-----ι guess I hadn't realized just how exhausted I was. Morning found me slumped on my side rather uncomfortably over the katana, curled up against the wall. Also, I was freezing. The night before, I hadn't considered that the temperature dropped at night. In fact, I hadn't considered much of anything I now regretted. Like my head throbbing. Groaning, I pushed myself upright, pressing a hand to the side of my head. Rubbing my bare arms to shake the cold out of them, I stood and gathered my things. It was only then I actually remembered I had a jacket, and I pulled it on quickly. Searching around quickly for anything I might have forgotten, I headed out of the remains of the bar to find Wanryoku.

Even if I hadn't known Kazumi and Viktor well, they were still friends. -----I pushed the thoughts aside and turned to make sure Samuru was still behind me before leading the way inside. The last time I'd been there, Wanryoku had somehow managed to find a cask of ale still intact, and I'd had my first taste of alcohol. Now the place was brand new, not a trace of the attack left behind. I sat at one of the empty tables near the door, facing the door to watch it, and gestured for Samuru to join me. "Get whatever you want. I'll pay for it." It was the least I could do after giving him a panic attack.

Sitting back with a sigh, I shook my head when the waitress looked at me. I wasn't hungry, really, just needed sleep. My gaze traveled around the room, observing the few other people in the room. It wasn't a lunch rush, just what looked like the leftovers of one. Okay, so I'd dragged Samuru out of his apartment, but now what? Sure, I was a bit more social than him, but I wasn't exactly that great with people either. I traced the lines in the wood of the table subconsciously with a finger for a long moment before I managed to come up with anything to say. And it wasn't really worth it. I just didn't want to leave it at an awkward silence. "I've been gone for the past two months... Has anything happened here at all? It seems... quiet."

Given my experience with Damien, it definitely seemed plausible that was who he was talking about. I frowned at the memory. "He gave me some attitude too. Something about not doing favors for anyone." Leaning forward, I rested my head on my arms. The change in mood gave me some energy I sorely needed, but I was still exhausted. I gave Samuru a questioningly look. "What were you doing in a cave?" Fear of the dark aside, it didn't seem like the most appealing way to live.

Then he got defensive and rude...it spiraled." another laugh escaped him, wheezier and less pronounced than before but still there "...remember what I said about not being able to run? From before when you asked..." he used a single thin finger to move his dumpling around the plate, feeling the heat through the dough "Its part of that. I was trying to...communicate with something. And meditation was one suggestion. Pain was the other....neither, so far, I have been able to accomplish....I was in that cave for 7weeks, Kaileer." he shoved at the plate in disgust and let his head fall back, throat exposed as he sighed "The moment I leave, I get in a fight with that kid...waste of time...." -----ιt took a half-second to register what exactly Samuru had asked, and even then I wasn't sure I'd heard right. The grin slid off my face. "Uh...what?" I sat up straight again. The subject was agitating Samuru, or at least that's what it looked like. I had to tread carefully again. "Intentionally hurt you?" I could understand his frustration. Trying to communicate with something for so long. Communicate? What was he communicating with? Something in the cave he mentioned? I wasn't entirely sure about that. I settled for trying to get more information rather than giving him an immediate answer to his question. "What... is it you're trying to contact?"

[✠]His fingers stopped and Samuru lifted his head, looking at Kaileer from under his bangs, silently judging his reaction. It was the same one that the boy from the dojo had had...was it really that weird a request? In Konoha, you barely had to ask and someone was throwing you threw a wall "Yes. Meditation and pain are the only two ways of getting the attention of this thing." as for what he was trying to contact...at first, Samuru merely started eating the little bits of dumpling he'd shredded, licking the sauce from his fingers as it got on them. He wasn't sure how well Kaileer would react to what Samuru was going to say but....he supposed if someone knew, it should be someone he trusted "I'm....the Nibi host." it was said calmly and quietly, only loud enough for Kaileer to over hear. He had to contact the damn thing in order to begin learning how to further his own goals....but now...he paused, one finger pressed to his lips. His goals were no longer....important? Jae had saved herself. He had no idea what had happened with his siblings or even if they had survived the attacks. His hand came to rest on the table, Samuru's eyes downcast as he looked at the knuckles What is my purpose now... looking up at Kaileer, he attempted the crooked smile again but only managed a small grimace "I'm told I have to talk to the thing...so that's what I'm going to do."[✠]

-----мy eyes widened, but when I thought about it, it made sense with what Samuru had told me so far. He said he couldn't run, and that was because he was the two-tailed Bijuu's host. If he tried to run, he would probably be hunted down and dragged back. But... I might not have followed all of their training and disowned the name, but I was a Hakemoto, so I knew some about the Bijuu. In fact, even though I didn't hold the same hatred, the Hakemoto clan was known for their ability to dispel demon chakra. -----I rested my head on my hands and watched Samuru thoughtfully. "Have you heard of the Hakemoto clan? They specialize in combating the Bijuu, even though there aren't many of them left. I'm one of them." Sighing, I closed my eyes briefly and switched to one hand before further elaborating. "I can do the favor for you. But first I have to learn one of the 'states of being' the clan is known for. I want to have it ready just in case it gets out of control for some reason." Opening my eyes again, I looked back at the jounin. "Maybe there isn't a risk of something happening... But I don't want a repeat of what happened before. I hope you understand."

[✠]Samuru looked up as Kaileer spoke, unfamiliar with the clan that Kaileer was speaking of. Combating the Bijuu...he took the remains of his dumpling and finally started eating it like a normal person "....thank you." not even Daitomi had been given as sincere a thanks as that. He didn't look up from his plate as he ate, absorbing the rest of what Kaileer said "If something does happen, I'd be glad to have you there to do something about it." he took another dumpling but, again, didn't eat it and just put it down on the plate.[✠]
