Bandages. It was a shame really, how they never seemed to stay sturdy. But with the mangy cats all gone and his arms all patched and properly disinfected, he carried a basket full of tangerines. It would be odd, he supposed. To swoop in for a visit to another male, hand touched with fruit. He thought about it, briefly before knocking on the door. The same three times as it ever was for his pattern. It's been a while since they've spoken and their last hadn't been that perky. He figured that the lost time could be made up for it now. The basket of fruit acting as a buffer for peace and possible; no hard feelings sort of thing. Then again, knowing their yukikage with what little he's revealed himself to be, the man would forgive. Or so the young cocky shinobi had assumed. "It's Tochiga, sir."

He thought about his last given advice. In ways it helped him and in other ways it didn't. But in the end he understood the message. Wallow up and die or actually get over it. His expression though, however discerningly mechanical found actual delight in that picture. That face of slightly screwed control and with a light gearing with the way he adjusted his tone for that one occassion. It was strange. Why he almost always seemed to be tugged and guided so easily. Yet wave out so far after each interaction. Perhaps some small talk would confirm his core belief.

It had been some time since the attack, since his attempted assassination. Keiji's wounds had healed and his energy had returned to him. Unfortunately, it seemed as if the village was in dire straits. Shinobi activity was low, quite low, and the civilians were becoming dis-satisfied with the way things were. Keiji was busy, trying to smooth things over and find ways to get his shinobi back in shape.

Right now Keiji was busy pouring over papers, trying to wrack his brain for ideas. He loved Yuki, it was a village he wished he could preserve, but if it was so out of his control... he got angry just at the thought. He already felt Hanzo approaching before the male actually knocked "Come in, Hanzo." he called, setting the papers down for now, leaning back and rubbing his eyes with both hands.

Without really saying much the younger male had posthumously lent in an assumption that the other male was likely not in the mood for people. His citrus disks shifted to his desk where an array of several important looking papers were splayed about. His frustration was evident in his tired gestures. "You look as though you need the extra vitamin C." He quipped with a light tone in laughter, already settling into a chair adjacent to his front desk after setting the fruits basket over his lap. A hand was already working on peeling one tangerine.

"Busy." He mentioned, slightly quietening his tone at the implication of knowing something was up. He glanced up at him. The scarred flesh of his skin stretching yet so amicably beneath his low strung braids while the rest bared it's harshness just along the side of his face. At the moment, he seemed to have given up on the ulterior of aesthetics. His lazy lidded eyes ever the same, gazed over to Kenji. A slight wave of concern for the other male. "I take it the work has piled up. Not the best hiatus, I'd imagine." He shrugged, already splitting the tangerines apart and offering him the half piece.

Pulling his hands away from his face, Keiji looked to Hanzo and smiled softly. "I suppose." he replied, glad that the other seemed happier than he had been. The death of a teammate was never easy but some how the other had managed to get over his initial sorrow. It was then that he noticed the other did not have bandages covering his face. He'd never really seen the other without bandages before, at least to his knowledge right now. The other did not look bad to him.

"Yes. There discontent amongst the villagers, there shinobi seem to be inactive, and on top of that, from the information gathered from your last mission from the captive and the papers... things don't look good. I don't know what exactly, but Kyoji is planning something big." Taking the offered tangerine, Keiji bit into it and chewed with a thoughtful look on his face. "You're really the only one who's reported in after so long."

He sighed. Starting to see where the effect of said cause would lead to. Turmoil, insecurity, subtraction in reserves. Oh boy.. He instead offered an apologetic nod from the news. Granted, since he was apart of it. Still, relatively pleased by the fact that he was indulging himself in the fruit, Hanzo went on to answering his statement. Supposing he was the only one to have reported. It seemed as though the other shinobi were not in line in the time they needed them. Sympathy migrains maybe.

He noticed. Nothing was particularly different. No change or indication, or perhaps it was just that accepting vibe he had hoped for. He closed his eyes, thinking about it. "That bad.." He mumbled a bit after nibbling on his piece. "What CAN be done?" Hanzo asked, his question rounded carefully. His temples frowned. Starting to feel a bit...afraid with the subtleties hinting at the next possible devastation. Or was it? He just could not shake off the vibe.

There was nothing wrong with the way Hanzo looked. There were those who came back from battle in much worse shape after all. To Keiji, Hanzo still looked good. When asked what could be done, the man was silent for what seemed like a long time. "... I honestly don't know." he said, ending with a sigh as he continued to eat his half of the tangerine. "That last Yukikage had already left this place a mess, enough so that Yuki has never really recovered. And now with all of this going on... I think Yukigakure may be on it's last leg Hanzo, and it feels like there's nothing I can do about it."

Leaning back in his seat, his free hand rubbed his forehead before he continued "I don't know what will be in store for Yukigakure. But it's shinobi may not have any place here anymore... I may no longer have a use. My only option would be to return to wandering while you and few others try to relocate to other villages."

Akatsuki appeared in the room on one knee, the Yukikage had been expecting him. After the mission a while back which claimed the life of two of his teammates. Akatsuki took a bit of time to get back into motion. After it he made himself better and stronger so that wouldn't happen. He was promoted to Anbu as well soon after. He stood and bowed the the Yukikage holding the village report he had asked him for. He handed it to him and then stepped back, the village had been not doing so well since then. Maybe thats why he wanted the reports to actually see for himself the information and make a plan for it. He wondered what would happened to their Yukigakure.

Honestly, right now nothing bugged him more than people not knocking. Of course he knew Akatsuki was on the way, he could sense the other coming after all. Scowling softly, he looked over to the leader of the basically non-existent Anbu team and said "Thank you, Akatsuki. Now please leave. You're basically all we seem to have left at this point, it's up to you to help keep peace in the village."

Waiting until the other left, Keiji sighed and leaned back in his seat. He rubbed his eyes once more before looking to Hanzo "You've always been loyal and you're still one of the few here... and since I like you, how would you like a promotion?"

He looked so tired of walking through this fire that posed the problem. Seriously. A twitch occurred in his lower lip as his head dipped down. A quirk that was unlikely of Hanzo to surface. Too deep in thought to really notice Akatsuki come in for a report that had been done ages ago. Then he rose his head up when Keiji redirected back to him. As much as he would have been honored to, he really couldn't get in the mood. And Hanzo himself couldn't see much of the point in an empty promotion. But Keiji wasn't a dullard. For that reason he trusted him and stood up, faced him with an erect form and bowed respectfully. "I would be honored." He supposed it was that much more meaningful if Keiji could still promote him in the crisis they faced.

Though at least he could feel like he could face another challenge after hearing him say the string of words. Slight warmth surged through his body that gave him content emotions of knowing he was liked by Keiji. I'm glad.

Watching and waiting for the other's reply, Keiji was pleased that the other would accept it. Perhaps it was too little, too late, but while Yuki still stood, he would still reward those who were still loyal and around him. "Good. In that case, I now promote you to jounin and you shall be one from this day forward." said Keiji, reaching into his desk for Hanzo's file and changing the male's status. "All things considered, you more than deserve it Hanzo."

With the agreement, he left a little after Keiji. The same fox-like expression riddling his face. Delight in his actions as he calmly closed the door after him. Assuming Akatsuki had already left.

With nothing else to really say, Keiji finished the other's promotion and put Hanzo's file away. Although what the other said next was surprising. The brunette looked back up to Hanzo, trying to see if the other was really serious about what he thought the other was suggesting. Seeing that the other appeared quite sincere in the subtle offer, the Yukikage mulled it over for a moment before nodding his head "I suppose." Standing up, he made the necessary hand seals before summoning a water clone, which promptly took a seat at his desk as the real Keiji walked around his desk to stand beside Hanzo. "Let's go."

Returning to his office, possibly with Hanzo in tow or at least trailing behind, Keiji spotted the shinobi he sensed at his office. Eying the male before spotting the sign of a Konohagakure headband, he said "And what can I do for you?" asked Keiji, walking past the male and opening the door to his office. His water clone was already gone so that left the office open for them.
