2-3. Halfway through! At least, you think you're about halfway through. You're really getting winded now, and it is very tempting to slow down or stop. Still, you push on. You're getting close to the feeding pens--and need to encourage your dragon to keep running so they don't stop and scare the herdbeasts. If you feel a little hungry, and the herdbeasts look a little tasty, you know fully that's just your dragon's doing! [+1 point]

I'm going to eat one of those herdbeasts after this race. The entire thing, maybe.

'That's all well and good, but at this rate I'm going to never eat meat again.'

Fit / In Great Shape
Middle leg:
1. +1
2. Ouch
3. +1
Sauzath: -2
Points: 5

Quote:
8-9. Your dragon is too distracted by puddles to want to race. Quote the weyrling above you, and start splashing them with mud and water. This does wind up affecting both your own rider and the fellow weyrling. Your rider might be upset (or distracted) and the weyrling you just splashed might be feeling irate, or some other emotion. You're all even more soaked. Boo. [You both lose -2 points]

Guilt heavy on her hearts over the collision with Ilaorunth's, Sauzath slowed down from her decent pace. Determination to find some kind of fun in all this misery of this race, she stomped in a puddle as Chinanazith and his raced by, spraying mud and water everywhere once more.

Karma has a funny way of getting back to her, as she never quite saw Riojath coming for her. She barked and snarled as the green ran her down, crumpling to the ground.

"Sauzath!" Niviora was at her dragon's side quickly, looking for injury -- but Sauzath was getting back up to her paws rather quickly. A determination set alight in her eyes.

Only sore, I'm fine. Maybe some bruises. Ow. Oh she had some choice words, but those weren't for now. She wanted to be done.

R'xa and Blue Isteth

Feeling terribly smug that his hard work was being noticed by his brother, Isteth sent a mental boop to Demodeth. Yeah! That's right. He was awesome. Thanks for noticing, he said, with an illusory grin, maw gaped wide. You know what, come to think of it, this was a good time for his R'xa to take a break, so Isteth nudged his rider... who stood panting and trying to recover from the run.

[Rolling!

First Leg:
1. 8-9. You're just running. It's wet, and you're cold, and neither pleased nor displeased by all of this. At least the Weyr Lake is pretty in the rain. [+1 point]
2. 10. Ouch! One of the weyrlings, in their excitement, winds up flapping their wings and causing you to trip! The young dragon doesn't seem to realize what happened, and keeps running--but your own dragon might have something to say about it! :V
Randomize an active Weyrling to see which Weyrling it was! (Only choose those that are participating in the game!) In the meantime, roll a D4 to see what happens.
[It's Tianxiath]
4. You actually fall, and in your attempt to catch yourself, hit the ground hard. Picking yourself back up, your wrist is sore--better watch it to see if it gets better or worse. Ouch.
3. 4-5. You're not fooled by the size of the Weyr Lake. You know it's deceptively large, and is a lot wider than it seems. You pace yourself, knowing full well this is going to be all about stamina and the long haul. [+2 Point] If you're in Average Shape, go ahead and add one more point, because you're definitely on the right train of thought! [+1 Point]

1. 1. Your dragon does not want to do this. Nope. Perhaps they're just distracted, perhaps they're feeling lazy, they actually sit down and start to curl up. Unfortunately, your rider has to try to urge them to go--which means they have to pause in their own jog to get their dragonet going. [-5 points]

Middle Leg
1. 4-5. You're struggling. The Weyr Lake seems never ending. Slow and steady wins the race, and while you might slow down your speed--or slip into a bit of a walk--you know this is best. Nothing wrong with taking a little breather. [+2 point] If you're athletic ability is poor, gain an extra two points for listening to the needs of your body. [+1 point]

R'xa and Blue Isteth

When R'xa began to run again, she'd managed to get her breathing (mostly) under control. It didn't seem quite so bad now that they'd been running for a time, especially with Isteth's encouragement. But shards if this wasn't difficult.

First Leg
1. 10 - Demodeth winglfap failure - Fall - Sore Right Wrist (ruh-roh) 0 points
2. 2 - +4 points - Feeling good.
3. 6 - +1 point - Sucks

Total: +3

Second Leg:
1. +3 points
2. Trampled by Chinanazith - Black & Blue ow
3.
4.

R'thell had begun his run once more, with Triesteth carefully trotting a bit behind. The green still felt terrible for her earlier mishaps, and R'thell was so intent on soothing her as he ran that he didn't have time to notice Chinanazith. A flash of blue, and suddenly R'thell lost his balance yet again.

There was a flash of hot pain--both from his back and his wrist. Though he was able to pick himself up from his second fall, his wrist continued to object. His back, now, was also smarting...

Chinanazith! She gave a small, dismayed creel before turning back to nose and nuzzle Hers. Perhaps it was karma from having been so careless with Tianxiath's.

R'thell gave a small groan, but once again, pushed himself back up. The sooner this run was over, the better... though packing sand covered in mud and well bruised didn't sound very pleasant, either.

Roll Green Riojath
First Leg

She was much more energetic than her rider. Riojath bounced eagerly ahead. The rain and the puddles didn't bother her. There were several spots where she did stop and look back in concern about her rider. You can do it Mine! Keep it up!

Chinanazith! Where are you? Oh you're behind me! It is positively a delightful day! My rider doesn't think so though. She's fallen into a puddle AND the lake itself too. At least she doesn't need to worry about the rain anymore. The green giggled. Then she felt water splashed on her from behind. The blue had found a nice big puddle. He did look so handsome playing in the water didn't he?

Her rider wouldn't mind if she took a break to play with Chinanazith. It would give Hers a chance to catch up! Yes yes that was good. The green romped back to splash the blue back.

Nashwa and Gold Ilaorunth
Fit / In Great Shape
Middle Leg 1/3
Points: 4

Ilaorunth had been so concerned about avoiding the unavoidable that she didn't notice right away that in her hurry to get safely clear of Alenciath's she had managed to knock in Riojath's. It was only when the young woman apologized that she realized what must have happened. Why was everyone right here underfoot? Irritation mixed with guilt, and she shifted uncomfortably as she looked down at B'den. I am fine. I am...sorry you're wet.

Hers, at least, had missed the episode entirely, being so preoccuppied with Fahn, but once the greenrider had been taken away, Nashwa felt terribly conflicted about continuing the race. Oh, she knew it wasn't a choice, that there was nothing she could do for her fellow Weyrling and that she and Ilaorunth wouod be expected to finish.

Come on, Ilaorunth. Time to go. They'd be having a talk later, but for now, they had a run to finish.

B’den and Green Riojath
Poor / What's Exercise?
2/3 Second Leg

After making sure the baby gold was ok, B'den resumed her slow jog. She was going so carefully that she might as well be walking instead of jogging, but still was trying to keep up the appearance of effort to run. Her shoe slipped on something slippery, probably washed up by the rains. Down she went again. This time into a puddle where all the mud had been stirred up in it; possibly by people or dragons running through it, but B'den suspected dragons playing in it was the real culprit. As it was she found mud going into places Where It Should Not. Ugh!

Total: +3
First Leg
8-9. You're just running. It's wet, and you're cold, and neither pleased nor displeased by all of this. At least the Weyr Lake is pretty in the rain. [+1 point]

1. You fall right into a puddle. You're not even sure what caused you to slip, but you are wet and muddy now. Gross! [-1 Point] (If you roll this a second time in any of the prompts, you find mud going into cracks you weren't even aware you had Eww!. [-1 Point] If you roll this a third time, you're going to catch a cold come the next morning! [-1 Point]

6-7. This. Sucks. Not only are you wet and cold but running? Really? You've only just begun and already you're panting for breath. You can tell this is going to be a very long run--and even if you're known to be a runner, for some reason, you're just not felling it. [+1 Point] If you're in Poor Shape, add another point, because you know when to listen to your body, and not push it. And right now, it does not want to be pushed. [+1 Point]
Total: +1 -1 +1 +1= +2 (+1 from Riojath) = +3

Second Leg
1. You thought you were doing well, but an errant weyrling winds up running right into you! While you're certainly not trampled, both rider and dragonet wind up tangled and muddy! Randomize Publicy an Active Weyrling to see which Weyrling was the offender and quote them so they know!! (Only choose those that are participating in the game!) Then roll a D-4 and see what happens!
- 3. You wind up getting pushed to one side and right into the actual weyrlake! Water is now soaking right into your clothes and you feel quite uncomfortable and cold. Ugh. Your temper is also gone and you have no more spoons--you'll be irritable the rest of the afternoon.

10. You fall right into a puddle. You're not even sure what caused you to slip, but you are wet and muddy now. Gross! (If you roll this a second time in any of the prompts, you find mud going into cracks you weren't even aware you had Eww!. Nashwa and Gold Ilaorunth
Fit / In Great Shape
Middle Leg 2/3
Points: 4

As she ran on, Nashwa brooded, turning over what had happened and how - if at all - she could have prevented it. Was it her fault for pushing Ilaorunth to run when she hadn't wanted to? Maybe if the gold hadn't been in such a sulk, she would have been paying more attention. It was the sort of thing Nashwa had been trying to hammer in from day one: pay attention, be careful, take responsibility. She'd thought she was learning, but maybe she was wrong. Or maybe she'd been too concerned with getting her bonded to run when she should have been keeping a better eye on where exactly Ilaorunth was running. Or maybe it was the conditions, or maybe it was some combination of all of the above.

Regardless, it wasn't acceptable, and they would have to do better. So she kept an even sharper eye than usual on Ilaorunth as they continued...perhaps too sharp. By the time she caught a flash of bright green in her peripheral vision, it was too late - down she went under dragon feet. Tumbled, rolled, and stepped on, it was over practically before she could fully grasp what was happening. And once it was over, she lay sore and breathless in the mud for several long moments, breath heaving, before she tried to move. Slowly, now, slowly...nothing felt broken, but ohh, her head! Even sitting up slowly caused it to spin, and the rest of her had some complaints about the movement as well.

Ilaorunth, the moment she felt something amiss, turned to dash back towards her rider. Mine! Mine, are you alright? Carefully, Ilaorunth curled herself around Hers so as to block any others who might potentially not see her rider and run over her all over again. With the concern was also great offense, because how dare someone do such a thing to Hers?

Don't you even start, Nashwa warned, cutting off any of her dragon's angry thoughts. Woozy and disoriented though she was, she had a responsibility to cobtrol her dragon. You did the same thing to Fahn. You don't get to be mad that anyone else made the same mistake you did.

But-

No buts. Leave it alone. Since standing up just now seemed like a poor idea, Nashwa opted to wait for assistance to arrive. She trusted her legs, but not her dizzy head.
