Saoirse really couldn't pass up this bargain the keep was offering her. How hard could it be to escort this youth around for a few hours? She weighed the pros and cons of the offer in her head silently as she continued to watch their interaction. Nodding her head, she finally made her mind up but was startled when the man named Kuse started talking about a pack before handing her back the dagger. 'Pack? So that must be why all the scents are muddled.'

She carefully tucked away the beautiful black dagger in her belt before smiling beautifully at Kuse. She heard how he twisted the words around as so not to offend her or the youth's pride and she couldn't help but be slightly charmed.

"Well I do need a guide, someone who knows their way around this city. I would be honored for your Cass to show me around while he does his errands." Saoirse said with a wink to Kuse as Cass waked towards the front of the alley. Leaning forward, she lightly touched Kuse's arm and lowered her voice. "And thank you." she said before letting go and walking towards Cass's side. She may not understand all human interactions yet, but she was far from stupid. She knew she was getting the better end of this bargain and would take anything she could get right now. And this was definitely far better than the alternative.

Saoirse followed young Cass quietly for a few minutes all the while looking at their surroundings, making notes of the people watching them.

"Your pack mate called you a cub, and your scent is feline for the most part, but I can not place it. Are you a half-breed?" she asked lightly as she took in a deep breath to completely familiarize herself with his scent. You know, just in case they got separated, she would be able to find him again.

Felix Reilly - Titus Kain

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

After having been gone for ages on mission, Felix and Titus could honestly say it felt good coming back home, though truthfully their new home was with the Re, but the merchant shop that Emilia runs on the side made for an excellent hideout when they needed to rest their heads for a while. Both of them didn’t say much while they walked through the market in the direction of the shop, Felix ever reminded of the fact that the people here were too friendly for their own good which in a way wasn’t so bad, but for the friendly faces asking why they were toting around the kind of ordnance they were holding was well problematic, but easily avoidable.

As they walked Titus caught sight of someone new and started lagging behind as he whistled in amazement of her beauty. Felix realizing that his subordinate was starting to draw too much attention to himself spoke up “Titus! Let’s go you can chat with the locals after we’ve stowed this gear away” Titus sighed slightly and replied “on your six commander” he caught up with him knowing full well that you only see a beautiful woman like that once in a blue moon and would likely not see her again.

They continued walking through the market for some time before they reached the shop Emilia owned and went inside the gentleman who ran the shop while Emilia was away smiled when they walked through the door “Felix! Titus! Welcome back trust everything was productive?” Titus shrugged as he headed towards the door to the backroom where they used to operate from while Felix stepped over to the counter and replied “well enough I suppose, business is business after all, how have things been?” the man smiled “business has been good, though we are starting to run low on supplies” Felix nodded and replied “very well I’ll send Emilia over when we get back to base and have her assist in getting things situated” the man nodded “very good sir, do note we are still able to operate normally for now but I would estimate that we have maybe two to three weeks left of supplies to sell before all merchandise is exhausted” Felix started walking towards the door to the backroom and replied “duly noted Emilia will be over long before supplies run out to assist in resupply and restocking shelves” at that felix went into the back room and simply sighed when he saw how empty it was, Emilia didn’t waste time getting all their essential equipment moved over to the Re Base, though not everything some supplies and equipment was left behind on the off chance that they used the location again they would at least have the means to rearm and resupply, as well as have a place to sleep. So Felix dropped off the ordnance by the rifle racks and then fell into his cot and just laid there for a moment before he took his gear off and put it aside so that he was much more comfortable as well as so that he could have easy access to his equipment should the need arise, Titus was already in his own little world by his cot so Felix left him to do whatever he wanted since they were off duty for a while before they hauled a** back to the Re Base, Felix didn’t waste much time falling asleep since it had been a while since he had the opportunity to actually sleep in a real bed.

lol Thanks. We do our best.

Cass gave a soft laugh as they walked around the marketplace, "Oh Kuse isn't pack. He's a human. But he's been around a while so he knows about the pack. We're called a pack, but it's more like a whole lot of different shifters in a group instead of just wolves or something like that. I'm a cougar, but I'm still young so they call me a cub. Haven't gotten rid of all my spots yet. Wind found my by their back door when I was real little and took me in. Egan declared me part of the pack and I've been there ever since," he explained before he led her into another shop.

This one carried different spices and herbs and he collected a good sized parcel that he put into the bag at his side. As he came out and continued on his way, he resettled the weapons bundle at his back and got everything settled so that it carried comfortably.

"After this I got one more stop to make then I'll show you to the packhouse," he explained as he led her around to a shop that was more subdued but carried a wider variety of items. He led the way inside and left her to explore a bit as he ducked into the back.

Unfortunately, this shop was run by one of the few shifters that Egan had not allowed into the pack. He hadn't trusted the python and had made sure that he'd known about it. Especially after the python had cornered Egan's mate in the kitchen once. But that made it hard for the youngsters to pick up the items that were only sold here, though they hesitated to tell Egan about it.

As she looked around, Cass came out of the back room with more stuff to take back, but with his head down as he led the way out of the shop. His whole body was curled up a bit around himself and his hair hid his face from her. But it wouldn't have been hard to hear it when he'd gotten smacked in the back room, though Cass hadn't cried out at all.

Still, he might have to explain this one to Egan since he was fairly sure that everyone would notice the black eye when it finished coming up.

"That's it Dama... We can head over to the pack house now..." he said softly without looking up. He didn't like it when he got smacked around by people like the python, but he didn't want anyone to pity him either.

Saoirse noticed the attention that their pair was drawing as they walked around the marketplace. She placed a loose hand on the new blade she had tucked away at her side since her other weapons were strapped to her back at the moment. She wasn't use to so much attention like this and it was making the hair on her nape start to stand up. She didn't know if it was because of her since she was new, or if it was because of the cub she was with. Either way didn't sit well with her.

She caught sight of a male tagging behind her and Cass out of the corner of her eye and turned most of her senses onto him, all the while still keeping her eyes out for anyone else who might approach. Well, at least she did until he was suddenly called away by another male that was just outside of her peripheral. Mentally cataloging the strange male's scent, she refocused on exactly what Cass was saying.

"Oh, you're Alpha is very strange. I have never met one that has taken in other breeds into their clan." Saoirse said as she tilted her head in thought.

She looked at him after a few minutes when he finished telling her about being found and taken in, and she couldn't help but feel her heart swell just a little bit. She knew what it was like to be orphaned and could sympathize with the young cub, even if he made it seem like he wasn't bothered by it. 'Probably because of this Wind female..'

Saoirse went to say something else, but Cass darted inside another shop before she could. Her nose wrinkled as she followed in after him because of the stale odor inside. It smelled strongly of reptile and unwashed body odor, which was a nauseating aroma. Saoirse tried not to breath to deeply in as she waited for Cass to come back out and when he finally did, she followed him as quickly as possible.

"Was that another one of your packma..What's wrong with your face?!" she started to ask the young cub when she caught a shadow on his face, that he was trying to hide from her. Grabbing his arm, she pulled him to a stop and made him look at her. Underneath his hair was a nice size bruise, darkening his skin.

Saoirse suddenly growled as her eyes swiftly turned slitted and shone a burnished gold. She could feel her claws and fangs lengthening as she twirled on her heel to go back towards the a*****e who had put his hands on the cub. She hated bullies, especially ones who harmed kids. She'd told Kuse she would look out for Cass, and that was exactly what she was going to do.

Cass went into full panic mode, his eyes wide and his heart racing as he moved between her and the shop, "Please don't, Dama! Please! There's another way! Please!" he begged her softly, clearly hoping that she'd listen.

He looked around a bit frantically and found someone to help, "Griz! Please don't let her! I know he's a bully, but there's another way to get him and I don't want her hurt like Wind was! Please!" he called out to a very large male. As he approached, his pace could only be described as lumbering. He was big and wide, but not fat; he had a thick beard and honey brown hair pulled back into a ponytail. He was wearing a black t-shirt, black jeans, shitkicker boots, and a dark trenchcoat. In short, he looked like an old-fashioned Hell's Angel's Biker without the Colors Vest.

He looked down at Cass' face then up at the appropriate shop, and only then looked at the female as he put a very large hand lightly on her forearm to invite her attention to himself, "He's right. There's another way. Give him a chance. The boy's got more tricks than Coyote himself," he said in a deep but strangely soothing rumble of a voice. His scent read him as a bear of some kind; his size placed him in the larger categories of bear. In short, he was big enough to put her somewhere and keep her there. But all he'd done was put that one hand lightly on her arm, "Take care of the cub. The bully will get his justice over this. I give you my word. Take him on to the pack house. You will see," he added, his voice still just as soothing as before.

Cass was clearly in a panic over her going after the python that had hit him. He knew she could fight and defend herself, but his panic had nothing to do with her skills and everything to do with being a young orphan...

Saoirse marched her way towards the shop they had just exited and towards the reptile shifter who dared threaten her charge, all the while pulling poor Cass with her. He was only a cub and in her anger, she barely felt his attempts in getting her to stop. 'I'll show him what it's like to put your hands on someone weaker than yourself!' she fumed to herself with another menacing growl.

She however came to a complete stop when a mountain of a man got between her and the shop. He was a good several feet taller than her and had a whole mountain range of muscles. She temporarily forgot her anger as the strange male put his hand on her arm. She followed the length of his arm up across his chest and slowly took in his very masculine face. She was so shocked by the touch of this male and the look of him that it took a few minutes for her brain to register what he was actually saying.

"Excuse me?" Saoirse said as her eyes narrowed and she twisted out of his grip. She took a step back from him to give herself some space, only then realizing how close Cass was to her and how he was practically hanging off of her body.

She felt her heart seize up before melting at the panicky look on his face and the erratic beating of his heart that she could practically hear. She was so caught up in her anger that she let her temper get the better of her. She was better than this.

Saoirse shot another contempt look at the stall behind the mountain of a man, before turning her burning gaze on said mountain man. She could tell that her eyes were still that of her lions, and it would be that way until she fully calmed down. But at the this moment, she didn't care.

"I am responsible for this cub at the moment, so I will not pursue that cairdeach dúr. But do not think this is over." she finished with another growl before gently taking Cass' hand in her own.

Cass gave a soft rumbling purr when she let it go and took his hand. He pressed her hand to his cheek and rubbed it against his cheek a bit, "Thank you, Dama, thank you," he said softly, simply thanking her over and over for a long moment.

The larger male, apparently named Griz, simply gave her a nod of respect as he pulled his hand back to himself, "It will be taken care of. I give you my word on it, Dama. Just let the boy take you to the pack house and you will see. Simply walk with him for a bit and he should calm down the rest of the way," he said softly to her, deliberately drawing attention to how stressed Cass was.

The boy was treating her like a dominant he'd upset. Rubbing his cheek against her hand as if begging for attention in some way. Alot of the behaviors for shifters were universal. One of the biggest ones was needing touch when they were stressed, followed closely by begging for forgiveness for upsetting a dominant.

But Griz had tried to give her the impression that there was something else upsetting Cass, something that very few knew about. But it was related to her in some way that tied into his past, before he'd come to the pack. The larger male gave her a nod of his head and a small smile as he looked her over for a moment, "I think Egan would like you, Dama... You are much like him... In ways that I like to see. He had to follow the rules in dealing with the snake, understand that. But by striking Cass as he did, he's tied his own noose. Wind has been good for our Alpha. As a shifter, Wind is useless, he's so submissive and traumatized. But as Egan's mate, he's perfect. He's shown us that it's not a bad thing to be submissive or to be low in the pack's rankings. He's more of a mother to the pack's cubs than any female could be and is raising no less than five that are promising to be Alpha's. We don't know where Cass will fit in yet, but Egan's taken him under his wing and taught him some skills that would have prevented that black eye if Egan hadn't told him to keep his skills quiet..." he explained to her as he got them moving to prevent a crowd from gathering.

While Cass was still a cub, he'd been given a weapon that wasn't safe in inexperienced hands, if she'd recall. But while he'd be very skilled in dagger-work, it wasn't something one advertised. And Cass was, in fact, still very young...

Saoirse allowed Cass to pull her along the path with large male trailing next to them as she listened to him talk about their Alpha and his mate. 'His mate is male? How curious..' she thought to herself distractedly as she took in everything the male was telling her.

"There are no females taking care of the cubs? Why not?"
She asked as she continued to watch Cass rub his cheek against her skin. He was being so submissive, but underneath she could still faintly smell his fear and she felt terrible for having a hand in causing it.

Narrowing her eyes in thought before the guilt could swamp her, she turned to look at the mountain man. Her eyes were slowly turning back to normal, so she knew her lioness was settling down. She was still on the alert for any more danger, but the maternal instinct had kicked in and right now, all her lioness could do was focus on the cub.

"I am not part of your pack, so if your Alpha can't put the reptile in his place, I'd be more than happy to do it for him." she said with a small scowl.

"No more harm will come to him while he is with me, though I swear it. My lioness will not allow it, so do not worry. I will get him to this pack house of yours. And I will stay long enough to see that cairdeach handled." Saoirse said as she looked down with Cass, her scowl softening out. She would make sure he was protected. Even if it meant that she'd have to stay longer than she had originally planned. She only hoped that her brother didn't find her in the meantime, but she couldn't leave Cass without knowing for sure he would be alright.

From here, you can post to the pack house. You can do an exit post here and post there, or you can just post there. Your choice.

Griz noted how unfocused that Cass was and led the way to the packhouse himself knowing that it would be easier on the cub if they got there sooner rather than later. He acknowledged the female's words with another small smile and nod, allowing her sense of responsibility where Cass was concerned.

"It isn't that none of the females are taking care of the cubs. Far from it. All of the pack's little ones are taken care of better than I've ever seen in other packs or groups. Their mother's care for their young ones very attentively. I think it's just that Wind knows he will never have young of his own and cares for the rest of the little ones as if they were his own. He has a very big heart and a soft spot where the little ones are concerned.

"Before he was mated to Egan, he was mated to an alpha in the pack that previously called this place home. They were killed through treachery and it nearly destroyed Wind. Only the fact that Wind's previous mate had fathered cubs with a willing female kept him alive. He stayed alive to raise those cubs and he's considered their father despite having no blood to bind them. All of those that come to us without parents are adopted by Wind as well. The rest of the pack cares for them, yes; but Wind considers them all his," he explained, hoping that she wouldn't think less of the pack for the way they'd become structured.

So many other packs had cast out those that preferred their own gender for lovers, in some cases they'd either beaten them badly or outright killed them. For Egan to take Wind as his mate and even give him the Mating Mark that bound them together permanently, it was a mark of how much they loved each other and how strong Egan was as a male of worth.

They were almost there and Griz paused before leading her down one of the better-cared-for streets, "The pack house is no longer hidden, though some of the old spell remains. You may or may not sense it when we pass through the wards that still protect the house. They keep anyone from detecting the specific building and protect everyone inside. A friend of the pack put the wards up for us to protect the building and protect those inside of it. Now we no longer fear being hunted," he explained to her, then led the way right to the door.

As time went Titus grew restless, he glanced over at Felix and noticed he was sound asleep “I see you haven’t changed any” he whispered to himself as he got up and left the backroom, he’d already taken most of his gear off he’d only his normal uniform the beret that he wore everywhere, a leg holster with his pistol in it. He paused briefly to tell the guy behind the counter he was stepping out and would be back later, and simply left it at that. Once he left the shop he just casually walked through the market, his mind uncertain on what he wanted to do, there were a few places he could go to get a good drink but well it seemed like he needed some feminine company, to which he was quickly going to get as a lady caught up to him and spoke up “Hey Titus, just get back?” Titus looked at the woman and smiled slightly and replied: “hello Silvia yeah just got back a couple of hours ago, how are things?” Silvia smiled warmly and replied “everything is well, I’m off work later if you want some company later on” Titus nodded “thanks for the heads up I may come by your place later to visit” she held her smile as they walked down the main road through the market and replied “sounds good talk to you later” at that she took off leaving Titus alone once again. Sighing he still needed a distraction now and since Silvia was occupied until later he had to find something to do until then.

I will post a small exit one here, then go post in the pack house forum.

Saoirse's hand was still holding Cass' as she followed the male towards, what she assumed was their pack house. She briefly tightened her hold on Cass, bringing him closer to her side, as she listened to how this unusual packed worked.

'Two bonded males as mates? That's a first..but better two bonded males, then brother and sister.' she thought to herself with a shiver. The thought of what her brother wanted from her always made Saoirse pale and shudder in revulsion.

The thought of her brother quickly made the rest of her anger disappear. She knew it was only a matter of time before he found her, and the longer she stayed here the more dangerous it became. And these people apparently had already been through enough if what the mountain man said is true. She didn't want to bring anymore trouble to their door step, but the thought of leaving Cass before the reptile shifter was dealt with didn't sit well with her.

It also didn't help that her lioness was starting to become attached to the small cub. It hadn't been more than a few hours but already Saoirse could feel the strings of attachment start forming. It was probably because she saw something of herself at that age in young Cass, and it resounded inside her. She knew what it was like to be orphaned. To grow up without a mother. Even if this Wind male was taking care of the cubs as best as he could, it still didn't replace the place where a mother's love should be.

Saoirse was brought out of her thoughts when she suddenly smelled very strong magic. Looking upwards she saw a shimmer in the air right before she felt herself pass a barrier of some sort. Before she could freak out over though, her mountain man of a companion explained about the protection spell that sat surrounding the house. The hair on her arms were still standing up, but she felt a little bit better knowing that it was just to protection spell, not a keeper one.

When they finally came to a stop, she instinctively pulled Cass slightly behind her as she looked at her large companion, waiting for him to lead the way into this new place.

Sorry for the long wait. I got tired of waiting...

Griz walked confidently through the still-bustling marketplace with his long leather coat flaring around him slightly and one member of the wolfpack following him. In truth, the wolf with him was just to help with the cleanup. The bear was going to take care of the python personally.

He didn't bother to knock at the shop door. He simply opened it, went inside, closed and locked the door with the wolf on the outside.

What followed sounded like a very drawn out massacre. There were things breaking, bodies being tossed, sounds of pain, growls, hisses, and even the building shook a few times. It was very obviously being drawn out for as much pain as possible until silence finally reigned.

Outside, the wolf had been keeping people from interfering and moving along. Now that silence reigned, he turned his head towards the door but waited for the door to unlock. As he'd expected, it still took a while for the door to open and then it simply unlocked and opened from inside.

Inside, Griz was kneeling over the body of a very large snake., "He'll stay in animal form. I want it done and brought back to the house," he said simply as he got to his feet and accepted the pack from the wolf who simply nodded to him, "And the shop?" he asked the larger male and averted his eyes as he got dressed.

Griz was going to be as ruthless as he was practical. He got his pants and boots on then grinned as he puled his shirt over his head, "Clean it out then demolish it and put up a 'closed' sign," he said simply, knowing that the pack would appreciate the humor.

He was right, the male laughed as he handed Griz his coat, "Done. See you back at the house with your present," he stated as he moved over to the body and Griz left him to it.

The bear pulled the door closed behind him and moved on back to the pack house. He was going to need a shower...

Seth looked around at the offerings as he walked by them slowly, at a leisured pace. He had begone to feel like home here in the Sandman Base since the friend of his father brought him here on that faithful day. It had been several years ago by now and the young man knew almost exactly where everything was, having spent the majority of his life here. Ever since then he had been practicing with the man to take over their trade. though Seth had learned a lot about skulking around, he still wasn't at his adoptive father's level and that bothered him. But he was alright for small scouting missions he thought. That was why he would offer his services to the army. At least once he knew how. Ah well, for now it is more important that I get my necessities. he thought to himself and focused back on the marketplace.

Seth wandered straight to one of the shops that sold food and walked inside to look around what they had. It had been a few years now that he had been forced to look after himself as he had been capable. And to his opinion, he hadn't done badly for himself at all. Getting by with doing odd jobs for the now until he could join a scouting force for the alliance, he had been able to live a good and healthy life so far. Seth walked to the vegetables and took his time looking at the different types before he would make a decision which to buy for his dinner later today. After a little lingering he finally chose for some cabbage and some more ingredients for a good meal before he went to the registry to pay for them and wandered back out to go to the next shop.

He also needed to look for some fruit. It had been a while since he ate that and he missed it. Seth walked with confident strides towards the area where he knew the shop sold fruit while he looked around at some of the people gathered in the marketplace. He knew that not everyone could be trusted, as much as you liked to in an alliance, especially being a human it seemed. It made that he quite instinctively walked aside a bit when he was about to pass a hooded person. Who knew what they were carrying or planning? Once he passed them safely though, the young man allowed himself to ease up a bit again and instead allowed his gaze to look at some stands that were set up outside. He didn't stop at them though. His gaze might show that he perhaps would want to with some but still decided against it.

Griz walked confidently through the still-bustling marketplace with his long leather coat flaring around him slightly, only this time he was moving like a force of nature that was barely contained. He was easily able to trace Saoirse's recent scent but paused partway through the center of the market as two more scents crossed hers. One, he knew as well as hers. The other, he intended to collect a pelt from...

He gave a deep growl and moved on through the market, following the heavy scent of the male. People scrambled out of his way as he moved, instinctively avoiding the royally pissed off male.

In truth, Griz wasn't sure what exactly pissed him off the most. The male that Saoirse feared had come into his pack's territory and took one of their cubs. Then he took Saoirse...

The male was going to bleed....

(Sorry for leaving you hanging for a bit. It doesn't look like anyone really has anything to do in the Marketplace right now, so I decided to bring back an old character who never got much use to give you someone to interact with. For context, he has a power that makes him unnoticeable to most people, but player characters aren't affected the same way.)

Will
| Where: Sandman Marketplace | Who's Nearby: So many strangers |
Feeling: Heartbroken | Wearing: A white button-up shirt and loose black jeans |

Will woke up to a loud knocking on the door of the dark room he had been sleeping in. He blinked in confusion and looked around as he tried to figure out where he was. The last thing that he remembered was traveling with his Master Zephyr and stopping in an inn to rest and have fun for the night. He remembered that his Master had decided to pay the cost to stay at the inn for a few months so that Will would have a safe place to stay when Zephyr took on more dangerous mercenary work, since Will was completely useless in a fight. It had left the young slave terrified that he would be abandoned.

He got out of the bed and stumbled into the attached bathroom. He was still trying to figure out what was happening as he splashed some water on his face. He blinked several times as he looked around and let out a soft gasp when he saw his reflection and realized that his slave collar was gone. He moved his hands up to his neck to confirm and then rushed back into the bedroom. There was quite a bit of dust on all of the furniture, and his Master was nowhere to be seen. "How long was I asleep?" he asked himself, trying to piece together anything he could about the situation.

He looked through the room and noticed a set of clothes on the bed that had clearly been there since right after he had gone to sleep, whenever that had been. Tears started to fall as he realized that his Master was gone and didn't seem to be coming back. He didn't know what had happened to Zephyr, but his immediate conclusion was that he had simply been abandoned. Zephyr had always seemed like the type who may grow bored of him and leave him eventually, so that seemed like the most likely scenario. But that didn't answer his questions about what had happened.

Deciding that he couldn't stay here any longer, Will took the clothes on the bed and got dressed. He slipped out of the room as the owner of the inn forced his way into the room, completely unaware of the fact that anyone had been there. He made his way outside and squinted at the bright sunlight. He managed to collect himself and looked around to try and figure out where he was. He was obviously in some sort of marketplace, but he couldn't remember where. He had been so focused on attending to Zephyr that he had never really paid any attention to where they went. He had been so happy to have someone finally notice him and show him affection that he had poured his heart into serving him without any regard to his own situation. But now that Zephyr was gone, Will was realizing just how bad things were for him. He was alone in an unknown place without anything he could use to buy information or even food and water. He literally only had the clothes on his back, but even they technically belonged to someone else.

Will tried to get the attention of several people passing by, but all of them seemed to be unaware that he was there at all. He started to panic as he stumbled out into a crowd that was unaware of him, unable to get anyone to even look at him. He could feel rocks cutting into his bare feet, but he managed to keep going without acknowledging the pain until he finally collapsed in front of a few stands selling various goods. No one stopped to see if he was okay. In fact, several of the people even walked over him without ever realizing it. He didn't notice the pain or damage they were causing as he tried to pull himself together. It felt like he was drowning in the despair of losing the one person who seemed to be able to really notice him.
