A Chance Meeting - Forming the Hive! (Aoi and Naru)

Delira slid through the entrance of the den, just in time to see the two weres' interlocking paws. She smiled at the sight of this, and almost wanted to giggle. She hoped this meant that Ka'lak would start being a more welcome addition to their little family. She hoped he would be with them for a long, long time to come.

"Delira found many good things!" she said excitedly, "I think Ka'lak will be very pleased."

She started setting the items up to one side of the den. It was barely a bed, made up of soft moss and pelts stuffed with leaves. She also staked some branches into the dirt ground and hung vines from them, creating a sort of curtain to privy the area off from the rest of the den. Her eyes moved to Ka'lak expectantly.

Attention was quickly drawn back toward the entrance of the den, Ka'lak's right ear giving itself a soft flick as eyes came to settle upon Delira... that paw withdrawing itself from her sister's own. "Yes... Ka'lak and Raven have made amends." He growled, giving a quick and final glance to Raven before slinking over toward his chosen.

As he drew closer, a brow slowly perked itself. Not out of disgust, but out of intrigue as the female set to work making him this crude little 'structure'. Of course, this intrigued look faded, smirk crossing his twisted lips.

"Ka'lak is pleased with it, yes." He remarked, eyes glancing over it once again. "Pleased with it cause Delira did so for him." He gave the female Spiral what their kind would call a n** of "affection", nuzzling into her shortly after.

Delira smiled as Ka'lak nuzzled against her. A happy, pleased sound rumbled from her chest. Delira moved her eyes to her sister, the look on her face nothing less than blissful. Obviously, Delira felt that she loved Ka'lak...whether it was possible for a spiral or not. She was happy that Raven and Ka'lak seemed to have made a sort of truce among themselves.

((I figure we could use the same thread to continue on. Pop, I'm quoting you in so that you can join if you want you. I know you've been really busy lately, but I figured Raven might have something to add when the eggs come. Feel free to just read along until you have something to add =^_^= ))

Delira lifted her tired head. She'd been sleeping on the rotting squirrel carcass she had given Ka'lak when he first arrived so long ago. Raven had not caught on to the fact that Delira had taken to sneaking out of her room to sleep beside Ka'lak. Delira grinned at her own rebelliousness, and leaned over Ka'lak's sleeping form. She licked the side of his face lovingly and stood up. It would be morning soon, and she thought she might go out for a hunt.

A low and rather irritated grumbling escaped Ka'lak as he slumbered at Delira's side, right arm seeming to be favored a little after his unexpected encounter with the beast he'd fell months back. But he wasn't about to let on about this defeat, right eye slowly opening itself at the feel of the female Spiral's tongue licking his cheek in such a manner.

He was not in the least bit irritated with her, form slowly lifting from the dirt, an "affectionate" nuzzle given to her before allowing his tongue to run slowly over he cheek in the same "loving" gesture. "Hehe. Ka'lak is surprised to see Delira defying her sister.. But is pleased none the less." A grin slowly slide across his lips, a glance being given around the semi-empty Hive.

"Delira must be near her Ka'lak," she said, gently nuzzling his chin, "Or Delira might fall apart."

She smiled at him. Her eyes were a bit wild, and she was hungry. Her stomach growled then, as if on cue, and she looked down at her small belly.

"Does Ka'lak want to hunt with Delira?"

She headed for the opening of the hive, readying herself to climb out, and looked back at Ka'lak for his response.

His grin found itself growing wider at the female's words, tongue sliding over tips of fangs while the eerie blue clung to those eyes. "And Ka'lak must be near his Delira... Ka'lak must protect her, as he "promised" Raven." This usage of the word promise was in the most loose manner possibly, the nuzzle being accepted before Delira pulled away.

"Ka'lak is hungry... to indulge in such a thing with his Delira would please him so."

Still favoring his right side, but not calling any sort of attention to it, Ka'lak slide toward the entrance of the Hive upon his belly... a glance turned toward the den in which Raven slumbered, before directing his gaze back to Delira.

Delira smiled and bounded up to the surface, shaking her fur clean of the excess dirt when she stepped out into the sunrise. The air had a bite to it, and she could see her breath in front of her. Delira was careful with her steps, avoiding any fallen leaves that looked dry and crunchy. She looked back and waited a moment for Ka'lak to emerge behind her before continuing on.

Her movements were stealthy and graceful as she moved through the bare trees around their den. Delira was in full hunting mode now. This was something she was good at, and she didn't let much of anything distract her from it. Her bat-like ears stood up straight, picking up every rustle in the woods around them. She hoped for a large kill this morning. Bunnies and squirrels were fine, but a deer would be filling, and might even last a while.

She turned her face slowly to Ka'lak and whispered to him, "Delira is very hungry. Ka'lak and Delira should find something big they can take down together."

Ka'lak found himself sliding through the tight tunnel that lead to the surface, the piercing light of the sun bringing a paw to shield his eyes, a hiss being given to the dawn's light. He had never been to keen on venturing out within the day... but Delira was hungry,so he was willing to accept this change of pace.

"Ka'lak is very hungry as well...." He hissed, tongue sliding and flicking over the tips of sharp fangs, nose turning itself to the wind, attempting to seek out the "stench" of good prey. "Ka'lak believe we might be in luck... Stupid creatures are so easy to track, are they not?"

He seemed to grin, looking to his "mate" before turning in the direction of a newly caught scent... a come hither gesture being given to her before taking off in that direction.

Delira's lips stretched into an excited grin as she bounded off after Ka'lak. It delighted her to run alongside him, her fur blowing in the Autumn chill as Winter quickly approached. She allowed the sound of his and her tandem puffing the fill her ears as they raced toward the smell. It would be a good catch, and her mouth was beginning to water.

Then she saw something in the distance. It was the silhouette of large animal. Almost immediately Delira slowed and crouched low to the ground. Her dark body blended in with the dead and dying trees and bushes. Her eyes locked on their prey.

There was a form of delight found within the male as he ran beside his "mate" through the dense forest, the cool lick of the winter's wind blowing through ebony fur as they closed in on the scent. Today would be a good day... and there would be no Raven to get in the way this time around, that tongue sliding over fangs, eyes emitting a faint glow of blue.

Suddenly, just as fast as Delira, Ka'lak found himself skidding to a halt. There was something in the distance that sparked their interests, tongue once again sliding over fangs as he fell into the shadows of the trees. "Ka'lak feels this will be easy... does Delira not agree..?" He hissed softly, gaze trained on the creature before them, form drawing itself closer to the ground.

"Delira does think so!" she hissed excitedly, "Easy peasy," she stifled a giggle as her claws began to knead at the wet, cold ground. She was growing antsy with such an empty stomach.

Delira started to inch ever closer to the animal, its tall antlers coming into view. The deer was robust and healthy, but also looked a bit heavy. The chance of it being faster that Delira's small and agile form was slim. Her paw came down on a red, crinkled leaf. The crunch rang out across the woods and her pupils dilated. The time for stealth had ended.

Almost forgetting about Ka'lak beside her, Delira sprang forward. She caught the animal by the hind legs, using her teeth to tear out the ligaments that would allow it to continue the sprint it had tried to make. The animal fell hard on the ground, its eyes wide with pain and terror.

Delira looked up, finally allowing her giggle to escape as she turned her bloodstained face to the spot she'd left her beau.

Nothing had prepared Ka'lak for Delira's sudden assault on the deer, a sick sense of enjoyment being felt as she took the initiative to make the first move. "As Ka'lak said... this would be easy. Easy enough for Delira that is..." He hissed, sliding on his belly toward his "mate" and her kill.

Though she seemed child-like in her actions, there was still something truly appealing to her, Ka'lak's tongue sliding over her blood soaked face. "Ka'lak is impressed with Delira... She is truly strong to do this on her own." Another lick was given to her face, right paw suddenly slamming itself down upon the felled beast's trachea, crushing it beneath the force and snuffing the life from it.
