Jack chuckled a bit and nodded. "Sure you can, Sara. Let me just open your door ok? Safety first," he said and got out of the car. He opened the back door and looked to Lucy. "You'll be fine waiting in the car?" he asked Lucy.

Sara smiled and took off her seat belt.When Jack opened the door she Jumped out and took his hand.Lucy nodded"Just bring me a chocolate ice cream with sprinkles."

Jack took Sara's hand and nodded to Lucy. "Ok then. Don't forget to lock the doors," he told her and closed the door. He walked inside the ice cream shop and ordered a chocolate ice cream with sprinkles and a vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup on it for him. He waited for Sara to order her ice cream.

Lucy nodded and locked the doors.Sara followed joe and watched him order his and Lucy;s ice cream"Strawberry Ice cream please."

Jack smiled down to Sara and waited for their ice cream to be served. He felt like she was his daughter and they were a normal family.

Sara smiled and held onto Jack's hand.She looked at him"Joe how did you and Lu fall in lve?"She asked

Jack bit his lower lip when she asked him that. He didn't want the innocent little girl to know what really happened or what his job was, so he made up a quick lie. "Well, it was raining and I accidentally bumped into her while she was crying. I tried to help her and took her to get something warm to drink since she didn't have an umbrella. And... that's how everything unfolded," he said, leaving out any other parts that might seem suspicious.

Sara listened to him and nodded softly"Did she get sick and thats why she didn't come home for a long time?"She asked him as she played with his fingers.She was such a naive little girl,he could tell her anything and she'd believe it.

Jack smiled to her softly. "Yeah. She got pretty sick that she couldn't even get out of bed," he said to her.

Jack nodded. "Yup. Lots of soup and sleep," he told her, their ice creams served. He handed the strawberry ice cream to her and grabbed the other two with both hands.

Sara smiled and took her ice cream.She held his hand and licked her ice cream"If I get sick will you give me lots of soup?"She asked him

Jack grinned happily to her. "Of course. I'll make you eat so much until you can get better and we can get ice cream again," he said.

Sara smiled at him and giggled to his response.'You know you sure will be a great daddy,cause I know,my dad never took me out for ice cream or took me to the park.'She said and smiled"but you are better than him and you're my brother now."

Jack listened to her and nodded. "I guess it was the same for me. My daddy never took me anywhere at all. But if you weren't Lucy's sister, I swear you would be like a daughter to me," he said. He took her to the car and tapped Lucy's window lightly to tell her to unlock the doors.
