There might have been sparkles happening in the moirail zone. Tomoko tried to not look too lost when Thackery came over to help her weigh in on things.

"Well... it's really hard to narrow things down..." she confessed. "I mean, I think I'm going to at least take the biggest bandages and the scissors so I can cut them smaller if needed..." she hmmmmed again, "that doesn't sound dumb, does it?" She asked. "I've never actually had to do any of this stuff this requires... I'm afraid to put in anything I don't know how to.use either..."

Tomoko considered Thackeray's statement about protecting things, nodding. "That'd be pretty nice. Then I'd have to learn to patch you up."

lol now the question is we choose poorly?

Lumikki's ears twitched as she heard the professors question. Blinking slowly a few times she wondered if anyone would answer the question. She clearly didn't know the answer, well not the one needed that is.

She knew chalk could be used in spells...she had seen a witch use it once in her village but it could also be used to write with. As far as the needle went she had no idea. Which was the biggest reason she didn't grab one.

Raising her hand she said quietly,

"is the chalk for writing? And possibly used to keep things out?"

At least that's what the witch used.

"Yes." The witch drawled in a careless fashion, less than willing to admit to a virtual stranger that finding happiness was a much more difficult task than it may seem. As for Shehk's second remark, that was only left with a head bob for another 'yes' seemed a bit repetitive. Two years had been a very long time ago, long enough to have morphed anyone into something nearly unrecognizable given half the opportunity. Still, Belladonna remained all warm smiles for the ghoul as she tilted her head to one side in a fond gesture.
"Yes, he is rather good at that looking out for others thing. But I dare say you're not half bad at it yourself." It was meant as a compliment in the vaguest manner as the witch did not really want to go about poking into odd subjects like 'Tell me all about sacrificing yourself!', but still wanted it known that she knew. Perhaps she would have said more had the class not begun, but that would have to be left for later.
Intently she listened to what Cricket had to say, even went so far as to let out the tiniest note of excitement over making her own first aid kit. That would be so helpful! And she could probably put stickers on it so it looked pink and maybe even go so far to tie a ribbon on it! Most excellent.

With one last smile to Shehk, the witch was up out of her seat and across the room to stare over the potential items. There were so many! And only 15 slots in her little box and the lid had to close and oh wait... This was harder than it originally looked.
For a long time Belladonna stood there and viewed her choices as though this were far more important than a simple first aid kit. Naturally, to her it was as she played out various scenarios in her mind of what each item would be used for and which would be better to pack, which could be improvised with the items given and which items would really do her no good.
Carefully she began to pick items up and place them in the book, but she still did it with caution and a far too serious expression.
At one point she finally paused to hold up the packet of saline, curiosity momentarily softening her features as she looked at Professor Cricket.
"What does this do?" Without waiting for a response she placed it in her kit before she looked back up at the teacher. After that she continued to assemble, eyebrows drawn once more down in concentration.

First Aid Kit

1) Gauze Pad x5 (medium)
2) Box of Bandages (varied sizes, contains 20 self-adhesive bandages)
3) Gauze Roll (medium)
4) Small bottles of antiseptic (which come with swabs)
5) Tube of anti-burn gel
6) Aloe Vera
7) A FEAR injection pen (similar to en Epipen IRL. Comes in sets of 2)
8 ) A bag of saline (Might need to ask Cricket how to use this one!)
9) Space blanket (Dad, are you space?)
10) The Red Potion - it smells sweet. Cricket says it works best topically.. which means don't drink it.
11) The Blue Potion - it doesn't smell like anything. Cricket says that may be ingested, but whoever drinks it might not like bringing up everything they just ate up in a few hours...
12) The Gold Potion - Cricket takes a small sip of it. 'It is particularly good against internal infections', she explains. Wait..what?
13) Medical Tape
14) A hot glue gun that seems to run on FEAR (ouch)
15) A syringe that is capped and has a thick orange liquid in it. Cricket seems hesitant to be giving it out to the students, but....

"No, that doesn't sound dumb!" Thackery quickly interjected. "Well, I mean, um. It's a smarter decision than I would've made, and it makes sense and stuff." He scratched thoughtfully at one of his ears, staring at the bandages she'd referred to.

And just kept staring, considering them for his own kit, until she mentioned patching him up. He smiled, warm and genuine. "We'd made a good team. An unbeatable team. Uh, well, even if they did beat me up, you'd fix it. So mostly unbeatable, since fixing it would kind of take it back. I think." That was probably how it worked.

"So, let's see...if you take big bandages from this box...what stuff is familiar to you from this one?" He pointed to the second box, which looked like it mostly held some gels and ointments and stuff. Easy things, for the most part.

Roch pulled out the orange vial, looking at it curiously. Then he raised his hand. "What's this do?" he asked--since clearly he didn't care if he seemed like a moron. It wasn't like she'd really explained the other potions that well, either, in his mind, so how was it any different?

Terra flushed, since she'd grabbed the chalk simply because she thought it was a way to keep track of what supplies you had used up in the kit. There hadn't been any pens, okay?

Alexander had been sitting quietly, waiting for the class to start, determined not to get distracted by anybody around him. He was being good, he was going to make a good impression, one way or another. Of course, a familiar voice would be shouting at him that he was in the way and nobody could see, which made the zomboil cringe, and then worry and fret about the fact that not only did his zombro draw all the attention towards Alex, but was he actually in everyone's way? He cast a quick, and worried glance behind him towards Mort, and in doing so caught sight of both Yin, who he guessed arrived after him, and his sister who was sitting in the back corner.

And of course, Belladonna was also in the back. Why was it his fault that all the short people had chosen to sit behind him? Clearly, they should have all sat at the very front of the classroom, like TG had. Not that TG was a good example, with the way he was displaying himself, obviously with inappropriate thoughts on his mind.

Still, if he was in the way.... But he didn't want to get up and move. That would just draw more attention to himself. So instead Alexander hunched down in his chair, not even giving Mort a response. He just ducked down, and hoped that everyone behind him could see.

And then class began, and Alex couldn't help but straighten himself back up in his chair. Screw everyone behind him. He needed to look presentable.

He thought it was a little sad that Nurse Cricket thought everyone just wanted to be a part of her class for the sex talk. Because really? Alexander could have done without it. He'd gotten enough of that from his own mother. If Yin hadn't dragged him to the last sex ed class, he wouldn't have even been there. Not that it wasn't useful knowledge to have, but just...no, learning first aid was preferable to trying out his skills in applying protection charms. There wasn't going to be a time when he was going to need to do that anytime in the immediate, near, or possibly even foreseeable future. He'd pretty much come to terms with that, and was okay with it.

Now these first aid kits though..these seemed particularly interesting. Alexander began assembling his own, though there were several items that he just...had no idea what they were. He heard the nurse answer questions on a few of them, which was helpful, but there were still a couple he didn't understand at all, which was distressing for him, because they might have been very important, or they might not have been something he'd have any interest in. He continued to select items to pack away. Large gauze rolls could be cut down to size, so that made sense to have other then the other two sizes. His hand wandered to the tube of anti-burn gel almost without thinking, for obvious zombie reasons. Antiseptic seemed pretty important but...wipes or bottles? Wipes could be used faster in an emergency he supposed but did the bottles hold more? The saline was explained when Yin asked about it, so Alexander added that to the growing pile of supplies.

He stayed far away from the purple potion after what Cricket said about it. Black potion...why did she just smile when asked about it? He shook his head and grabbed the blue instead. Sometimes needing to empty your stomach was a good thing, as he had learned in the past. Sheers were obvious, they would be needed for cutting the bandages.

And then the final box, which they were told they could only have one thing out of. He had no idea what any of the things inside of it were, except for well..the glowing centipedes, but he didn't know what use of them would be. Did they have some kind of healing properties? Could they summon the Nurse? He felt so out of his depth with this kind of thing, yet wasn't willing to just stop in case time ran out before he finished packing his case.

He just went with the centipedes. It seemed like a harmless enough decision.

First Aid Kit

1. Gauze Roll (Large)
2. Box of Bandages (varied sizes, contains 20 self-adhesive bandages)
3. Ace Bandage (medium)
4. tube of anti-burn gel
5. Small bottles of antiseptic (which come with swabs)
6. A FEAR injection pen (similar to en Epipen IRL. Comes in sets of 2)
7. A bag of saline (Might need to ask Cricket how to use this one!)
8. Fast acting cold packs (sets of 3)
9. Red Potion
10. Gold Potion
11. Blue Potion
12. Medical Sheers
13. Medical Tape
14. Thermometer
15. Cricket's own glowing 'centipedes'. They look to be 'babies', would be your guess. If you take them be careful. (You only get three. O_O)

Sophie looked over the items and thought carefully about what she should pick. Of course, she couldn't prepare herself for everything but she could at least make sure she was useful to those she would be around with - mostly his brother. It was likely that should Sophie or her brother ever be in a situation where one would need first aid, the other would be there with them.

The first box was relatively straight forward. Bandages; simple enough and the ghoul figured it would be a good idea to get a nice variety. So she picked out the box of varied, self adhesive bandages, a large gauze roll and a small ace bandage. She thought that perhaps it would have been a good idea to get the biggest of everything but she remembered how she'd gone with her beginners first aid training - using too many items over and over - and how Nurse Cricket had given her a dreadful look. Sophie had learnt her lesson.

The second box took Sophie a little longer to choose from. The first thing she grabbed was anti-burn gel. Given her.. dislike of fire it was likely that it would come and bother her in the future - especially given what she had seen of the school so far. She decided the bottles of antiseptic packaged ointment packets might come in handy as well, so she plucks them from the box and places them in her kit.

The third box confused her. Why would someone need an eye patch? Or a space blanket? What the heck was a space blanket anyway? From this box she took the FEAR pens and fast acting cold packs. They were the only things she deemed useful - or at least the only things she knew had any use. Into her kit they went. She grabbed the saline, too; mostly because she wanted to know how to use it and how it worked.

The fourth box intrigued the ghoul. Potions of different colours and uses. Of course she steered clear of the purple one. The last thing she wanted was to do some damage to a fellow undead - or spill it on herself. From this box she took the blue potion, the gold potion and the sweet smelling red potion. Their uses she had no idea of; but they seemed the less dangerous of the lot.

From the last two boxes, Sophie took the medical tape and the glowing centipedes. She wasn't sure what the centipedes did; but they were cute and pretty and if Cricket was using them they had to be good for something. Right? Happy with her choices, the ghoul returned to her seat at the back of the room and waited further instructions.

He had spent a fair amount of the time alotted standing in front of all the boxes, bioluminescent eyes flickering between all of the boxes, lightly brushing his hand through his goatee. This was srs business for the cat-king, because everything had a pretty good raison-d'être when it came to healing properties, but to be throttled by the request not to throw them all in his kit, he was stuck considering the weight and worth of every item before slowly picking each piece of the kit he was making.

Working his way down the line, he picked and chose from the first two boxes - gauzes and rolls, for the big stuff, and bandages for the little stuff. A space blanket - he learnt his lesson from the hyperthermia dummies that he was set agains, and some cold packs - a lesson from his stalker dummies again. Medical tape was a must, he decided, considering that he had all these gauzes and pieces of things he had to cut loose, (oh, sheers, he thought internally at this, picking up the scissors,) so he'd need to keep them from falling off, right?

Grabbing a few potions that sounded right (well, okay, one was really just very interesting and he was a cat, thus the natural attraction,) he peered over his kit before nodding and picking up the loose ends he figured could be needed. Injection Pens, some packages of anti-septics and finally, and very daintily, he picked up some of Cricket's centipedes, placing them in a little container that gave them a little room to roam in - he knew how the nurse was about her babies - he was like that with his cats.

"I think I'm done." He murmured, peering down at the contents, giving a curt nod, feeling good about himself.

Tomoko held onto her three big bandages (of sorts), cradling them in her arms as she looked into the next box with Thack, ears perking up. "Ummm.. I think.. that she pointed to one bottle, "is for burns... but then..." she pointed at the Aloe Vera as well "So is that...." her ears drooped as she tried to consider the differences. "But I think the antiseptic wipes would be a good idea." her ears perked back up again. "Cause wipes can fold to get into things if you need them too..." what kind of horrible wound was she imagining having to fix through a narrow space?

"Well, they'd have to be really strong to beat you, wouldn't they, Thackkun?" she asked, tilting her head. "'cause you're really strong - aren't all kings really strong and stuff?" she inquired. "But I'll be a good healer and patch you right up!" she put on her best determined face at this point, even if she was balancing an arm full of bandages and antiseptic wipes.

Cricket picked up a piece of chalk. "This," her tone was extremely firm, "is not to write or draw enchantments with. It is in general not a writing utensil, in fact." To illustrate her point, she picked up a bottle of the gold potion that she'd been sipping at and took a purposeful drink of it (...) before leaving it barely filled.

"Observe." she traced barely below the lip of the bottle with the chalk, before turning it over. Strangely enough, no liquid actually poured from the vial, but instead it seemed to hold onto it, refusing to move past that drawn line. "This chalk is a hydrophile. It will hold onto liquids and keep them from being able to leave the boundaries given by their container as well as this." she waved it again. "Hard to come by, don't waste it. If you keep the liquid and the outline separated," she turned the vial upside down again, "the chalk - which is a living organism - will begin to break down to try and reform the liquid into the space between it - essentially giving you a refill...at the expense of the outline. Which is why we do not eat the chalk. Imagine what it would do to stomach acid."

Also known as make you violently sick.

The inquiry about the orange liquid in the syringe caused Cricket to make a sickened face. "It burns through skin." she said simply. "And allows the removal of limbs painlessly by killing nerves. With that one syringe you can free someone from a trapped arm or leg, but it would not be something that they would regenerate."

"I'm disappointed that none of you actually asked me what these things were before picking them up. Which is a sign that I should not be giving you any of them."

Lumikki blinked a few times after the professor showed her what the chalk did. What a wonderful thing to have, but...she never would have known had the professor not asked. Wincing slightly as she looked down at her pack she looked back at the professor when she made comment about how no one had asked what the items were before they had been picked up.

Lumikki frowned, she hadn't even thought to ask the professor about the items, well other than what Aloe Vera was. Deciding that the professor might be right she slowly started again,

"If...If we asked what they were now...co...could we maybe earn the right to have them?"

She felt suddenly very silly for not asking in the first place.

Shehk balked at the idea of being good at looking out for anybody, looking away from Belladonna to hide the look of pain that came across her face, her shoulders shaking barely. "I'd prefer if my methods were more effective." she muttered, images of those she'd promised to save flashing through her head. Perhaps two of them had come back, but..... it wasn't enough to make things right again. Belladonna might have thought that her sacrificing herself to Red for the sake of the rest of them was 'noble' in some way, but Shehk frankly did it.

She'd done it with her own twisted hopes in mind.

However, it seemed that with Cricket leaving them to their own devices, Shehk was free to gather a few of the supplies they were being supplied, looking over them curiously. The first thing she needed, naturally, was the box itself, looking at the dividers she could set up inside of it, before looking in the boxes. From the first box she picked up the Large Gauze, Medium Ace Bandage and the Box of Bandaids, carefully arranging them inside of the kit she was holding to see what the most ideal divvying of room was while still making everything accessible.

The second box was a bit tricker of a pick, but with what she already had inside the kit, if she wanted to keep some of the bigger things, she had to pick a few smaller items, picking up the antiseptic wipes, the ointment packets and the anti-burn gel. She lingered on the burn gel for a moment, the space between her shoulders aching in memory. Burning, roaring, the smell of her own flesh burning. For a moment, she looked particularly traumatized, focusing on her kit to arrange things neatly once again.

From the third box, her decision was made much more quickly, 2 FEAR pens, a space blanket, and a set of fast acting cold packs. The fourth box was given a greater amount of consideration, however, shying away from the 'bad for undeads' potion like so many others had, and instead picking up the Red, Blue, and Black Potions. Maybe she should have asked about that black potion, but.... well, she'd find out what it did eventually.

The sixth box was completely ignored in favor of the fifth box, Shehk readily taking out the Medical Sheers, Medical Tape, and Hot Glue Gun. She couldn't imagine what she'd need to glue together, but overhearing Roch's comment about needing it once made her ponder how effective it was to glue one's own wounds shut. Hmm.

Never the less, with her items of choice picked out, Shehk quietly sat back down at the back of the room with them, organizing them meticulously.
