Nurse Cricket was upset with him, he had disappointed her, and because she was in a position of authority, someone at the school that he respected, and she was making sense (and on top of everything else was a ghoul too) it freaked him out. Unconsciously his shoulders hunched, arms pulling closer to his chest as he stared down at the wrestling minipets, not really able to focus on them. He nodded his head weakly, trying to focus on his breathing and such to push other thoughts out of his mind. "Yes Mistress," he said, though his voice cracked, momentarily forgetting that he was supposed to be calling her Nurse Cricket.
Princess Eva gave Warrior an odd look. She was batting at him with her paws, trying to think of how to respond, when her boil said something. And he sounded odd. She turned to look at him, leaving herself completely defenseless for a moment, and quickly realized that the fracs had gotten her pinned during her distraction.

Klyde shook his feet, but it seemed Heimdall wasn't going to unlatch any time soon. That meant only one thing.
Flying.
He began to flap, strongly at first, but soon less so. Klyde was tired, and lifting a foxfire into the air, even a small one, was proving to be more than the bat could handle at the moment.
From his place in the bat spectator area, Aldo had an idea.
He nudged Terri in the arm and pointed at the combatants, winking conspiratorially. The pair began to slowly inch their way toward Klyde, but then seemed to lose patience with the battle all at once, rushing forward and grabbing the third bat between them. They flapped, flying higher and higher until they were at the height of a particularly stunted human child, then dropped their burden, not caring that Klyde was dragged back to the ground as well.

Princess Eva was distracted again, looking at her boil, when her neck and shoulder got attacked. She let out a light yelp and batted at his face with her paws, trying to get him to let go but being rather inefficient in her current position.
The hand on his shoulder was a definite distraction, and for a scant moment he was faced with waiting for what would come next. A disgusted dismissal? A blow? It was as if he had completely forgotten how patient that the nurse could be with him as he expected the absolute worst to happen.
But then what she told him was so similar to being back in the infirmary with her. Meditate, deep breaths, relax. If he just obeyed everything would work out would they not? He still had a chance to make things right? He closed his eyes, just listening to her voice, trying his best to obey (and thus please) her. Things were okay here, Nurse Cricket was a professor, she was not some mantodae female that would be so easily offended at his questions, things were different here. He was somewhat less stressed out now, enough that he did not cringe away when her hand brushed over his hair, when a yelp caused his eyes to fly open. That was right, there was no time for this. Princess Eva was fighting, for him. For his class. "You are doing very well Princess Eva," he tried to call out encouragingly.
