He had to relieve himself of the sudden stress and overwhelming depression that had been dropped upon him like a ton of bricks. Masaru entered the academy he had already spent a good portion of his life in, learning, training and growing. One of the main reasons he had to advance out of the academy was the fact that he had studied most all their books. You see secretly, Masaru was kind of a nerd. Only a few of his friends knew this, but he actually seemed to enjoy peering into books and late-night reading during his spare time. Why though, did he read so much? That would remain a secret even to his friends. All they knew was that their friend was one of the most dedicated shinobi they ever came across. But dedication and confidence weren't solely his qualities. They were also qualities his few friends possessed, each with one with their unique personalities. Masaru thought about them regularly, about his friends, and about his family too. He finally took out the headband and wrapped it tight around his head. It was time to train:

Masaru found an open, quiet area to train in. He emptied his mind and only allowed it to process his training methods for the moment. Hand signs were first on his list for today. Placing his hands together he started off slow, switching in a pattern: bird, boar, dog, dragon, ox, tiger, serpent, rat, horse, monkey, hare and ram. He continued that pattern at a slow pace and got faster and faster every time he completed a set. With each set completed, he could faintly feel his chakra, moving throughout his body. [1]

After he could speedily perform said pattern, Masaru started all over. He did the same pattern once more, but backwards. Starting off slowly as before, the new pattern looked something like this: ram, hare, monkey, horse, rat, serpent, tiger, ox, dragon, dog, boar and bird. He continued to practice that until he could perform the full pattern in very few seconds. He began to concentrate his chakra to his core, his abdominal to be more precise. [2]

It was all pretty easy so far, almost too easy. Masaru felt he had to step it up a bit, maybe by mixing the hand signs and repeating some. Luckily, the academy had plenty of scrolls with info on elemental techniques and the necessary hand signs in accordance with said technique. Masaru grabbed one of these, a scroll on earth jutsu, and proceeded to place it on the table. 3… 2… 1… SWISH! He opened the scroll and spotted a random technique. His hands quickly snapped together as he started to perform the specific jutsu’s needed hand signs. This time, it was a little rougher than previous training, but he would continue practicing. Masaru shut his eyes and started to focus his chakra towards the extremities of his body: his hands and his feet. [3]

After a few more jutsu’s hand signs he really started to get the hang of it. Masaru returned the earth tech scroll back to its rightful spot and grabbed another elemental scroll, lightning. He followed through with the same process as before, but this time, he didn’t stop once he came to the end of a jutsu’s set of hand signs. No, he continued onwards to the next jutsu and then the next and so on and so forth. He did this until he could efficiently perform most all the hand signs in the lightning scroll, from D to B rank. He could now feel a certain flow of chakra and control it for the most part, as he did more hand signs while he paced about the room for a bit; he continued to shift chakra from his core and to his extremities, even to his fingertips and toes, then back to his core. [4]

It was time to complete his two-handed sign training. Masaru pulled out the remaining scrolls he had not yet tried signing for: water, wind and fire. He shut his eyes as he opened these and laid them out across a row of long tables. Soon as he opened his eyes, Masaru drew in a calm, deep breath, started off with the first scroll and began performing the listed signs. He made his way from water, to wind, to fire and performed all the necessary hand signs for all the D to A rank techniques. Afterwards, he did it again… and again… and again. And guess what? Yet again. He continued to do this, even in different orders, until his hands began to shake from all the quick movements and strenuous training they were being put through. Eventually, his hands needed a break. By now not only did Masaru further improve his knowledge on a variety of elemental techniques, he also fortified his memory on the specific hand signs that were necessary for each individual technique. Furthermore, he could feel his chakra quite clearly now, controlling it with a more delicate grasp as it shifted throughout his entire being and settled in various regions of his body. He rolled up the ninjutsu scrolls and left them at his side as he laid across the empty table, taking a break. [5]

After a few minutes of rest, his stubbornness started to show. Masaru hopped off the table and shook off the pain in his trembling hands, clenching them a few times as if was playing with a stress ball. Afterwards, he shut his eyes and began to recall a few essential techniques he planned to remember before, but IT kept getting his mind, digging it's way in there, burying deep within. He couldn't forget the telegram he had been given. Was his mom... going to be alright? Worried and ever so slightly fatigued, he sat back on the table and shut his eyes, doubling over. His feet dangled hopelessly over the table side and his eyes remained calmly shut. Unfortunately, Masaru was never the crying type. He could only sit there and ponder his problems, whatever they may be. That or train until he bled his worries right out of his heart.

Kenta listened and watched as Aylin asked him if Masaru was going to be alright. Kenta really just gave a small shrug. "Well I don't really know what is wrong with him so I guess it's hard to say. However, sometimes it's best just to leave him alone." Kenta couldn't help but give off a small laugh thinking back to the few times where the two got into fights over how Masaru was feeling. Of course it didn't help that most of those times, Kenta ended up being shitfaced drunk, but there were a few others where he wasn't. "I'm sure in the end he will be fine."

Looking back at her, he noticed her pulling out some food and offering him some to eat. Granted while he wasn't starving, a snack could do a long way. Pulling off a few things here and there, he plopped them in his mouth and ate them down with ease. Giving off a smile, he looked at Aylin's direction. "Tastes delicious." He reached down to his belt to pull out a flash of sake but realized he left it at home. That sucks. He though to himself. It would have been nice to have a little something extra. Either way, he still had plenty of alcohol in his system to keep him going. "So are ya excited about being in a squad together? I can't wait to get started on some training...Although I've always heard the academy was always better for ninjutsu training. I don't have tons of interests in learning tons of ninjutsu myself." He gave a slight nod. He figured if their teacher didn't know much about them, he wouldn't know that, but either way, he was stuck here until he was told otherwise.

Uinsean entered the building slowly, motioning for the other two to follow him on his way in, and looked around at the Genin. He watched to see what they were doing for a moment, and tapped his foot on the ground to get the other's attention, the sound echoing throughout the building. "Gather around, and hand me the two scrolls you've chosen for your elements." He spoke loudly enough for all to hear, with his hands out, and looked at them with a straight, emotionless face. "Then we'll begin your training." He addressed them as a group, and awaited their replies wondering what they would've picked.

A little while after he rested, Masaru heard a loud stomp echo throughout the entire building. He wasn't quite sure what it was, but he decided to investigate. So he gathered the scrolls he had just used for hand sign training along with a few extra elemental scrolls and headed down to where he thought he had heard the sound come from. Before he knew it, he stood before his teacher, near the entrance to the academy. Kenta and Aylin were probably already on their way inside.

He noticed that Uinsean held out a hand and wondered if it was for the scrolls he had asked for earlier. Masaru handed out two that seemed rather appealing to himself, lightning and of course, fire, the element his clan was famous for. Meanwhile, he waited for his friends to appear so that he could give them the bag of scrolls he had gathered, from which they could pick out any two of their liking. He would hold it out from them, even as they arrived. However this time, he would not greet them as he usually did. His eyes were still blood red with a single tomoe around each iris. He wondered how his mother was holding up...

Seeing their teacher pass by the two, Kenta wouldn't really wait for the Aylin to replay to him. Instead, he started for the door which their teacher walked in. Before disappearing, he looked back at Aylin and nodded with his head for her to come on. Disappearing into the doorway, Kenta heard what Uinsean asked them to do. Great did this mean that they were going to be training in ninjutsu? Either way, he would do what he was told.

Taking the bag of scrolls from Masaru, he finally noticed that his eyes were different. Is that the sharinga? Masaru was always talking about it so could that really be it? He didn't want to put much though into it yet. Look through the bag of scrolls, he finally picked two. One was an earth scroll and the other was wind. Holding them out to Uinsean, he would hold the bag with his other hand so Aylin could get them next.

×××POST:Aylin smiled slightly as Kenta took some of the food and complimented on her cooking, she was quite happy, "Thanks Kenta." Aylin looked over to Uinean and followed behind Kenta after she of course packed up the obentou. Walking in she grabs two scrolls; Raiton and Katon which was lightning and fire, of course she didn't know that Masaru kun had chosen the same elements as well.

Looking around the space she sighed, running her fingers along the dusty desks as she had a flash back of how happy she was as a student of this academy, but there was nothing to do but go up right? She smiled as she remembered all her friends and all the funny moments they had together, especially throwing her in the lake, that was cold.

Aylin walked towards the stacks of scrolls as she picked out one about Eiseijutsu and opened it up with interest as she leaned on the table, brushing away her crimson hair which had fallen to it's side and tucked it behind her ear as she looked up from the scroll once or twice to look at either Kenta or Masaru to see what they were doing. Aylin was still thinking up her revenge plan; directed at Masaru who decided to tickle her with a green leaf.

Closing the scroll she left it on the table, sneaking behind Masaru; hopefully unnoticed she wrapped her slender arms around his neck with a sweet yet evil smile planted upon her face. "Now..how should I punish you for your prank?" Aylin said as her arms trapped him in her grasps. "Maybe I should throw you in the lake, that sounds terribly fun," Aylin teased as she stood there effortlessly with her arms wrapped around Masaru's neck as she thought of an even more diabolical plan for her ultimate revenge.

Uinsean took Masaru's scrolls, and looked them over. Handing them back shortly after, and then did the same for the other two. He looked like he was thinking as he looked them over. "First task, failed. You were ordered to get ramen, not offered. However, this doesn't matter, I was more concerned on how you would react to strange orders.. From now on, do what I ask, there may have been a reason for you to be there. You may keep that money for latter meals, or something." He spoke calmly to each of them, and then smiled.

"Third task, successful. You don't need those scrolls at the moment, I just needed to learn your elements to properly train you. Now, the second task, which you would've undergone at the ramen shop.." He paused, and looked at them for a moment to make sure they were paying attention. "A test.." He smirked, forming a series of quick handsigns, and three clones stepped forth. Dark green chakra whipping from all their bodies, and the original formed a longer sequence of handsigns. "Begin."

After he handed the bag of ninjutsu scrolls to his friend, his gaze wandered over to his teacher. He wondered what this man had in store for them and wanted to thank him for the small amount of money Uinsean had given each one of them so that the genin could buy some ramen before they started their training. Course, Masaru had not bought anything with his share of the money pouch yet because he had wanted to save it for later. But now, he didn’t feel like eating at all, not even later. Masaru felt helpless. His mother was dying and he couldn’t do a thing about it; he couldn’t even visit her for crying out loud! Thoughts of her dominated his mind and sunk his heart like the titanic. Then when all hope seemed lost, a pair of warm and delicate arms wrapped around his neck and awakened him from his depressing state. He felt a flame of hope flicker in his hear, rekindling the blaze of who he once was. Punishment? Masaru had done nothing wrong. It was she who left herself unguarded; Masaru simply took advantage of that occasion. Masaru turned his head just enough to gaze over his shoulder and into her eyes. Unlike his own, they were filled with spirit and warmth, despite her mischievous expression. His grim look brightened slightly as he continued to peer in her direction. “Do it… I dare you.” he retorted calmly, almost playfully, in a velvet whisper from beneath his masked mouth. He wanted to see her just TRY and throw him into a lake. It wasn’t like he was just gonna stand there if she tried though. Even beneath these thoughts, Masaru wasn’t aware of the bond they had started to form. Not just Aylin and him, but all three of them: Kenta… Aylin… Masaru. This was just the start to their adventure.

By now, Uinsean was talking to them about their third task. Had Masaru missed any of the previous lecture? Nope. He had listened to both his teacher and the girl, though he had honestly given more attention to Aylin this time. A test? Masaru watched as the clones stepped forth and whispered something that would only reach his friend's ears. "Go for the original... okay?" He wasn't sure if she would mind, but Masaru trusted that she knew what he was gonna do. Soon as the clone(s) had drawn near enough, he would quickly bend his knees and allow Aylin to hop over him and the clones -using his shoulders if necessary- in order to attack Uinsean directly. Meantime, one hand reached into a pocket and drew forth three senbon, placing one in between each finger while his opposite hand fluidly undid a few clips which held his shirt to his upper body. Just as Aylin would go to hop over him -if she would- Masaru would cover her by throwing the three projectiles he drew, one per clone, in a single fluid motion; he would use his sharingan as best he could to help him detect whatever movements the clones made as he threw the senbon at their lower torsos, allowing for better accuracy. He flashed a quick nod a Kenta in the midst of all this. If their Plan A wouldn't work, Plan B would.

Kazuma Hatake
User Image

Kazuma had finally made it to the Academy's Training Grounds. He was stretching his arms across his chest, one after the other, a couple of times to try and loosen up a bit before he started training. Kazuma was itching to try out the Shiroi Yaiba, a technique passed down through his clan's history, sharpening the blade of any weapon he wields with lightning energy. In fact, Kazuma always became excited about learning a new Raiton ninjutsu, especially one specific to his family name, even if he didn't show it. The tanto he wields was a gift from his father, as a symbol of his growth, and his potential. Because of that, he wanted to make his father proud of him by learning to wield it, and using it to defend Konoha and his family name.

However, before he could begin, he noticed a trio of youngsters, off in the distance that he recognized from the academy. He never was much of the social type, but that doesn't mean he didn't pay attention to the people around him, or speak when he was spoken to. Aside form class, Kazuma didn't hang around the other students very often. He was either off training alone, helping his father with anything he could, or at home eating and sleeping. Takahashi was the first to catch his eye. Nobody could mistake those horns on the side of his head. On top of that, he was the only student that constantly wreaked of alcohol. The other two were familiar to him, but he wasn't confident about their names. In fact, he wouldn't be surprised if neither of them knew his.

"Looks like they're all training together. I can see the protector around Takahashi's neck, so they must have already visited the Hokage today, too. I guess they beat me to it. They've even managed to get a higher ranked ninja to help them train. I wonder if they would mind if I trained with them. We're all going to have to work together, at some point in our lives, and father has been pressuring to start socializing a little more. It'd be rude to interrupt them, so I'll just wait over here. Who knows? This could prove to be entertaining."

×××POST: Aylin raised her brow at Unisean's words and rolled her eyes as Masaru. retorted. "Is that a challenge?" Aylin said seriously as a sly smirk glowed upon her face. Aylin pulled his forehead protecter or mouth protecter from his mouth down and pressed her lips against his and jumped over him as he bent his knees, sweeping her foot underneath the real Unisean with all the force and agility. "I guess stealing your first kiss is a punishment of it's own," she said as she got in a stance, definately not letting herself be open for attacks as she glanced over to Unisean.

Aylin assumed that he'd just fall over and land on the floor but it was highly unlikeable on her account. Aylin got into a stance, her hands infront of her body as she looked at Unisean, she bet it was a clone, the image of hm poofing and then appearing again with his real body as the boy laughed at them. Depending on Unisean's appearance alone Aylinbassumed hi
to be only around a year at the most younger than her. Aylin's cheeks turned pink as she finally realized that she'd given her first kiss away all for a prank. Aylin curled her slender fingers into a fist as she lightly hit her head, letting a moment of weakness slip by her.

Getting her head back in the game, Aylin's blush had faded away as she looked over to the usually unsocial Hatake and smiled at him before placing a serious looked on her face. 'Believe....' Aylin thought as she clenched her fists tightly as waited for Kenta's move, or Masaru's, that was if she wasn't attacked by Unisean first.

Kenta was a little sad to hear that they had failed their first test, but at the same time, he was glad that he didn't break away from the group to go on his own. Either way, things would seem to get interesting after that. Looks like another test was going to be starting right now.

Seeing the three clones appear, Kenta could only wonder what it was their teacher had in mind. It was either, take on the clones, or trying and catch Uinsean himself. Of course it seemed that Marasu knew something that he didn't. Watching him have Aylin jump over him and attack the Uinsean that was behind the clones, and Marasu covering the three "clones", Kenta wasn't really sure what to do. Throwing any projectiles put Aylin in reckless danger, and rushing it was never a good idea. Taking a defensive stance, he would wait to see how everything his two partners did played out.

OOC: Please continue as if Masaru had not activated his Sharingan. Apparently, he had not undergone enough 'metal stress' ...thank you!
PostPosted: Sun Oct 23, 2011 5:18 pm

Uinsean had finished his jutsu as they took action, and a large mass of water formed behind him. It began to take the form of a large pendulum, swinging back and forth behind him. Seeing the girl going for him was rather simple at this distance, and he jumped upwards to avoid her sweep. Then backflipped away, keeping them all infront of him.

The clones, meanwhile deflected the needles, by ducking carefully and bringing down a kunai to meet them. They figured this would be their first attempt, but it would be obvious they were shadow clones after affecting the senbon. Then each took off after a genin, attacking them with their backs facing Uinsean. One would come at Kenta, aiming an unusual punch at his chest, it would only affect his breathing for a bit. One would head back, and form a short series of handsigns, sending a relatively weak lightning bolt flying toward Aylin. The last heading for Masaru, snapping a smoke pellet on the ground, and throwing a kick at his side moments later.

Zeramaru walked into the academy and ignored the group training inside. Instead he simply collected a mass amount of jutsu from the Raiton and Doton elements, as well as the Maruton and Kugutsu scrolls. Then he simply secluded himself away from the others and used the helpful teaching environment to quickly begin training his jutsus, the first of which being the Earth Military Movement. It was simple with the help he got from his earth element. Zeramaru simply sank into the earth and from there moved around quickly and easily. He could even sense that which was above through ground through their tremors and noise. Thus the technique would be useful for either escaping or surprise attacking an opponent.
