Veo looked at Akalia with both eyebrows up for a while before nodding and saying, "Very well". He took a seat and with a gentle pull, urged Akalia to sit closer to him. He listed off the things he wanted to say inside his head before looking back at her with the questions in his mind. "What is your name? I mean... I can't believe that is really your name. Is that your name? It sounds so...", he shook his head with an amused chuckle. It was clear enough for Veo to get what he wants yet vague enough to let her think he really knew. Of course, he heard her name before when he was 'investigating' who she was but sadly forgot it at some point so this was really nothing more than a bluff to get her to say her namee.

Akalia scooted her seat slightly closer to his at his insistence. Then rose her eyebrows at him. "My name is your first question?" She asked as the oddity of the question made her lose her composure slightly. "Hmm my name... Do mean before or after I left my home... Either way. I was going to go by Amelia until you caught me... But my name I'd Akalia Maser Joan d'Attre Leonin the third. Aftee my mother and grandmother." She said regaining her composure. She wanted to understand what he could possibly need or want her full name...

James hesistated when he was dismissed. Surely Robert had more important things to do than help James out, but he had to try. The worst Robert could do was say no. "Well umm...actually sir. I was kind of hoping that you would help me to plan a rescue mission." He said, sheepish at first, but managed to finish the sentence with enough confidence that it was what he wanted, but not too stern so that Robert would know it was a request and not a demand.

♠ Robert Bissette ♠

Robert stared at the prince flatly for a moment or two after the boy said that, carefully keeping his expression as normal as can be while feeling a pounding in his head the more he dealt with the royal. He needed to report this to the king immediately, but the boy was stalling him with talks of, what, a rescue mission? For who? The girl? True, Robert was curious himself, but the girl hadn't been significant – the prince should have been well versed enough in high society to know an important figure when he saw one. She was likely a simple peasant trying to come back to the village for some trinket or another and getting caught up in an attack – it happened.

A rescue mission.” He repeated as if he was mulling it over, although it was already a definite no. It would be a waste of resources and to send the prince off to frolic in the woods after a worthless girl – ah.. hm. Actually.. “Excuse my presumptions, your highness, but it would be for the peasant captured, correct?” He laced his fingers behind his back, “...It would not be my place to deny the Prince such an 'honorable' mission if he desires to do so.” He took a seat at the map table and set a hand on the area they currently occupied – the valley was in the midst of a forest that stretched into the Angel Kingdom and almost touched the capital of their own kingdom. It would take weeks to reach anywhere on foot without wings or magic. He returned his eyes to the Prince, “What did you have in mind?

James couldn't help but stare at Robert. He was expecting a ton of resistence to the plan, not for Robert to just say okay. After all rescue missions tended to take up resources and men; resources and men that would be needed for this war. "Wait, that's it? No arguments about how stupid a request that is? No talking about how it would be a waste of time and resources?" He asked now highly skepticle of Robert's intentions.

"Oh. So that's why", Veo said with a nod, carefully taking Akalia's hand, hoping not to be smacked in that beautiful face. He was quite vain, you see. And angel or not, women did outrageous things when they thought they were being violated. He landed a short and sweet kiss on her hand and said, "A pleasure to formally meet you. It is a long name, but quite beautiful. I feel as though I have fallen in love with every syllable of it". He grinned again, his expression a mixture of devilish deviousness and angelic innocence. The smile was sweet like a prince charming's love-struck smile. But the eyes said a completely different thing -- bold, wild, full of unspoken intention.

"Demon prince. Veo Volente", he said, gesturing towards himself with self-confident and haughty composure. It would have been just polite and perfect if he could only hold his tongue after that. But no. He needed to make a side comment, stemming from the narcissist within. "But I'm sure you already know who I am"

Akalia smiled slightly at his comments about her name and after he had kissed her hand she pulled it away quickly. "Excuse me, 'your highness' buy I do not like to be touched." She said the emphasis on the your highness was slightly sarcastic. She didn't like his smile. It kind of creeped her out. She smiled though, just to return his. She felt uncomfortable sitting there across from him while only that morning had she run away to fund the human. She looked around.

"Are there flowers ? Demonic national flowers I mean. Or something to that affect..." She asked casually though she wad honestly trying to change the subject from her name.
PostPosted: Mon Feb 25, 2013 3:59 am

Veo did not even notice the want to change subjects. He paid little attention to most things, you see. He had perked up and grinned in a self-content manner. He slid his thumb from his pinky to his pointer finger swiftly and when he had finished, there was a daisy in his hand. Magic. "Flowers? Here you go. Found it in the human kingdom whilst we were moving", he said casually, handing her the daisy. He had the casual subtlety of a magician. It was nothing to him. Just playing around. But the girls always loved it. Demon, human... Maybe angel. Guess there were some things similar across the races.

"But ours are quite different", Veo commented as he seemed to be sliding something out of his right sleeve. He opened his palm and revealed a speck of red emerging from his sleeve. He pulled it out more with his other hand and what came into view was what looked like a vibrant red flower, akin to a rose in that it had overlapping petals as well but it looked a little wilder with its stem black and the thorns, large and imposing. Veo held it carefully even so as to avoid being scraped. It looked animated, as though it could move. He did not know if he saw it right but he felt that Akalia was going to move her hand to touch it. "No, don't touch", he said, gently moving the flower closer to hiimself. "Very beautiful, yes? But they bite." He chuckled, "Like you... They can defend themselves with their thorns and not only that. They devour flesh and secrete acids when they feel threatened. But they are so beautiful, no?"

He then did a bit of subject changing himself. "Speaking of which, what does a lovely maiden like yourself like to do? We've got a week. Anything you want in the entire kingdom. Anything", he said, widening his eyes before they returned to their gentle and self-confident glow. For a brief moment, his eyes appeared feral, like there was a wildness behind his eyes.

♠ Robert Bissette ♠

A warmer man may laugh at the prince's antics, but Robert simply stared at the boy and waited for him to finish arguing against his own request. This wasn't really helping his image much, in Robert's opinion. He had initially thought the boy to just be dumb and not understand the costs of war, but it was looking more like he did know and was just selfish. Robert couldn't be surprised; royalty often was. “No, your highness.” He stated after the other had finished, “However, though I am supporting this mission, I request you use as minimal of resources as possible.” He waited a beat as he considered what would constitute a 'minimum'. “...A small squad. Five. Take my squire along for communication. I would like updates on your mission status.” It would be nice to get rid of the jittery boy he had under him as well.

James sighed slightly. It was obvious Robert was simply trying to amuse him. "Of course. Five at the most, including me. Any more and it would be harder to sneak around and avoid fights. Though I would think four would be a better number for a rescue mission, for if we do rescue the girl that would bring our number to five. Then we could take enough resources to support four and a half people, the girl would only tag along for half the trip after all, and it should still be relatively easy to avoid conflict. And umm...sir. I was kind of hoping you would tag along. Believe it or not, but this mission could actually prove vital towards ending the war." James said confidently, and added the last bit as a way to help get Robert to join him on this mission.

((Weeeee rescue mission!!!! Sorry got really sick and found out that my pc had to be sent to Dell to be fixed....))

Akalia had indeed been tempted to touch the flower. She had enjoyed the daisy but thus flower... It was so unusual to what she had ever seen and she was so very interested in it. She retook her fidgeting hand when he told her what it did. He even seemed to hold it carefully, which surprised her. She was so curious about this flower. When he brought up the question of what she liked to do a grin flashed across her face. "I like to garden, and sew and crochet... Not really. I like to practice. I like to go outside and take out any frustrations I may have on dummies or other... Beings. I like to ride. Human horses are so slow, I prefer the angelic stallion. Yes they are pegasi but I like to run the grounds not the air. I like to practice my magic. Angels may not be that inclined to magic but there are a few." She said picturing herself among the only twenty there were in the kingdom she lived in. She blushed slightly.

"I also like to paint."

Veo chuckled, quite amused by the streams of thoughts that left those lush lips. He stared at them a little, his fingers edging by his chin. But he looked back into Akalia's eyes and was still rather amused. He was a man of many talents himself, so he too got a little giddy at the prospect of finding someone to do these things with. "Hm..." Veo was in deep thought, looking elsewhere for the moment. Then, he looked back and said, "Well, we've got a week. I'm sure we could cover everything. Tell you what? how about horseback tomorrow, magic the day after, then fencing, then I could take you around the gardens if you like. But forgive me. I am not the biggest fan of crocheting or sewing. Not a very masculine thing to do, you know?" As usual, he would have almost sounded nice but he just had to end that last sentence with a condescending tone, hadn't he?

Akalia couldn't hide the excitement of having someone else to practice with. Before she hid the enthusiasm that was guaranteed with an angel. She smirked. "And what are we to do today?" She asked. It was anything really to get him talking and give her more time to decide how she would try and contact her guardian. She crossed her legs in her blouse and dressy pants. She hadn't wanted to wear a dress for her adventure out of her own life. But here she was. Being pushed back into it except she was being forced to marry the demon prince instead of the human prince that the war was over.

"You're right! We still have half the day" Veo said and added "But it doesn't matter. Day looks like knight around here"

He then held out his hand to her after standing up and offering her a hand, "Would ye like a tour of the kingdom, mi'lady?" He was being quite charming despite any protest he might hold inside of him. He copied the accent of foolish lower-class humans who tried to copy the accents of the rich and educated. It was quite a hilarity if one could only notice the social pun.

Giving his hand a wary look, she stood and took his arm. She was rigid for awhile though. "Alright sir, lead the way." She said trying to keep up the charade.
