Sephiroth had one of his pockets picked and ripped as he was going past Sally as he chased after Galantros who ended up gaining distance on him because he was hacking at he skeletons as he went. Then they suddenly left and charged Galantros. Watch it, he warned his companions. I'm going to charge those running away from me all the way to the big one. He lifted up his borrowed shield in front of him as holy fire began to surround whole body. He placed a foot on a tomb stone and pushed off quickly picking up speed to sever kms/sec like a meteor flying through the air just skimming above the ground and slammed himself, releasing the explosive burst of flame in the process, at whatever large target he hit. (Like if he somehow missed the skeleton, that would happen to the tree/big rock he slammed into.)

((Booster post for Psycho Gal))
The blast of flame impacted hard into the skeleton, causing it to screech as it shattered into parts, bits of it flying everywhere It's lower half, legs and it's pelvis, stumbled around, before falling to the ground. The remaining skeletons on Galantros then began to screech and fall apart. One or two others in the field did the same, but the rest remained. The giant's club landed a mere scant inches from Galantros' head on the ground with a heavy thud.
Is that... is that a sign they're losing power?
- - - - - -
Sally gripped the shield in a claw, and used it to deflect a few javelins. Jacob was already on his way to help Rosemary heal faster, while attacking whatever got in the way. Meanwhile, Sally noted Daphne's weariness, and decided to do something about it.
"Hold still, this will sting, but you'll be better." Suddenly, Sally bit down onto Daphne's shoulder with a pair of fangs, clouds of energy fog flowing out of her mouth as she infused the vampire with energy. It wasn't much, but it would stave off weariness... Skeletons approached, shooting crossbows and throwing projectiles, but fortunately Sally was able to block them from hitting both her and Daphne by using the shield until she finished feeding the vampire. When she completed the task, the undead minion seemed a little woozy before flying off, blasting a stream of fiery energy at several of the skeletons a bit carelessly almost.
Adira, while possibly slightly distracted by all the action, was nearly hit by a tree log, a bit of fortune and luck on her side as it missed her by inches... Another of the giant skeletons had seemingly appeared out of nowhere... though on closer inspection, it was a melding of a number of smaller ones into a melted, mutated larger one. Apparently their numbers WERE lessening, and they were starting to get desperate as the creature hissed and swung horizontally at Adira again.
Somewhere in the world, skeletons had found a pool of lava... and perhaps through a mental bond they all shared because of Dieamos' essence, they recognized Banquo's ice abilities. So they did what was natural to combat it. Scooping up some of the lava with the skulls of their fallen comrades, they quickly carried it with them and used it to light arrows and bolts on fire from a distance and fired it towards the ice hound. They were perched on a cliff at least a couple of miles away from him when the assault begin, nearly twenty of them.

It’s still bloody lightning, she responded to Rosemary, then she answered Veni Guess we are. Cian’s maker was a shaman. Is a shaman. Whatever. Daphne’s body swayed slightly, her eyes drooping. too bad I can’t heal myself, she thought to herself with a faint chuckle. During their honeymoon, she and Cian had tried to see if Daphne could heal herself. She pictured her body but even her imagination was screwing up. There was just no easy way for her to heal herself. It was impossible (at least at this point in time). Maybe I’ll get out… she wondered. She didn’t hear Galantros’ mumble of thanks. She was out of it. She only realized someone was by her when she felt a hand on her shoulder. The vampire jumped slightly in surprise. She hadn’t even heard them coming. It was Sally. She heard only a few of the words that the being spoke. ”…still…sting…better.” They didn't make sense. Daphne knew she should tell Sally that she wasn’t making any sense. And THERE it was. Oh gods. It stung. Flashes of her human life were brought before her eyes. Oh hey. Cian. Hello Cian. What are you doing with your fangs out? then his fangs pierced her neck. Daphne was brought out of the flash of memory with a gasp. Something was moving into her flesh…energy? She was slowly starting to feel better. By the time Sally finished, Daphne still was not feeling 100 percent but at least she could stand. ”Thanks, Sally.” She murmured this and gave a brief smile before jumping back into the fray. Daphne felt the urge to heal the reanimated corpse but she stopped herself. What good would that do? Sally just spent energy healing her. If she gave that away she would be an idiot. Daphne briefly touched Sally’s shoulder in gratitude as she moved away. Adira actually has it now. When I was about to heal GL I gave it to her. But I can get my hands on a cross bow. The vampire picked up the fallen weapon and loaded it. She sprinted at the attacking skeletons, moving in a zig-zag fashion before she shot the arrow. She loaded another one in swiftly, turning in Veni's direction. She quickly, quietly attacked the being from behind. She wondered if the cross bow would have any effect.
Yeah. I have one of those guns, Veni. You want me to get the… Suddenly a tree log was falling mere inches from her face. The healed succubus squeaked but otherwise didn’t let out another sound. That was a close one. She looked to see where it came from before seeing the giant skeleton that seemed to be heading toward her. She looked up at it before turning her eyes heavenward with a shake of head. It swung it’s makeshift weapon at the succubus again but she dodged it. Taking aim at the thing Veni was fighting for a brief moment and shooting. She couldn't see if she made the shot or not because the giant patchwork skeleton was advancing on her, demanding her attention. Adira needed to stay focused on it or else she could lose the game. I can toss you the gun Veni, but unfortunately…I really can’t shoot at it for you. Let me know if you want the gun. The succubus took flight and aimed her gun again, steadying her gun-holding arm before shooting. Her aim was the patchwork’s face.
Banquo’s body healed almost instantly. The cuts and scrapes edging together. Dried blood now coated his fur. heard the sound of arrows piercing the air—his hearing far more advanced than that of his charge’s. His head tilted. These arrows were on fire. He neatly dodged one headed straight for him. When it hit to ground he noticed what covered it’s surface. Lava. interesting. The hound of ice smirked. He always loved it when he and his mate combined powers. It had the best effect. Another arrow came at him. It grazed his shoulder but Ban was quick to roll to put it out. It stung but the cool hound was able to grind his teeth and put his pain aside. After years of torture, he was an old hand at displacing pain. His ice shot out of his muzzle with swiftness. The arrows froze over then BOOM. They exploded in shards of ice, steam and water. Banquo kept shooting them but then he began running as he did so, sprinting at the group that was attacking him. He alternated between shooting the arrows—which caused a sort of small smoke screen—and shooting through the distance toward his foe. None of his teammates were between the two. There were trees, shrubs and debris but luckily the hound’s senses were in top shape and he avoided the obstacles.
Ophelia’s ears twitched as she learned the news of how to beat the demon. She tried to feel her connection to the others in her mind but it was muted. She knew the two weren’t dead—she was able to feel that much—but otherwise, they couldn’t communicate. It was as if they were on different plains of existence. Phe felt alone because of it. She was so used to feeling her master and her mate in her mind. She looked up at the game screen, her amber eyes taking in the battle. If only she could tell the others what she knew. The hound sighed. If only she weren’t out.
Cian nodded. ”I see. So it’s all about stamina…Something of his power has to use a lot of energy to go through his abilities.” Cian leaned forward in his chair slightly, a reflective expression on his face as he rested his elbow on his knee and looked up at the game. ”The others are getting tired too by the looks of it.” Though many of the warriors in the game wouldn’t ever willingly show their exhaustion, it was easy to read. ”So the bigger ones because…they take the most energy. I follow you.” He paused, listening to the shadow goblin ”So you don’t think they stand a chance of victory?”

The shot Adira had fired zipped with a glowing sphere of specialized energy across the battlefield, and actually would have missed... had the skeleton not dodged back for one of his attackers slashes. It impacted into the skeleton's leg, causing it to stumble and drop one of it's blades. The thing hissed, nearly falling over as it rather weakly tried to fend off future attacks with only one weapon for the next several seconds. Kyle took advantage immediately, stabbing at the skeleton, distracting it by causing it to block, leaving it's sides and skull wide open for a counter...

Just as I thought, thought Rosemary. Go after the more fancy ones.
No, he's likely to cut the barrel off if I tried to aim one of those at him with how close he stays to me. That was lucky, thought Veni to himself as he would have been hit by the shot himself had it been a moment later since he was pushing the skeleton back thanks to Daphne's distracting shots. (In fact if GL had decided for that shot to miss I was going to have it hit Veni.) Please cover me as I try to get in a good hit now that he's down, he said talking to Daphne. Veni performed that neat vampire trick where they're in front of you one moment and behind you before you could blink while Kyle distracted it and tried to do a vertical slice down the center of it's skull and body with the leecher blade while the other sword moved upwards in a sort of scissor like motion to try to remove the arm in case the later wasn't accomplished.

Ma Jianshen watched Ophelia twitch and fidget in his peripheral vision after certain information was just said. While still looking at the screen/s he said, "it is lucky that this is such a superior machine, otherwise one of us might be sorely tempted to be dishonorable in a battle with comrades and cheat to give that information to our masters or wife."

(With Veni)
The bladesman skeleton hissed viciously, but uselessly, as it continued to block Kyle's weapon, attempting to lash out with a claw at the undead minion. Daphne's crossbow shots damaged and enraged it further. That's when Veni unleashed his own attack.
*SHHHINK*
The skeleton straightened immediately as the leecher blade absorbed it's life energies through it's marrows as it sliced through it's skull and spine, while the other blade popped off it's sword arm. Kyle didn't waste a moment and with the skeleton no longer blocking his weapons, took his own blades and popped off the thing's skull. The result was instantaneous. The rest of it's boney structure collapsed.
With the loss of another of their generals, more skeletal minions rasped out a cry and collapsed into heaps of bone and weaponry in various locations, some of which were the ones shooting arrows and bolts at Banquo, making his job much easier to contend with.
- - - - - -
(With Banquo)
Several of Banquo's ice attacks landed with success, freezing solid skeletons near the cliff edge, causing them to fall down and shatter themselves on the ground below, their forms becoming broken and inert. In desperation, as Banquo drew near, the skeletons grabbed the skullfuls of lava they had been using and hurled them at the ice hound. One of them managed to coat itself somehow in the burning stuff, screeching as it started to burn, it's bones not as strong as some of it's other brethren.
- - - - - -
(Adira)
The magic sapping sphere of energy blasted from Adira's gun towards the patchwork's face, but it deflected the blast with another swing of the tree trunk, also knocking the gun out of her hands with it. As it had swung, it was somewhat noticable that a few bits of bone and incomplete skeletons had fallen off of it's body, perhaps a result of the other skeleton “boss” dying. Galantros by this point had recovered enough to leap onto the things back to provide enough distraction for Adira to counter just as the giant had raised it's tree trunk club, the reaper-incubus digging claw and tooth into it's back to try and viciously tear out bits of bone from it's backside. The gun when smacked out of her hand had mostly flown in a vertical angle for what reason, and wasn't too far out of her reach...
- - - - -
(Observing Group)
The shadow goblin watched the unfolding events carefully and almost seemed to frown for a moment, before smirking again. “You're right about the usage of a lot of energy. A lot of physical, mental, and magical energy is being used. And correct, take out the larger targets, it disperses and saps energy overall, disrupting the flow for the lesser minions. Often enough, well, the results can change the tide of battle...”
“As for not standing a chance, I don't think you were quite listening. I didn't say they don't stand a chance, a bit of the opposite really. There IS a chance they can still pull through and win this, they just need to endure a bit longer if they're able.”

Daphne nodded rather than responded to Rosemary’s thought. That made sense. Alright she sent at Veni, I’ll set a distraction for you. She loaded her cross bow with the ease and swiftness of a vampire from the 1700s. She took aim at the skeleton and shot arrow after arrow. Some of them hit, causing damage to the monstrosity; other arrows simply impaled the ground. The giant skeleton was getting more and more enraged. Then Veni and Kyle attacked and…it was done. The skeleton Collapsed. The heads. Knock the heads off. She sent the others, Obvious, I know…But when Kyle knocked the head off, the skeleton just collapsed! Did you all see the other ones do it too? They might actually have a chance of winning the game. A small determined smile lit Daphne’s features. She reached into her quiver, finding only three arrows left in it. A small sigh left her lips. A fine time to be almost out of arrows. She nudged some of the bones of their fallen foe aside, finding four more arrows. There were three others sticking in the ground. Ten would do for now…She would just make sure to get more later. Daphne loaded the cross bow, looking for her next opponent. And she found it easily! Adira and Galantros had their hands full with a patchwork skeleton. They looked like they might need help…especially when she saw Adira dive for the gun. Daphne took off running for her two friends. Her feet carried her swiftly there, while her hand readied to shoot. The shot left the shaft swiftly, aiming at the patchwork’s neck.
Adira muttered a curse, stumbling slightly with the force of the tree causing the gun to leave her hands. It landed some feet away—not a great distance, but not one where she could easily reach it. Bits of bones and debris fell off the skeleton, showering Adira lightly. Galantros was suddenly helping her, tearing bits of bone off the monster. Now was the time to do it—to retrieve the gun. She glanced at it and dove for it. Adira grabbed the gun easily and sat up. Her head swiveled at the sound of something cutting the air. Arrows. Rather than flying at the succubus or Galantros, they were aimed at the patchwork. Friendly fire. Adira aimed the gun at the patchwork and shot again—this time at its chest.
Still moving steadily toward the cliff, Banquo was shooting the arrows down with ease. The skeletons seemed to be getting more frantic with each blast. Ban let himself have one brief smile before getting back to business. His job became more difficult when fistfuls of lava came flying at the hound. He was able to dodge the majority of them however, the movements being too slow. There were a few close calls, however. The hound’s fur was burnt in some places, blackened skin in others. Suddenly, one of the skeletons was on fire. The hound readied himself, checking his aim and control before letting lose, sending a massive ice beam ball at the skeleton.
---
[outside the game]
Ophelia’s ears flattened against her head for a moment after what Ma Jianshen said. ”For some of us, life and death hasn’t been a game in a long time. For some, the instinct to protect might overrule the rationale that this is all a game in good fun. In that case it wouldn’t be cheating, it would be seen as helping those who need it.” Her eyes had glanced to Ma Jianshen as she said this but for the most part her attention was on the screens in front of them all.
Cian’s eyes glanced over the hound and the Chinese vampire. There seemed to be tension. He could understand both sides of it however. He knew what it was like to forget something was a “game” and not a life/death situation—Ophelia was watching her mistress fight for her technological life just as Cian was. He had to keep his emotional side in check in order to not keep twitching or sending a surge of power at the machine whenever Daphne was attacked. On the other hand, he could also see Ma Jianshen’s point. It was a very good thing that the machine was well made. Cian felt it was best to not get involved with that discussion.
Returning his attention to the goblin, the male vampire listened to his response. Nodding along ”Amazing. I may have been doubting.” He grinned good-naturedly, ”I hope they will be able to endure a little longer.” He glanced at all the fighters in the game….Most looked tired, exhausted and hurt. Would they be able to endure?

Ma Jianshen's lips curved upward and his eyes almost squinted shut, but his face didn't turn away from the screen. "That's right," he said, "and anyone of us could try it. You are not only one who has someone in game with mental connection." His smile faded and his expression returned to what it previously was and he continued to automatically stroke the Zac's thick scales. "I have curiosity. Do you really see this as a mere game?"
-----
Veni swung one of the blades in a sort of victory dance type way after taking out one that he thought might kill him. Instead of going to help Daphne, Adira, and Galantros with the other big one in their sights he went off to help Rosemary, Ban, and Sephiroth in their attempts to prevent the little ones from over powering them.
Sephiroth asked for some protection from one of them so that he could cast a spell that would put up a sort of large barrier that would help slow down the horde since they were no doubt pushing harder at this point.

Saw it, Daphne. Trying to dig into neck! Can't rip through fast enough though...
The giant was taking damage quickly from everyone's efforts. Arrows, bolts, claw marks and more... A great deal of bone matter scattered from Adira's last shot, causing the behemoth skeleton to fall backwards, and literally flatten Galantros, crushing the demon-reaper underneath the thing's massive weight. Galantros attempted to lift the thing off him, or to crawl out, but smaller arms forced him to stay pin from the thing's mass, as the giant observed the battlefield. More and more of it's smaller minions were dying.
Time for it's final move.
At once, there was a cacophony of howls from all of the remaining skeletal minions, as they immediately stopped fighting, and rushed towards the fallen giant. Their plan became evident soon enough... to strengthen the larger by adding to it's mass, as tendrils of purplish-black magic reached out to draw the skeletons in faster. Everyone's attention would soon be on the beast, but it wouldn't matter. One way or another, it knew it was losing strength, (it had lost too many of it's generals and regular minions) so it might as well go out with a bang and do something that might give it a chance to win... or draw.
Once enough skeletal creatures amassed, the thing got up and was shifting shape. A large claw out of it's back bound Galantros, the limb rippling through it's body to be at the front of it's chest, as it's head shifted to something similar to that of Dieamos' original face, only angry looking. The demon seemingly had a naturally sorrowful or neutral expression, but contorted in this manner it was down right terrifying, liked they had enraged a sleeping gentle giant. Galantros struggled, tearing at what he could on the claw that was crushing him... audible pops of the reaper's inner bones could be heard, as he gave a gasp at what the giant was quickly moving to do.
”Oh no, nononooooo...”
*CHOMP* *CRUNCH* *SPIT!*
Swiftly, the skeleton giant took Galantros out of the game by chomping off his head and spitting it out, crushing the reaper's body easily with nothing left to control it in it's hand. Quickly, Galantros' “corpse” vanished from the game as he was booted out of the system and back into the gaming room. The giant then wasted no time, (as small bones and bits seemed to be falling off it still to the observant eye, and wisps of energy was rising off it's body) growing extra limbs to flail and punch at the rest of the combatants.
Meanwhile, Galantros shook himself off, back in his standard reaper form, and took a seat amongst the rest of the “out” people.
”Did... did he really just bite my head off?”

Adira winced and moved to help Galantros but she was too late. The giant skeleton form bit off GL’s head. There was only one thing she could do at a time like this, take aim and shoot. She did, aiming her gun carefully. She shot a few times at the giant skeleton, only remembering to move back a few seconds later in order to get out of the way.
Daphne shivered with the sound of the howls. The beast was giant. But…it so visibly had a problem. She knew most of the others would see it. It wouldn’t last long. She aimed her cross bow at the skeleton, shooting as many arrows as she could while taking off in the opposite direction.
Banquo nodded his thanks for Veni’s help but saw his mistress shoot at the skeleton. All he could think was that she was too close to the monster. She needed to move but she wasn’t. Well, not moving very quickly anyway. Banquo was still fairly far away and despite his awesome speed, he wouldn’t be able to reach her quick enough if the thing should decide to attack. However, the hound of ice ran anyway, shooting ice at the creature.
[out of game]
Ophelia looked up at Ma JianShen, her eyes narrowing just slightly and her tail twitching. “Sometimes for a brief moment, you can lose track of logic or reason as it is taken over by emotion or instinct. Put in a combat situation, there was an element of reality. I can separate it now but when instinct filters in, it’s harder to do.” She winced when she saw GL’s particularly gruesome death.
Cian couldn’t help the little smile that appeared on his mouth when Galantros exited the game with the question. “He really did. You fought bravely…but yes, your head was taken clean off with one bite. It was quite disgusting. I’m sure there’s a replay button somewhere here.” He grinned in jest, “We can even go back to the other deaths. Ophelia’s here was quite gruesome as well.” He watched her tail twitch in annoyance once more. “My own death was a bit too premature….but anyway, welcome.” He nudged one of the empty seats with his foot, “Take a seat. Have some snacks.” His eyes went back to the screen, noting his wife in position to the whole game. It was dangerous. She needed to get out of its way and stay out of its way. Adira was still far too close to it. She needed to move and she needed to move quickly.

The behemoth lunged, stumbling forward as it was blasted again by Adira. It lost one of it's hands as it tried to block the shots, sacrificing more energy as it reformed the lost appendage. However, it's falling forward brought it immensely close to the barely retreating succubus. It took advantage, a angered, but at least to her satisfaction, pained expression on it's face as it's hand crushed her to the ground. Instantly, she felt something piercing into her back. Weaves of sharp bone tendrils were rustling through her body, piercing through her vital innards, immediately ending her life. Within seconds, she was out of the game.
Blasts of ice seemed to anger, although injure the demonic thing, and the bolts from the crossbow sometimes would pass through ribs, but other times jut into skulls and other thick bones on the monster, harming it. The force of the slam it used on Adira to kill her was enough to blow back Daphne a bit with how close she still was somewhat, knocking her off her feet. This turned the skeletal creatures roaring attention to the vampiress, as it regained it's footing and started stampeding after her.... a fairly sized chunk of it's side falling off in the process.
- - - - -
Galantros shrugged, picking up a minty energy drink and sipping it with his fingers.
"Ah well... Wow, look at that.. that thing is really starting to fall apart now... Still looks angry as all heck, though."

Ma Jianshen inwardly frowned, but gave Ophelia a puzzled look. "I agree with what you say, but don't understand how that answers the question which I think I was asking. Maybe I wording it wrong for the answer I want?" He thought a moment on how to reword it. English wasn't his first language so he thought that he might not have worded it quite right the first time, "Is all what we did, this whole experience, right now feeling to be only a game to you which we do and nothing more?"
-----
Seeing as how that thing could completely morph its body into spikes and bone tendrils and pretty much KO a person as soon as it got close enough, Rosemary handed Jacob one of those magic killing guns, picked him up, and ran since she was still faster than he. That seemed to be the best option to her since it seemed like it would die soon anyways. She sent Kyle and Sally to be a hindrance to it, with Sally using its ranged attack on it. Yes, that thing'll die any moment now so it's better to get away. Daphne, can't you morph into many crows while you run and have them scatter as fly away? Ban, try encasing it in ice if you have that ability and are going to attack it still!
Veni also chose to run away as he was best equipped for up close combat at the moment having depleted the gun he was using earlier. Also the earth magic skills Jacob was trying to teach him weren't very refined yet at this point. Least not enough to time a wall or golumn to appear in front instead of behind it.

Adira’s body came out of the game but her mind was still in it…the pain. The extreme pain. A scream left her lips as her body twitched violently and fell to the floor. Another scream erupted out and another. Her whole body was shaking, she was unable to control it all. She could feel it. In her back. It was there. GET IT OUT! Emotions shot out of her body and at the others in the room. The emotions were of sheer panic, confusion and pain. Her eyes didn’t want to see the world around her. The Post-traumatic stress of the event was getting to her.
Ophelia ignored Ma Jianshen’s question for the moment, in favor of watching her mistress die in the game. Her eyes went wide and her body twitched toward the game. When Adira’s scream echoed through the room she couldn’t help but be reminded of what it was like in Hell. Ophelia stood swiftly and made her way toward Adira. The mental connection was back in place. It was calming, it was a relief.
Banquo watched his mistress get smashed and cut into. He had tried running toward her but he hadn’t made it in time. Now, Adira was out of the game. He felt the loss of the mental connection hard. But now he was angry. I can try he sent Rosemary. Thankfully, the hound was still a considerable distance from the monstrosity. He opened his mouth and let loose. Arches of ice sped at the skeleton, twisting and weaving around each other to reach their destination. The beams started at its feet and moved up the body, if it connected.
Daphne used every ounce of energy she had to escape that monster. She wasn’t exactly sure if she could transform into the crows but on the other hand….she’d lose the weapon. Rosemary…I’d lose the weapon. Should I do it anyway?

If you can't do the weapon, than how do you do your clothes? A weapon is merely an extension of yourself like clothing. Besides you see it falling apart. If I am correct, we merely need to stay alive long enough for it to die but I fear it may have a final death spell waiting like the shadow goblin had that killed Eztli, thus I think distancing ourselves is top priority.
