I'm horrible with spelling, though I'm getting better with grammar. Words like sourrounded (surrounded) and obbsession (obsession) I always get wrong. XD Thank god for spellcheck.

If you're bad with spelling...
Well...
I am very good with spelling xD Both Polish and English xD
BTW. REALLY Polish is so hard...? ;o; WHYYYY?

That's how I always felt about French. I'd look at a word, name, whatever... KNOW it was French, and have no clue how it was pronounced, aside from half the letters being dropped/silent.
*can't read/speak Russian or Polish either*

That's true, French is tough because of all of their silents. XD And Italian has some unexpected hard constants. Like how some people say Feliciano 'Fell-E-see-on-oh', some say 'Fell-E-chi-on-oh' is the correct Italian way... I just say "Feli". XD
PostPosted: Wed Dec 16, 2009 7:28 am
Oh, I pronounced it "fell-ee-she-on-oh". >_>

I try with French but lord knows I do it wrong. All I know is "C'est la vie" because of an old girl band.
Lol, one time I saw "hor d'oeurvres" written somewhere and went "or-deh-vores"? And then my friend laughed at me. :I Then he told me what it was and I was like "oh goddamnit."

That's why I said "Feli" was a safe bet! lol Oh yes, but the Swedish... most Slavic and Nordic... Maybe we should just say every language is hard. But at least most English is said as it looks. x.x

I don't know, I have trouble with English pronunciation sometimes.

<< I love Japanese because there are set ways of pronouncing things. This is pronounced like this, no wondering about silent letters, or "i before e" and all the s**t with that, or letters like c that can be read a million ways.
<< I like German too.

I saw the word 'Grocery store' in German and about died. German has funny things above letters like other languages and confuses me. x.x Japanese also has not silent, but soft letters sometimes. Usually it's pretty easy to understand or figure it out, but not always.

=w= I never really had an issue with soft letters. You just sort of pick up on when a letter is soft. There is a rule for it, though I can't recall it off the top of my head...

The umlauts? xD; You can write things without them though. Really easily. Sort of like how ß can also be written as "ss".
>> Which always made imbißstand look intense, for having 3 s's in the middle

It's not writing them without them, it's remembering what they do to the letter that makes it sound different that gets me. Knowing parts of several languages doesn't help I think, since every rule is different.
