Clorogne gave the vender his shillings, and wrapped an arm around Aleera's waist, "Anything catch your eye?"

 The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Aleera leaned against his side, looking up at him. "I've gotten my one thing." She told him with a smile, fingering the beads that rested on her head. "And that's enough for me. They're beautiful."  The tiger that should be....isn't....

"I'm glad you agree. They make your eyes shine." He kissed her cheek, just as someone touched his arm, and he looked around, "Yes?"
"Is it true you are...who they say you are?"
"Who do they say i am?"
"The king's brother come to take the throne."
"Yes."
The crowd moved anxiously, why haven't you..."
"Permission, my friend."
The crowd was beginning to roar, and it was getting hard to hear.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Aleera moved out of his hold, realizing it would be a bad spot to be. She moved in front of Clorogne, trying to get the crowd's attention. "People! Listen to me!" She yelled, trying to get them to focus on her. She scrambled to think of something to say when it came to her. "Listen! You all know me! I can tell you why he hasn't taken the throne yet!" The tiger that should be....isn't....

Clorogne watched Aleera in surprise. Could she know? Impossible! Then...what was she going to tell the crowd?

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... In front of Clorogne, she didn't see his surprise. Instead, she focused on the crowd. "He is mourning the loss of his brother! Though they spoke little, they were family and this has been a harsh blow to him, to lose his kin. He is preparing to take the throne, but it is hard to lose a family member and he must deal with that grief." She was completely making it up as she went, but it was a perfectly believable story. The tiger that should be....isn't....

He breathed out a sigh. Oh good. She DIDN'T know. He lifted his hand to hold hers, but didn't say a word, just pulled on a mournful face.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Aleera glanced back at him and was glad to see he was playing along. She looked back to the crowd, judging their mood. "Clorogne will take the throne. Have no fear. I have Seen it, and know it to be the truth!" She proclaimed to the crowd. The tiger that should be....isn't....

The crowd clapped and shouted and Clorogne nodded his head, "Time is needed." He backed off, "Perhaps, my dear, It's best we go back to the Inn now?"

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Aleera nodded regally to the crowd, then turned and headed back to the Inn. It wasn't until they were inside again that she relaxed. "That was close....." She murmured softly. The tiger that should be....isn't....

She told him reassuringly. "I just don't know when. But I would hurry up. The people are getting restless, as we saw today." The tiger that should be....isn't....

Clorogne stopped her and took her hand in both of his, "I was hoping..." he kissed her hand, "That I would have the help of a queen." he looked her in the eye, hoping she knew what he meant. It was hard to tell he was the bad guy when he acted so completely sincere.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Aleera's eyes widened and a blush spread across her cheek. It was clear what she thought - what she hoped he was asking. Just as quickly, she looked away. "W-Well, I'm s-sure there's some lovely princesses in the neighboring kingdoms." She said, stumbling over her words, a touch of disappointment in them. She acted like she considered herself unworthy for the position. The tiger that should be....isn't....
