So Terra tried again. Ever so seriously she tossed in thing after thing, thinking that they would create something interesting--and still nothing happened.

She really didn't want to ask the short fellow with the eye problems for help, she thought with irritation. Maybe if she watched the others?

Maybe it would be best if she just threw a bunch of shiny objects in, and a little HINT of fire. Yes yes. Shiny and fire was good.

Fortunately for her, the gold seemed to meld together into one big pile of treasure, and even sparkled a little. Oh, oh that was right, wasn't it?

She waved her hands and said, "Hey! Hey did I do it?"

Evelyn was scribbling notes furiously in a nearly illegible handwriting - whether because she was simply writing too fast for her hand to keep up with, or because it looked like she was mostly favoring consonants half the time or devolving into what appeared to be gibberish here and there. Key words like 'swirlpool' were circled several times in glittery orange gel-atinous pen. S/he bit down softly on their tongue when the pen began to wriggle in their grasp and dropped it over the side of the desk. It half-rolled and half-inched toward Siddie's foot.

Rather than forcing themselves to retrieve it, Evelyn made a beeline for the supplies. It sounded easy enough, based on the formula they'd written down. With all the ingredients added together (at random - there was nothing to indicate what any of the powders were or meant) the ice demoness gave the jar a few hard shakes. For a moment they cast their gaze toward Erwin and smiled nervously.

The words 'Deus Ex' echoed from across the room and Evelyn froze for a moment, before redoubling efforts at vigorously shaking the bottle. They uncorked it to find that the mixture both looked and smelled like rotten eggs. The cork was hastily replaced. Somewhat concerned, they turned to the student next to them, who happened to be Danny.

"I-I am never have made inkjar before." Evelyn was trying to make awkward conversation. Her voice was feminine but with a very heavy accent, and her eyes seemed to brighten at the chance to look at her inhuman features - her horns, her fiery tail, her claws. Szczeosny had seen these creatures as nightmarish illustrations and an army horde, but this was the first he'd seen of them in their natural environment. He held the same fascination with their mimicry of humans as he would have if a dog stood up on its hind legs and started to talk. "You have?"

During his conversation with Jack, the teacher, teachers? had walked in and started explaining the process of making an Inkjar. It sounded easy enough, so Uller thought he would give it a go after watching a few examples to see how it was done. The Stag was determined to not fail at this!

So, following the instructions, he started to swirl the jar about but had forgotten to cork it. Thus, instead of making something, he ended up making a huge mess on the desk in front of him and he just puffed his cheeks out a little. Wonderful.

He would just try again.

"Harder than it looks," he muttered under his breath, little tail flicking in annoyance behind him.

He had added less color this time, or more, he couldn't remember and continued to follow the instructions as he recalled them. The good thing about Uller was he managed to have a pretty good memory when it came to classes.

Corking the jar this time, he swirled it delicately and watched it change into a multitude of colors. Oh. Well that was very interesting. Tapping it lightly, he looked for the teacher and tilted his head. "After failing the first time, I made.... a rainbow inkjar?" He asked, not completely sure that was the proper name for it. He didn't use Inkjars too much.

A little water and powder?? Was it really that simple?? the Famine colt wondered. Kiwi turned the tap, filling his inkjar partway with water. Then taking a spoon, he carefully began to measure two teaspoonfuls of the powder into the liquid. One cork-stopper and a few good shakes later, he stood back to watch.

...
...
......
Nothing. All it managed was a cloudy grey mess of liquid and powder particles. Hmmmm, perhaps a little less water would do.

Rikki peered at the powders available to them and had no idea what to do for them. So he picked a silvery one that was kid of the color of his chains, and an orange one that was kind of the color of Danny's eyes, and...

It didn't go so hot.

He frowned at Danny and her warm-ish jar, and shrugged. "I don't think he'd let me. He's a grump."

Kiwi grabbed another Inkjar, measuring more carefully as he filled it with water. Carefully measuring out two teaspoons of powder, he corked it off and shook the jar.

Again, it dissolved into an inky mess. By the Queen, this wasn't as simple as it seemed at all. He prepared a third jar.

Kiwi placed the jar below the tap, and assuring it was level, began to fill it til it was half-ful. Satisfied, he carefully measured out one, two teaspoons of powder, and retrieving a cork, stoppered the bottle. This time however, instead of shaking the inkjar, he turned it carefully in his hands, allowing the colored mixture time to stir about.

What resulted was the translucent blue image of wings inside the jar. ... A Deus Ex Inkjar?? ... He nearly dropped the vile thing, but then he wondered:

Could it possibly be used against the Hunters??

Okay so silver and orange didn't work out so hot. It was cool, it was cool. Really. Rikki would just.. glare at it a little until it did work properly.

When that didn't produce results he mixed some more vibrant colors, pleased with how colorful they became together. The result, much to his pleasure, became a fruit inkjar.

A look of serious concentration crossed Terra's face as she started sorting through all the things she could put in. This and this, she thought, bringing them closer to her, and this, and... the bottle, of course. She started pouring the various items into the empty jar.

A poof came, and she almost squealed in happiness as the bottle started glowing. Then she stared at it blankly. Poked it. Brought it up to look moe closely at it.

"I am not sure WHAT this bottle does," she finally admitted.

Though his first attempt had resulted in nothing more than a bizarre mess of--he wasn't sure what to call it, his second attempt at least looked decent.

"What is this... blue glittery s**t?" He asked allowed to no one in particular as he eyed the contents of the inkjar. Was it supposed to glow and shimmer like that?

The feelers! Why did everyone go for his feelers! They were damn sensitive! Letting out a shriek, the boil halted his advance towards the exit, in fear that Skald would rip them off--he probably would! "Ow ow ow ow! Okay! Let go already!" Though, the threat to make him drink the inkjars didn't sound half bad. In fact, he was actually quite curious on what they might taste like now.

For now, he gave in, followed by a small sigh and him reaching for one of the ingredients. Of course, he was no good at this class, and his work resulted in nothing happening. He was a pro at accomplishing nothing!

Taima grinned as Danny called her over and slid into the seat next to the flame demon just as class started. She listened attentively to the teacher's instructions--a little less so to the gnome's posturing--and snagged a bottle of her own. After she filled it with tap water and returning to her seat, she looked over the variety of brightly colored powders. They were pretty enough individually; maybe if she mixed a bunch of them together, they would look better! Taima carefully scooped up a little bit of several different colors, tapped them into the half-full inkjar, stoppered the bottle, and swirled it as they had been told to.

At first, the rich colors grew even more saturated, the powders drifting lazily in the water. They mixed to form different and even more vivid colors. It didn't look like any inkjar Taima had seen before, and for a moment, she thought that maybe this "art" thing wasn't so hard after all.

That hope died as the colors quickly started to fade. "Aw, no," Taima muttered in disappointment. She shook the bottle a little more, but that only made the colors disappear faster. Finally, the bottle was just as clear as when she had started--and appeared to be just as empty. If not for the weight of the bottle, she would have thought she'd never put anything in there to begin with. "Lame," she sighed, "I think I broke mine."
