The way stories like this are designed is to give each pairing a bit of potential. xP

Although Haruhi and Mori don't speak to each other very much or spend much time together, Mori does admire her for being very understanding. He smiles at her on more than one occasion... although I do think they're usually in the context of Mori being worried about Hani or taking care of him.

ALSO! Remember the time they all went over to Haruhi's house and Mori started putting the strawberries from his cake on her plate? <333

Although I think the idea of Haruhi and Mori together is cute, it is kind of hard for me to see them developing much of a romantic relationship while they're still in the club or even in school together. It seems like they're simply friends who silently understand each other for now, but I can see them parting after graduation and meeting later on in life and developing a relationship then when they're both comfortable with their growth as independent adults.

Although I adored the "date episode" between Haruhi and Hikaru, I also think Hikaru was still too immature and dependent on Kaoru to be able to develop a healthy relationship with Haruhi. So long as they both continue to cling to their relationship as twins, I don't think either of them will be able to grow into healthy, independent adults. Kaoru seems to recognize this, but since he's a little afraid of the possibility of separation in the future, he chooses to keep things the same as long as they can remain so.

Haruhi's not exactly a Mary Sue, but she does have that mysterious intuition that allows her to read into the feelings of the boys. xP

I really kind of liked the idea of Kyouya and Eclair, too, just because they have similar styles of passive-aggressively going for what they want. They can both be seen as a little cold and calculating, but they really do wish to be able to grow beyond their insecurities and just do whatever makes them happy. Since Kyouya strikes me as a bit more balanced and willing to address his own issues once he recognizes them, it seems to me that he would be the more mature of the two. Eclair, although she will fight for what she wants, she really prefers to have things handed to her, and all she wants is to be loved and cared for. She's not really an evil person, she simply doesn't allow other people's opinions of her to affect her decisions in getting what she wants. On the other hand, because she is insecure, she allows Tamaki's opinions of Haruhi to get to her, and she shows it in a sort of violent jealousy.

My favorite pairing is Tamaki and Haruhi... I know, so generic and everyone knows they're the ones who are going to end up getting together, but.. I think it's interesting when Kyoya's dad says that Haruhi would make a good wife to Kyoya eek That'd be kind of weird... >.>

Eh, for a normal pairing, Would be either Mori with Haruhi, or one of the twins or both with Haruhi. Lol.
