Descendent of a bloody line, Sigtryggr's mother (a captive who'd come to live with his father's people) stole him away when he was a young stallion to have him gemmed (as she is).

Sigtryggr has come to regret his bloody past, though he realizes that back then he'd had little control over it. His mother has not been seen since she went back to sneak his brother Rognvaldr away to gem him too. Sigtryggr believe she died in the attempt.
