I have an interpretation, but it may not be correct. Let me go ask around really quick.

This would apply if you have more than one character in the guild, as many active members do. I only have one right now.

what is puppetry and why is it so infamous?

I guess I can say it's infamous because: up until recently, puppeteers did not start out with a puppet and it was hard to attain one, unless you lived the Hidden Sand, where it was more convenient to purchase one. Otherwise, new puppeteers would have to be escorted by higher player to Takumi to get a puppet.
Additionally, I've heard it said more than once that to play a puppeteer requires an extra ounce of thought. I see what they mean now with all the mechanics/thought on movement.

Now, Puppetry, is basically where the ninja's intention is to fight with a combat-oriented puppet. It's not commonly seen in the actual series except through, maybe, three characters and some temporary characters.

I think there are skype groups floating around for individual villages? I know there is for the one I'm in. If you're interested in that, a mod might be able to help you out on that. I'm sure you can get a lot of advice/help there..

I don't really skype. I should have a basic or a start of a character up by tomorrow.

Welcome! I believe I have seen you around a bit, and I hope you are fitting in here nicely. I've been around for years, and I am trying to make things a little easier to understand in relation to how to start, so if you have questions feel free to ask here, with a quote for me of course, or in the questions thread here on the main guild page. I am more than willing to have a talk with you and introduce you to the variety that this guild has to offer. I do apologize if some places are moving slow at the moment, as school has just started up for many people and we are feeling the dregs that always seem to come with such rapid loss of "free time". Also, I know quite a lot of our rules seem strict, but please, discuss with me if you have issues with anything, either due to lack of understanding or if, perhaps, you have ideas! My goal, and the goal of the current moderator team, is to make this as fun and enjoyable an experience as it can be!
