I don't know if it works on all browsers since I only use Pale Moon and Firefox, but enter a field where you can type a post (preferably in a forum). If you're using Firefox or Pale Moon, the top half of the screen will be the post field; the second half will be the page you're responding to and some of the most recent posts. In the area below the editing field, click "Return to Gaia Homepage". It will load the bottom half - the half that is not the post field - as the Gaia homepage. You can then surf Gaia from that area without leaving the post field.

Refer to the pictures below for what I mean. Note how the bottom half of each screen is different.
