A boo's HP isn't visible to the other characters, it's what we call OOC information. While separating OOC (what the player knows) information from IC (what the character knows) information can be a bit difficult in play, it is an important skill, and one we try to cultivate. We do try to keep somethings secret for better reactions, but in the case of HP we'll have to keep it a very visible system, so that players are able to see that the math is being done correctly and fairly by their opponent. We do sometimes make exceptions in the case of GM-run boss fights, but when it comes to one-on-one player battles, it's a bit of a no-go.

Seconding what liz says. Character HP is simply there for all players to know the current status of their character, from how alive they are to how close they are to dying. There is no such thing as a visible HP bar in this shop~

Besides... Who ever said that Boos were always going to be weak with 10 HP? ;D There are some situations that a GM can boost a Boo's HP, too.

Even though it's OOC information, when you know your opponent is weak/dying even without it showing in IC, it's very tempting to just finish the fight off, and I'll be honest, I would be tempted, haha.
But it's nice GM run boss battles have possible hidden HP.
If you were ever in a battle where an opponent doesn't show any weaknesses, and then suddenly die after you strike it while thinking you would die next round, I'd be ecstatic.
Surprises are fun sometimes. XD

Well, since battles are based on dice rolls? You actually can make amazing comebacks on the verge of death. It's possible (though improbable) for a character with 1 hp to take down an enemy with 99 hp (this is more likely if Nio or Blade are rolling for the enemy though.) So those surprises do actually occur, they just aren't manufactured or predictable.

Is it okay to edit an RP post in the CYOA thread before the next option is posted?

(And if we already did because we didn't know, and it is against the rules, can we get a pardon? sweatdrop )

Our hunter group just fell into a room with Halloweentowners. What do they see, when they look at those Halloweentowners? Do they see them as they are, hear their voices as they are, or are they just seeing 'shadows' and hearing nothing?

Typos are a-okay to edit, but if you go back and chance your choices we won't be happy. :3

Hunters are different from regular humans in that they can see a Halloweentowner clearly. They know what they are, can hear their voices as they are, etc.

Liiiike if you think back to the Deus Ex meta, Hunters were able to see the Insanity apparitions. Regular humans? It's just a thick fog, why are you so jumpy?

It's injured, which is inconvenient. It should heal pretty quickly over a couple days, as the reaper's FEAR restores itself. Other than that, not much. OOC-ly there no special dice roll or HP drain, unless a gm adds a temporary mechanic for it.

Ok! I'm stumped. If the characters were facing the three halls, and the Cerberus appears in FRONT of them, wouldn't he be blocking the three halls? Or am I reading this wrong? Please help crying

This is somewhat random... but during times like the salem witch trials, were those actual Reapers being burnt down at the stakes? What's the history for these situations?

At the beginning of the various Inquisitions scattered throughout Europe, there were many TiH creatures harmed and even killed. There were also many more human victims during these times. As more and more creatures left for Halloween, humans, not having another world to escape to, eventually became the only available targets. By the time Salem hit? All human, though perhaps a few clever and vengeful demons helped egg the situation into it's finale.

TiHer views on the Inquistion situation were scattered and varied:

- that's what you get
- COUSIN ARNIE NOOOOoooOOOOOOoooo!
- mmmm...so much delicious FEAR
- we need to make sure they don't kill each other into extinction
- and so on...

I AM NOT SURE IF THIS HAS BEEN ANSWERED --- but in the battle system, can a player defend another player's character and take the damage intended for them?

Updated the battle guide for this~

Quote:
Defending Others:

It is possible to defend others, however you are giving up your turn to attack. You may not attack AND defend, or defend THEN attack. The person you are defending is free to act/defend as they wish. When defending, please note Defending [Character] somewhere in your post, preferably at the top or bottom so that it's VERY obvious that you're defending someone.

Note that when you are defending someone else, YOU can still take damage. For instance:

Apple defends Martini! Blocks 3 damage!
Martini attacks! Hits Pineapple for 4 damage.
Pineapple attacks! Attempts to hit Martini for 2 damage. No hit! Apple is defending Martini.
Orange attacks! Attempts to hit Apple for 1 damage. Attack hits! Apple takes -1 damage.

Um, Roch was fighting Marsh the Sex Panda's boo, but then I checked the tent thread and apparently the boo was captured by the hunters, so... do we finish off the fight? Even tho technically he's in two threads at once?
