Jethro had run out after Meghan, and found her in a heap on the stairs. He basically jumped down the stairs to help her up. "Meg! Are you okay?" he asked. He helped her up and brushed her off. "Look, I know things have been...not the same between us like they used to be. And I know that you took Aaron's death really hard, but all of us did." He looked at her straight in the eyes. "If you need help...If you need someone to talk to. We. Are. Here."

Or I'm leaving. A moment passed before Meghan broke eye contact with Jethro, crossing her arms and taking a step back from him, remaining silent. She hadn't even responded to him when he had asked if she was okay. Since the answer to that was pretty obvious...
"Why should I believe that? You weren't there when Aaron was still here! When he needed y-" She couldn't go on without the urge consuming her. Closing her eyes, she backed up to the stairs, taking a seat on the bottom one, letting her head fall into her hands. For once, she was willingly letting down her guard, tired of trying to act spiteful to everyone. "You weren't there, Jethro, you didn't see how bad he was..." she whispered, trying to keep the memories at bay of her brother and how he was during the worst parts of sickness. "It was so hard to watch him die by... by myself! And I tried, I tried to stay strong for him but it was so difficult when the people you thought were your friends ignored your phone calls and left you all alone!" I didn't know you were a fake.
Every lie straight to my face.
So blind I could not see, right behind my back you stabbed me.
I should have known you were a b***h!
Shut up, you're makin me sick.
Little man you're nothing like me, lying, cheating, so deceiving.

Jethro cast down his eyes. "I know," he said quietly. "And I can't tell you how sorry I am that it happened like that. That I drifted away because I chose not to ask you guys for help. And I payed the price for it. But Lexi and Mae didn't have that choice. They had to leave. So, if your going to hate me, hate me. But don't hate them for something they couldn't control." He grabbed his bookbag off the ground and sighed. "Please, Meg. Give them a chance."

She wasn't angry at them for no reason; sure they had no choice but to move, however after that they still could have called or written letters. God only knows how many times she had tried calling them or writing letters, ones that were ignored. After a moment she lifted her head, looking up at Jethro. "I don't hate you, or them. I'm just angry. There's a difference." I didn't know you were a fake.

Jethro sighed. "Did you ever consider that you had the wrong address or phone number, Meg?" he asked softly. He stood and said, "I have to get to class. But I have a question for you. Would Aaron still be mad at us?" With that, he walked to his biology class.

Or I'm leaving. Meghan clenched her fists, glaring down at the ground as Jethro walked away. The only way she had gotten the wrong address or phone number would be if they have given her the wrong one. And how dare he! How dare he use Aaron against her like that. He had no idea how he was after he left them. None of them did. He had changed, and they would never know how he did. "F**k this." she whispered to herself, standing up from the steps and walking down the sidewalk, away from the school, leaving her bag where she had dropped it in the gym. I didn't know you were a fake.

Jethro sat in his AP biology class, regretting his last words to Meg. He ran his hands through his hair and sighed. "Idiot." He stared at the chalkboard, already knowing what was on it. His thoughts were elsewhere. How could we have become so distant? How did I leave them alone? Why didn't I call, or attempt to contact them....

Alexia Jayy entered Biology and spotted Jethro, instantly darting to the seat by him. "Why do our friends gotta be actiing like this?" she hissed, "I know Meghan has her reasons, but Maerie, I think, was flirting with me." The blond sighed and put an arm on the table, leaning on her hand. "Maybe I should've moved to Indiana and lived with my great aunt instead of escaping him by coming here..." she said mostly to herself.

Jethro shrugged. "I don't know, Lexi. It just seemed as though demons found their ways into our lives, and the one thing that kept them at bay is now gone..." he said sadly. He looked at his notes.
"I don't even know if Meg will talk to me anymore. She's got it in her head that everyone abandoned her and Aaron. With me...yea, I'm guilty as charged. But you and Mae don't deserve that treatment. She needs to get off her high horse, and I'm about to knock her off myself..." He tapped the pencil he was holding on the table. He looked at Lexi. "Will you help me help her?" ((Lol....my comp said that you posted and it wasn't there!))

"Things got really bad when I moved to California..." she whispered, "I didn't just come back here to be with Meghan through her brother's death... I had to get far away from there... From him... From them... California really is a rough place..."

Jethro reached over and held one of her hands. "We'll talk about it later," he whispered. "We have an open campus, and we'll head out for lunch. The teacher's about to get onto us..." he said, looking at her. He smiled softly, and then let go of Alexia Jayy's hand right as the teacher turned around to ask a question.
