"Enki..." Zecora started, her voice dead serious. "We are already gray." Her expression was flat for a moment before it broke into a small smile. Enki had a good point and she would try to stop thinking about it. "Ah yes... dose crazy fairies." She frowned, it had concerned her the way they were hacking away at the forest, even after they had tried to clear the air. She shook her head, it was no matter now. Perhaps they would find the group when the fairies began trying to hack down their tree.

Zecora let silence fall between them, thinking about their adventure so far. Enki had been so protective for her and helpful. She wasn't used to that kind of thing, mostly because of her hermit-like lifestyle. Zecora was not used to being looked after like that. She wasn't really sure what she would have done with out him, hooves and remedies only got one so far. She took a bite of her mango and glanced over at the male beside her and smiled softly.

Enki froze as Zecora got stern with him. Oh spirits what had he done to upset her? He listened to her words carefully...Before busting out laughing at her joke. "Ya I forget that sometimes." He said running his hand through his hair. He chuckled lightly and relaxed again. With the dangers of the jungle below them there was not much he was afraid of at the moment at least.

Enki just happened to look over to Zecora as she glanced at him, returning the smile to her. "What are you thinking about now hmmm?" At least she seemed more relaxed now. That was a loud off of his mind.

Zecora couldn't help but blush when he asked her what she was thinking of. "You are most..." Zecora paused, trying to think of the right word to describe all that he had done for her and how he had treated her. "Amazing." she summed up as she quickly buried her mouth in the fruit to hide her expression and embarrassment.

Enki nearly choked on his mango as he sat strait up. He had not expected her to say such words to him in his wildest dreams. Did she really just call him amazing? She just called him amazing. That's some word, amazing. Ok, just keep calm boy. It's not every day a beautiful girl calls you amazing. In fact, no one calls you amazing. Ever. Ok ok. Just play it cool Enki. You can handle this, right? His mind raced as he couldn't help but blush a little. "Umm thank you Zecora...You are quiet stunning in the moon light yourself."

Smooth.

It felt like a piece of mango was lodged in her throat... but nope that was just her throat. She had been talking about the amazing things that he had done for her, but he... he had taken it a step further. Stunning in the moonlight, that wasn't a complement of her abilities or talents, that was a complement of herself. Stunning? Not a word she was often called. Strange... mysterious... exotic was probably the most flattering. Zecora was... oddly silent for once. But what did one say to that?! In all of her wisdom... love and matchmaking was not part of it.
"That is very kind of you t'say." What? What was that?! Probably the stupidest thing she had ever said in her life. She feigned a yawn to save herself from dying of embarrassment. "I am most tired now, aren't you?"

Enki's ears fell. Crap. He had messed up didn't he? He flushed as he looked to his mango, an odd silent falling between the two. Crap crap crap crap. He blew it. Worst day ever. Sure, he had made compliments to her the first time they met but now that he knew her better and had been through all this stuff with her, he really did mean it.

'Huh?" Enki snapped out of his own self kicking as she spoke to him and nodded. "Ya. Go ahead in. I'm not that tired so I think I'll just, look at the moon some more."

"Alright..." There was a solemn tone to her voice as she stood up. She knew her response was not the best. It probably would have been better for her not to say anything at all... no, that might have been worse. Zecora went back into the cottage and curled up in the bed-sack. She looked forward to sleep, and hopefully the awkward moment would be forgotten in the morning or maybe she would figure out some brilliant recovery by then. Either way, she slept.

Enki nodded to her before mentally kicking himself. Oh he just wanted to fall from this tree and die from embarrassment. She was his friend...He suppose that was the end of it. He sighed to himself and simply just watched the moon and the stars in the sky. Tomorrow had to be better right?

When Zecora awoke in the morning she would find that Enki had not joined her. He would be found in the same spot as last night, sleeping as the sun was rising over the trees.

Odd. Zecora slowly sat up in bed and found herself completely alone. There was no one else even in the same hut as her. Her heart raced. She had already learned that Enki was not an early riser, there was no way he had gotten up before her and left. Had he never joined her? Zecora's heart raced, the zebra was fully awake now as she blew through the door of the hut, enough that the already fragile was no longer attached to the frame, though it did not go flying far. She abruptly dug her hooves into the floor to stop herself as she caught sight of Enki out of the corner of her eye. Her heart was still racing but she stopped and took some deep breaths. "Oh dear..." she was not sure what she would have done.

Enki was startled awake from all the commotion that Zecora had caused. "Huh what what's going on?" He jumped to his feet though he still wasn't fully awake. He put a hand to his head as he tried to steady himself, the sudden rush of jumping up made him dizzy. When he got some sense back into his head he stared at Zecora for a moment before speaking "Are you ok?"

Zecora put a hand on Enki's arm to help stabilize him when she realized he had gotten up too fast. "My apologies for waking you Enki." Zecora took a deep breath. "I was just concerned, seeing that you had not come inside last night. But all is right now that I know you are safe." Zecora felt bad for waking him once again. At this rate, Enki was never going to get any sleep while they were together.

She was worried about him? Enki couldn't help but smile slightly. He thought about saying something but shook his head and steady himself. "I was think last night...We should spent today gathering food and anything usable so we can head out tomorrow. Between the 'gifts' of nuts and the mangoes near by it shouldn't take that long to fill the bags we have." Artemis knew how long they would be traveling or when they'd fine food again. At least they'd be following the water, edible items shouldn't be THAT hard to find. "One last day in the trees Zecora?"

"Yes this is a good idea. We should prepare to move on. There is not much more we can reap from here." Sure, it was mostly safe, except for rogue nuts flying at them from the monkeys. They did have a somewhat steady supply of food provided by these trees. But if they never left, then it would be just that. As nice as that may or may not be, Zecora felt like they would both be happier if they returned. "I wonder how long it might take for us to find our way back..."

((HELLO MY NAME IS TWITCH AND I AM A FORGETFUL TERRIBAD! ))

Enki looked out into the jungle ahead of them. It stretched for as far as he could see. "Could be a few days of travel, could be a few full moons of travel. I'm not too sure." Enki fluttered his wings slightly before looking over to his friend with a smile. "We'll get there when we get there. That's for sure." It was all he really knew for sure. "As long as we keep together we should be fine. We've proven ourselves to be able to fend off that cat thing after all." Two were better than one after.

Enki paused to look to the rising sun in the sky, the jungle below seemed to be covered in a slight mist from the night. He closed his eyes and thought. They had a lot of work to do before they left, and only a day to do it. More so, what if anything happened while they were traveling? What if anything happened to her? That nagging thought was going to keep him up at night, that was sure. Then again, she was strong. Maybe stronger than him. Nah, they'd be fine. It could be a long boring trip, but they'd make it together.

Enki couldn't help but grin. "Just one more adventure. That's all this is."
