Dali.
"I mean, they're cute and all, but... I don't get it."

Why did she train Pokemon? Before she'd never done it because she didn't like people. She didn't mind crowds, mind you. But it was getting attention that bugged her.
To put it a simpler way, a crowd of people watching a sports game meant a crowd of people not watching her. But a small crowd of people meant she was much more likely to be paid attention to, especially if there was something about her that stood out.
Luckily Eunmi was like a figurative neon light. Nobody paid attention to much else, unless you were some Pokemon obsessed individual.
However, with highschool behind her, what did that leave her? Henrietta had had plenty of time to reflect, but this wasn't the time for flashbacks.
So, Henrietta said, "college is crowded."

"C-crowded?" Eunmi couldn't help but let out a small chuckle. She stood back up, Dali hugged in her arms like a stuffed animal.
"That doesn't make any sense," Eunmi replied. "What's not to like about crowds?"
