xxxxx Sunlight warmed his face as he walked down the ever-familiar roads of the residential district. He was a little early but he could bet all of his ryo that Toso was there anyways. Turning the corner, he saw he was correct. He was coming up behind the squid and thought maybe a taste of his usual medicine would be in order.
Nathaniel was only a few feet from the squid at this point. He put his hands in his pockets as he swung his feet in front of each other slowly. The other man tended to surprise Nathaniel with tentacles (though it was becoming more normal to him) but the medic had yet to surprise Toso. That's why, when his head was just behind the man's left shoulder, he raised his voice a bit: "Boo!" He wore a devilishly amused grin as he waited to see the response.

"Blooooooeurg" Too deep into himself and his personal thoughts and feelings. Toso was unexpectant of Nathaniel's sudden surprise arrival. Ink splurted from the squid mans mouth coating the ground in front of him in grey which soon vanished to mold with the grasses and dirt until the presence of the ink was gone but the affected terrain remained grey as if their color itself had been sucked away from them. This blend actually proved the easier for Toso to produce rather than the normal black and at times based on impulse would trump the normal black entirely. After he went from stiff to jello he turned around to see Nathaniel once more in high spirits. Ah good. At least he wasn't dower.
Toso's face however after his little incident still remained stalwart..despite the grey gunk that seemed to cover it. To seem more professional he'd turtle himself in his collar. Nabaniel-kun bloop. Good to see you in suh high spurits. Here is tobays booty. The bloop and duty would fuse together on sheer accident from the muffled voice. Toso would provide the mission summary. They were to aid the orderly's in taking inventory of bed pans, medicine, etc. Without further a bloop. He began to walk towards the infirmary. Despite his position a squid could still get embarrassed. When the two would arrive in the room the orderly would explain the situation. They had to cover about four rooms in total. The infirmary, the supply closet, the cafeteria, and the multi-purpose room. The orderly would provide both the men with a clipboard to keep track of their progress.

xxxxx Nathaniel laughed as it appeared he'd surprised the squid, though he himself was surprised at the projectile ink. He stopped laughing but kept a warm expression since he didn't want to make Toso anymore uncomfortable. He didn't comment on the raised collar and instead took on a more professional disposition. He nodded at their mission summary, looking attentive.
He stole a glance at Toso as he received his clipboard. "Shall we start in the cafeteria?" He grinned. "I skimped on breakfast this morning," he joked, laughing at his own comment and walking ahead to find the proper area. He assumed they'd be working together in each room since that was the purpose of the hand-holding missions. "A little short on napkins," he muttered aloud. He would usually not care much, but he figured the elderly would spill more than most civilians.

"Bloop yes. It seems there are a few napkins missing." Toso would agree as the trashcan next to him was filled with grey inked papered crumples. Of course the sudden lack was on account of the recent usage to clean himself up but he clearly did it in a stealthy manner. He then made sure to account for reimbursement on the clipboard. "Bloop Nathaniel-kun. you take right I'll take left." Toso would divert taking the left side of Cafeteria forming check marks as he went along to make sure everything was accounted for. This would allow to two to make up for lost time. Chances were he'd have been a lot more sociable but with the two other members of his unit MIA. It would involve picking up their slack. When Toso finished counting the culmination of chairs and tables on his end. He would then be curious whether or not Nathaniel would require assistance on his end. His end after all would have most of the 'foodstuffs' to account for. "Bloop so Nathaniel-kun where do you hail from again? Bloop." He couldn't remember if Nathaniel had provided proper introduction. xxxxx Toso instructed them to split the cafeteria, so Nathaniel covered the right side and left marks all over his paper as he counted the perishables. He left notes on the side (bruised fruit? really?) and then went to the canned goods. The food didn't vary as much as he'd thought, but perhaps the older civilians were picky. He noticed an excessive amount of yams and put two check marks beside their listing. He was so focused he barely noticed the question he was being asked.
"I was born here in Kumogakure, but both of my parents were Sunagakure ninja." He paused to reflect on his own heritage. It'd been interesting, the first few years of his life here. His mom had left for Suna after only one, so his dad had basically pulled the weight around the house. "What about you?" He put the pencil behind his ear and flipped the page to the next location, catching Toso's eyes and inclining his head towards the door so they would move onto the infirmary. [4/6]

Walk and talk was the method of locomotion when Nathaniel was done Toso would make sudden cues with an bob of the head in a 'lets walk' manner. Assuming Nathaniel followed Toso would proceed with his ever enticing back story. Of course they'd make a stop mid-way at the supply closet. The rubber like arm stretching to open the door to expose it's dusty contents. Toso would begin the marking of what 'should' be there. Suffice to say it was kept rather tidy but like the rest of the facility it couldn't help but permeate that 'old person' smell. "Bloop. As you know I hail from the Land of Tea. At least I believe I made that known during our first encounter. Bloop." The man proceeded to mark the inventory. Each check mark he made was perfectly symmetrical. It most certainly said something for his spatial awareness and artistic talent. Well, if the drawing of the boy wasn't enough already to prove that.
Toso then continued " Bloop. It was a small village. Our clan has always been a small one compared to more well known clans. Anywhoop. When I came here. To Kumogakure. I didn't know a thing. In fact I'd say it's entirely different custom wise. People here I suppose Bloop, aren't much of handsy types like most of us were. Bloop but I suppose living in a close knit clan that could nearly be classified tribesman and family will do that Bloop." Finishing up he'd figured Nathaniel was working in tandem with him as well as they exchanged banter. They'd move on from the supply closet down the hall towards the Multi-purpose room. The infamous scene of yesterday's heart attack. "Bloop of course I suppose you're curious as to why it was I was sent here. Bloop. Ah, Two reasons. My father's was the intention to learn militaristic ways of the shinobi villages and to more or less bloop develop an alliance of sorts while empowering his son. Finally arriving in the multi-purpose room Toso would briefly interject his life story. Bloop ah this should be even simpler than the cafeteria. We need only mark that all the chairs and tables are in order. Toso again would take one of two sides. Although there was a center point in which the two could face one another back to back to continue conversation. Toso would then continue to talk as he worked. "Bloop going on. The second was at my mother's behest to find a wife. Ah behest may be a strong term. Bloop. You see my family is rather how you say Bloop 'old valued'. I bloop like to consider myself a free squidit. Bloop I mean spirit. Rather than be pressured to marry within the Clan I used my father's reasoning as an excuse to leave before that happened." Thirty two seats in total and roughly twelve folded tables on his end. It seemed everything was accounted for assuming there was a similar amount on Nathaniel's side. The topic then shifted suddenly into an apology. "Bloop. Oh I just remembered. I do apologize for your portraits lack of color Nathaniel-kun. I suppose now would be as good a time as any to say I'm color-blind. On all three spectrums. Bloop." The final stop would be where they began. The Infirmary. xxxxx Inventory was the least important thing at that moment. It went by as brainless work, really, and all Nathaniel was holding onto was their conversation. They went from room to room to room to collect data on the supplies. Nathaniel was filling out his board slowly but surely as he focused his attention on his leader's words. He had no idea the squid had such an interesting background. He also felt that the tentacle grabbing was a little less creepy, though it wasn't entirely welcome yet. He wrote down the condition of the chairs and tables as Toso mentioned marriage, which caused the medic to pause and ponder his age. [6/6]
"No pretty squid girls?" He asked with a raised brow. Though he supposed he would have left under the same conditions, being forced into marriage. He had no clan to marry around in but he felt like he could relate to some level. "You can only see in gray scale?" That was definitely interesting. He'd never noticed that the squid was completely color blind. A part of him felt a bit sour about that - how oblivious was he? - but he also felt some kind of companionship in Toso revealing so much.
Nathaniel let out a low whistle as he marked off the last of the inventory. "Don't let anyone ever call you boring, buddy." He put the pencil back behind his ear. "So this is it?" He looked pleased to be done with the missions but his voice wasn't quite as cheerful. He'd gotten used to Toso's company and now it was going to feel weird not going on missions every day.

"Bloop you seem a bit dower Nathaniel-kun" Toso would say as he prepared the boys missive and offered it to him. The day was rather young for once. It seemed they'd gotten through today's mission with significantly more ease than those prior. "Bloop, don't look so disheartened. Bloop after all we're friends now. Bloop. Come see me anytime." and so the brief but sudden embrace of the squid ensued. His arms coiled like snakes designed to suffocate their prey. Of course one could feel the friendliness in the gesture despite it's strangeness. His arms would shortly on coil as he spoke once more. "With the still impending threat of the ice beasts it may be good to hone up on your combat capabilities. Bloop. If you'd like you could join me the academy for a friendly spar. A word of warning I've already got one loss under my belt. Bloop bloop bloop." The squid would bloop joyfully. "I'll be seeing you around Nathaniel-kun." The squid then proceeded to walk in his penguin like manner towards the door. His arms would then extend after opening the exit and with a snap and woosh he was gone. ~exit to DOJUR

༇ So it was witnessed...
Honō was suddenly tugged to the side by small pack of dogs he was walking. Their attention was captured by a canine tucked away behind a property line fence, seperating it from the road, and the four dogs barking and jumping at it. Honō breathed heavily, glad for the sudden repreive from the crazy pull of the animals, but now his cheeks were turning red from embarrassment, unsure how to handle the animals now. He was hoping they would just exhaust their pent-up energy on the run so they could calmly enjoy the rest of the day - the Hari clan member hadn't expected this. Whatever image he may have been able to construct for himself with the dogs previously was now being unveiled to show his actual lack of experience in handling animals. Does he let them bark until they've had enough? Try to wrangle control - and by what means?

✰ Keeping in step with Honō and trying to keep her small pack in line Miko would notice that the bit of professionalism the boy in the kitchen showed might of just been a slight glimmer of potential from a rather unpolished diamond in the rough. In all honesty this team thing was still rather new to Miko and her most extensive fore into the scenario was rather short lived and had great set backs and both physical an mental harm came to those involved. all the same she was giving this a fair shot. Finding herself not long off from Honō and his pack she'd try and call over to him to remind him of his earlier actions. Though she herself was having a bit of trouble as her dogs were barely following her coarse aw well. "Honō, jus do what ya did in the kitchen bruh. Puff out that bird chest of yours and let them know you're the Alpha here."
Following suit with her own words Miko would try making herself seem larger and would put more base in her voice as she'd call out. "Heel, and sit." the mixed pack of dogs seemed to take a odd stance looking at her as if she'd been a strange sight, but the deadlocked stare into the eyes of the animals seemed to hold them to some point to follow her enough to not pull her along any longer but they all remains up right on their all four paws slow closing in on her. "You guys really don't seem to get the gist of this do ya. I walk ya and then you guy gets ta go home to the cranky old lady. work with me here" Finding herself in something of a solo dialogue with her animal companions Miko would look back over to Honō to see how he'd fared with the advice.

༇ So it was witnessed...
Honō quirked a worried look up to Miko, standing behind the barking dogs while he tried to recall how on earth he was supposed to claim Alpha position while they were so distracted. Green eyes watched his sensei try to embody her own words, achieving some mile of success to at least hold their attention. Honō started to slowly walk away, allowing the length of the leads to trail behind him. He spoke a short, clipped word for the dogs to follow, acting as if the dog on the other side of the fence was of no interest, hoping the dogs he was walking would pick up on his calm, 'uncaring' air about the situation to follow. He had to wait a few seconds, but eventually the dogs were following him, still paying attention to the fenceline and giving a few barks, but soon they were past the property and moving on, and the dogs were back to pulling him along, hastening his speed to a trot once again.

• Sleek Steps: Due to his training in the Hari clan, Honō has no difficulty traversing slippery surfaces, even over uneven terrain.
• Latticino Hands Honō's work has gained him steady hands and the ability to perform minute, detailed work. Finicky work, such as the setting up even the most intricate traps, holds less trouble for him.

'Training' for Legendary takes 10 posts of crafting work, provides an additional 1 post off of crafting times, and gives a Grandmaster NPC (of the same area) for usage. In addition, any item solo crafted (without an npc helper) is non-reproducible by non-Legendary titled smiths.
• Balanced Master Any jutsu learned can be paid for with either chakra, stamina, or a mix of the two. Any further chakra types are also subject to this. Recovery amounts for chakra and stamina are doubled while working, and working counts as relaxing.
• Lifetime Disciple This discipline is for those wishing to gain from a lifetime master, never to be one themselves until their master is deceased. Gaining knowledge from over the course of their studies, the disciple will receive twice the benefits from each of their master's smithing trees (up to their completed titles), while in the living presence of them. After their master's death, they will successfully pass on a permanent, one-quarter of the benefit to their own Lifetime Disciple, if any. ✰ Seeing Hono pull his group from the focus of that other dog Miko would try to keep her boys in line with his and match pace with Hono but it would seem that the lot of them were hell bent to pick up the pace on the Genin. Miko had no idea where Honsho wondered off to and wasn't making it her problem right now. Wrangling at least one of these people was going to be her focus for now. Though she didn't show it it did concern Miko how quickly those who came close to her seemed to dissolve into nothing and disappear from her. The thought brought down her mod but she'd keep walking lively trying to keep some form of conversation going between her and Hono. He wasn't really her first choice as a team mate given his waif appearance and fragile demeanor, but the boy had some strong feelings and assets that seemed likely to grow in this environment. Trying to give some time for the dogs to actually get around to gong to the bathroom Miko would tightly grip the leashes and would call to the dogs. "Hol up boys you's gots ta go to tha bathroom right. Then get et over with an lets get you back home after some exercise. I'm sure there's a dog park around here somewere?"
It was really a rhetorical questioning dialogue Miko was taking up with her self but she'd refocus on Hono to talk to him a bit more. "So Hono , you got any special skills? Like what did you do best in the academy or were you just soem straight transfer? You're pretty old to be joining up just now but i can't really say I'm ain't a bit old myself. Either way we should make our way to a park or somethin."

Honō jumped slightly at Miko speaking his name. Blinking, he turned to glance over a shoulder to look at his sensei. "Uh, well..." He cleared his throat, cheeks flushing in embarrassment. "Well, no. No, I... I didn't do well in anything at the Academy. I barely scraped by..." He frowned. "Only reason I got entered at all was because the head of our family wished it - my ma is a civilian, and my pa has very little skill with the family jutsu. But his pa was well favoured for his skills. The head hopped the Academy would trigger any skill I might have inherited. I haven't." He quickly added. "I work the family forge - to make glass, mostly. I'm... a worker." He shrugged, but his shoulders stayed hunched, tense, worry in his eyes. "I was told one day by the head to not bother with the Academy anymore. A waste of everyone's time. I prefer the forge anyway." He added, voice soft.
Honō cleared his throat. "I think there was one down another block and to the... left." All the while the dogs continued on, rushing forward and over themselves, constantly tangling the leashes so Honō had to keep his hands busy straighting them out for the frantic animals. They really had been cooped up too long, huh?

✰ Miko would listen to Honō explain himself and a bit about his family situation while trying to keep the leashes from getting tangled and she picked up on the sense of pressure that was in his words. There was this responsibility left to him that he'd seemingly failed in his own mind and in others, but then again he might of been looking at things the wrong way. Miko herself was going through this type of transition in personal view on herself and her goals in life. Maybe not to the magnitude that Honō's tone had painted it, but she had a responsibility to lie up to a goal as a accomplished and respectable shinobi herself. Miko's expression of the constant status quo of a sly smirk would break for a moment in sullen depression thinking on her awkward similarities to this "debbie downer", but she wasn't revolted by this fact. Sighing to herself and then looking up at the sky letting the dogs walk her for a little Miko would interject bit of thoughts. "Good for you...You know you're solid in your glass work. I'm a bit of a black smith and wood worker. I'm aiming to improve in various skills so that i can become a mechanical craftsmen, they call'em gear-smiths. I've figured that my skills from my families legacy as puppeteers could be used for more than just ninja work...Honō I think you're a bit too soft for your own good, but i don't think having a bunch of jutsu is what makes a good shinoi. It's being resourceful with whatchu got, ight?... "
Reaching the park and refocusing on her walk Miko would oddly seem to be trying to be sincere for a moment there but her expression and mask of distance would resume it's pretense and odd air of arrogance. Miko maybe didn't notice it herself totally but her personality had mutated to something that by it's nature was too paranoid to trust others and alienated others by its virtue. Miko's troop of dogs made their way to one particular tree and seemed to have found just the right to do their business on. Reaching into her pockets for the baggies Miko would wait and look over to Honō where ever he was standing. "I'm supposed to be a puppeteer you know!" she'd randomly yell out across the way. "But I've never even been able to get my own designs made out and practiced in a fight. I say hold onto what you can grasp with your own skills Honō and maybe...I don't know we can help each other. I'm a shinobi trying to become a better worker so I can just build my own puppets here in this village. You're a worker who's been tasked with shinobi work, and you need to come up with ways to make your more resourceful use of your skills. I think I can help you with that. Ever heard of Fuuin jutsu?"
