Pokerus had to try very, very, very hard to suppress the urge to bite Selene's tail.

"I'll t-try," Maple muttered in response. Of course, Miss Selene's tail put a halt to that by tightening up the knots once more.

The little witch growled uncharacteristically under her breathe as she made to undo what was done.

muttering under her breath (something about motherjacking snakes in her motherjacking knot ball), Poke tore as the remainder of the ball, pulling out a fair few knots. There was only a few left now, thanks to Maples assistance.

That little fire inside went out a little, Maple was unable to get out more knots even though they were so close!

It's okay Maple. Poke's got your back. Just about having enough, the dragon tore into the ball with a snarl, her claws shredding through the rest of it and leaving it bits of rope and twine everyone, breathing heavily as she even chewed the rest of it to bits.

The knot finally came free, only to reveal that the reason it was so difficult was because it was two knots strung together. Selene caught them before they fell, holding the two knots out - one to each of them. Would they now have to try and untie these as well?? Would their knotty nightmare never end?

"Congratulations!" Selene whispered, her eyes watering with pride. "You have both moved on to your next year, with the help of-" She leaned in and her whisper grew reverent. "Teamwork."

Underneath each knot, which she was simply giving to them as souvenirs of their struggle, was her pin.

Maple thankfully got her hands out of the rope just in time before Poke basically destroyed the ball of knots. The little witch wished she could be as cool, doing something as amazing. "You d-did it," there was utter relief in her tone and tears were stinging at her eyes now that this trial was done. Done, donedone.

The ghoul wanted to sink into the ground and never see a knot again in her life. And of course, no such luck as Miss Selene handed them one each. Maple stared at hers with a sour look, but it melted away a little as their instructor's words washed over her (and realizing there was a pin under those knots).

She had passed. SHE has passed something. Maple wanted to break into tears right then and there, "Th-thank you," the witch whispered as she looked over to Poke with a meek little smile on her face. Really, she couldn't have done it without the other ghoul so the words were really expressed to them both.
