Rain Yupa Raganui Minamoto But seriously, that was a great game. We made the DM go "I didn't expect you to fight the damn thing." a few times.. before he finally realized that we're PCs, we do stuff like take on the 3 flying cr 4 creatures at level 1, despite all odds against us... and win. I hope Rain figures out that we might do stuff like that here. It's why I statted out the Magistrates, in case they need to sort anything (or anyone) out. Also, if it comes up, the number of Daidoji Guards on the premises is "enough". 4laugh Congrats! I mentioned it cause later, one of the players of the group ran a game with most of the same players.
Ended up saying the exact same line when we fought three cr6 guys who were large, had 6 arms (no legs), and liked to chop people to bits. Or was it something else that he said it about?

They will never make it alive... once we fight in our weakest form of combat. Don't make me whip out my bow!

Keith Valken Lionheart Plainsfox Zanzen is weak with his No Dachi for the same reason that Kojiro is weak at Iaijutsu. His school doesn't give advantages to it. As for Oni, there's only one thing that Kojiro wants to face and that is Masamune! Man, doing Iaijutsu with a Nodachi would be so badass. Unfortunately, I do not think I can.

Plainsfox It seems like the dice have their own plans for the characters. Player 1: I'm going to be a close in bushi that... Dice: WRONG! you're the party's archer. Accept it! Player 2: I'm going to be a stealthy tracker type who.... Dice: WRONG! You're the party's face. Accept it! And so on and so forth. Denbe was supposed to be a bushi mainly, and an investigator secondly, who had a list of other single rank skills to to help him accomplish his investigating and bushing regardless of situation.
Apparently I was wrong and should be ashamed because he is destined to be a storyteller.
