Sephiroth grinned a little when Eztli revealed that little bit of information. He knew that almost all his Limbo companions were involved in the Heegh's ascension or downfall, but no one ever talked about it nor did any of the people whom they had met at Gaia dared ask about it. "I know that almost everyone I've met somehow or another through Galantros was involved in the incident that lead to Heegh's downfall to satan, but no one ever talks about it nor am I usually willing to ask about it...so I had read what writings there are on it and let Rosemary borrow it... It left out many names...especially of the poor soul who was possessed by Heegh, but I figured it out because they mentioned that he became the angel of flames. Since you just mentioned it, are you willing to discuss it with me later so I don't only have the opinion of some writer and if it makes it any easier I will share about being possessed by a dormant Jiluzix?

"But I think it's more important to cheer Rosemary up if she is currently a little down. I asked about any spars with angels because I do not believe any, even Thas, has ever asked her to show her skills to him, which is a shame really. I've noticed that after a majority of fights she looks exhilarated. A frown is turned upside down...that sort of thing. What I propose is this: we seek her out, kidnap her, take her to that secrete angel training simulator, and attack. She can take it out on us and we can have the daylights kicked out of us without getting hurt... though... I know this puts you at a disadvantage... don't overuse your fires. Even if it's a simulation or if she's gained more tolerance that we are unaware of to them since becoming an angel, she's still terrified of it."
PostPosted: Sun Jan 18, 2009 11:51 pm

"I suppose none of us really talk about that time because well... we all came extremely close to losing not just each other, but the entire realm of Limbo. And if Limbo fell, that could mean the same for a large amount of other places. Even Xylanthos and Tiamos came close to death that time around. But I guess it's past time to start sharing the story with people I know a little more often, than just letting the tabloids and various history books have their say... I'll take you up on your offer, Sephiroth.

"Cheering up Rosemary sounds like a good idea. Galantros talks about you guys a lot, and it seems like you're all very good friends to him. Rosemary seems like one of his closer friends certainly, after what I witnessed on Ni'Jitogrimiz... I'll go set up the simulator, and you can bring them in within the next.... ten minutes or so. I'll be sure to keep my fire under control."

He paused for a moment before flying off towards the fortress.

"You know, it occured to me, I don't know a lot of you very well, except for Githar and Malos. I should probably work on changing that. I spend so much time 'working' that I forget that it isn't necessary to be on call 24/7 sometimes, that I'm not the only angel around... Maybe once this situation blows over, I'll make more of an effort to get to know you all."

Or he's one of her's thought Sephiroth. "...I don't think she's quite recovered from that..."

As Eztli flew off, Sephiroth wondered if he worked so much as a way to make up for the acts he did while possessed by Heegh. It was very likely.

He remembered when he stumbled onto it. He was very confused how he found it if non-angelics weren't supposed to even be able to find or approach it and they were confused and almost had an indignant air about them. He had promised to keep his mouth shut about it, which he did but he now wondered if he could bring Veni and Jacob with her if she was with them which was likely. He put the side of his fist to his lips and chin in thought. He wouldn't mind them watching, she would likely love it, they might enjoy seeing their darling practice with other angels. Would he be able to get them all there?

Hmm...What was his technical rank anyways? Was it the same as Eztli's and Rosemary's? If that was true why did he put off more holy energy or spirit than those two when his wings were exposed which gave him the feeling like he was closer to God then them? Was it a difference in faith? He frowned at his own thoughts. He hoped he wasn't being arrogant...faith difference wasn't likely... but maybe he had to be closer because he knew that he couldn't use the full extent of his world destroying gifts without either a lot of energy or God's grace.

"Can I take them with me?" Half asking the source of the holy spirit feeling from his wings and half asking himself. "....Well I am not receiving a negative feeling about it and if I couldn't...I'm sure some barrier would stop me."

He sought them out and when he found them, he challenged Rosemary to a dual against he and Eztli. It had been long coming. He was surprised he never challenged either of them before just to see how long he could last against a vampire if at all. He gathered them up like a meteor striking the ground and teleported them to their destination.

The training room for angels was in the lower, underground levels of the Soul Fortress. Eztli walked his way down stairs (he easily could've have taken a teleportation "elevator" or even a standard elevator, but he felt like walking), hand running across the wall full of creeping beautiful vines as he moved. Just as he arrived, there was a tri of angels leaving the room, talking idly about how certain angelics didn't seem to choose sides, or the right side, and that elementals and emotionals seemed to be amongst them sometimes. There were a few snobbish remarks too about how they weren't exactly reaching God's glory that way either.

For a moment, the angels Delerium and Reason came to mind. There were rumors that they didn't exactly come from Heaven themselves, or at least didn't serve it 100% loyally. The more Eztli thought about it, it seemed like they may have been slaves to their roles more than anything, from stories he's heard from his friends. Had there been times Reason and Delerium helped the Satans? Delerium certainly for Heegh... or rather, hindered because he couldn't stand her randomness according to stories from Reason. But then, how would Reason know? ... Was Heegh becoming more cunning and sensible, thus envoking Reason's role? Maybe in the end, they were in a hidden or strange way still serving God. Just not very clearly to others.

Eztli shook these thoughts, and opened access to the training room. It was set up similarly to the Holo-Gamer at THoR, only there was a more professional feel about it, and more seating for audiences. Eztli immediately went to the console terminal for the room and starting messing with options, preparing for their little bout with Rosemary. He'd just finished when Sephiroth and the others arrived.

Rosemary shifted her weight with a slight nervous excitement. "Where are we anyways?"

Sephiroth answered, "A special place under the Soul Fortress where angels only can train..."

Rosemary face palmed and growled a little asking all the angels that weren’t there why they hadn't ever mentioned a place of practice outside of heaven. She'd been doing it on her own a couple of years now.

Sephiroth speaking directly to Eztli's head as he pulled out his sword and stepped up to the plate. "Now that Eztli is a display of righteous indignation."

Rosemary took out her two arm blades and stood away from them. "Why did you two so suddenly decide to challenge me?"

"Do we need a reason to challenge someone who enjoys a friendly duel now and then?"

"I suppose not."

When Eztli basically hit the start button, Sephiroth opened with a spell that caused Rosemary to pause a little finding it odd that she couldn't bring herself to move quite as fast as she could. It was still significantly above the average human speed, but it wasn't quite as eye blurring as she could do either. As she paused, he touched Eztli and cast a spell that allowed them to move more quicker and possibly at least even up movement speed with her.

The area around them suddenly became a rocky, snow covered mountainous landscape. Snow flurried about in the wind, making it difficult to see at times. Eztli shivered a bit out of instinct.

Just as Sephiroth finished casting his spells, Eztli unsheathed and flung his boomerang at Rosemary's head, curved sharp blades jutting out from it's sides. Sensing that she'd easily dodge or block such a blow, immediately after his fiery wings threw a second boomerang that he kept hidden.

What a perfect setting for her; she could easily make it difficult for people to see by blowing down a cloud, cause the snow to flurry, or summon some fog...which she did of course as it was an easy trick.

Rosemary caught the first boomerang. That was an interesting skill Eztli had; throwing a boomerang with his wing. She wondered if she could do something like that as she had it bounce off her wrist blade and threw the one she caught back at Eztli very hard.

Sephiroth bounced it down at the reapers feet as he went in to strike at Rosemary with his sword. While he kept her away from him with his blows, Eztli picked up his boomerang threw it, vanished, and appeared behind her coming down with a heated kick.

Instead of landing it on her head or shoulder, like he should of, he landed a few feet above her sinking in as if.... Normally she would have let his kick hit to see his strength, but she sensed heat in it. At the same instant Eztli landed on her wing, Rosemary blocked the blow that came down on her from Sephiroth and cut her arm a bit as she grabbed the blunt part of the sword. In the next instant Eztli bounced up as if he landed on a trampaline, as Rosemary lifted Sephiroth up, and threw the massive man at the equally tall fire angel in one motion without any pause in movement from stress. All done before Sephiroth could realize she was holding onto his sword for than and before Eztli realized he had landed on her near invisible normally quite penetrable wings.

Eztli barely managed to catch Sephiroth and hurled him back down towards the ground so he could regroup and attack once more. Meanwhile, Eztli stayed in the air and gathered up his boomerangs. If throwing them wouldn't work...

Moving decisively, he hurled one behind Rosemary, intentionally missing. He then came at her with the other boomerang, using it as a melee weapon with some of the blades jutting out to hopefully cut and slash at her. While he attempted to keep her busy this way, his other boomerang would circle around back and hopefully smack her in the back of her head.

Rosemary dodged Eztli's attempt at a boomerang slash, taking her own blade, and slashing an open wound on his stomach. He could feel his life essence and energy drain away rapidly, especially when she twisted the blade cruelly. Just as she finished this however, Eztli's second boomerang finally came back around and smacked her in the back of the head, lopping off some of her hair. Eztli takes this chance to come back and slash her across the upper arm with his first boomerang's blades.

This, along with the blow to the skull, forces Rosemary back and frees Eztli from her blade's grip, thus allowing Sephiroth to start his next attack. Large frozen hail falls from the sky, starting to pummel at the angelic vampiress. In an automatic defensive reaction, she drew back, bringing her wings up in front of her in as solid a form as possible to deflect the icy stones. During all this, while Sephiroth was attacking, and Eztli was attempting to recover, Rosemary's sliced hair started to squirm on the ground, shifting it's shape. Suddenly, thousands of vicious, biting spiders were rapidly making their way towards the two angelic men.

Eztli notice at the last moment, and hastily put up two heat auras, one around himself and another around Sephiroth. As soon as any of the spiders came close to contact with them, they began to burn rapidly, catching flame even. When Sephiroth went to turn his attention back to Rosemary, he found that the flying snow and nasty spiders had made enough of a distraction to allow her to get away. Both men went on guard immediately, Eztli's boomerangs bursting into flame.

Rosemary reappeared some distance away out of their sight and felt the back of her head, looked at her hand, and then almost touched it again as if she had an eyeball to see the wound on her hand. Eztli's one hit to the back of the head had hit her just right and did a surprising amount of damage.

She had a horrible migraine that didn't want to null down and as a consequence she was unable to know what they were thinking very clearly. She wasn't even sure if Sephiroth's spell had a short span or a long one...and if it was long, she couldn't wait it out. She couldn't easily backstab Eztli for those damn wings were there and pulling out guns would likely be considered cheating.

She disfigured her body, vanished, and did a slashing motion in the air with her claw like hands. At the same time she did this the two men received gashes all over. She reappeared and unleashed the stunning effect her blade had stored up on the fire angel from his own energy. Sephiroth sliced through her shadowy form, but it did him no good as he was stabbed as her body wrapped around his and crushed him like some snake.

As soon as Eztli recovered enough, he gave Sephiroth that heat aura again and Rosemary was almost instantly off of hi and back in her more human form.

Once Rosemary was off Sephiroth, Eztli didn’t hesitate. He rushed in, blades jutting out of his boomerangs and sank both of them into Rosemary’s shoulders, the weapons still burning with a slight flame. Rosemary made a pained noise and dug her nails into his side and kneed him as hard as she could in the stomach to try to get him off.

During Eztli’s attack, Sephiroth had moved to the side, summoned a small meteor, hopefully just powerful enough. Despite the punishment he was receiving from Rosemary, Eztli clung onto her, digging his boomerangs deeper into her shoulders. Just as she finally managed to fling him off, a screaming, burning from the atmosphere rock smashed into her, pummeling her deep into a crater in the mountain's earth. Eztli was still relatively close to the blast, and was sent flying from the impact, skidding to a stop just short of the edge of a mountain cliff.

Veni stared at the scene from his seat. Sephiroth's wings had wrapped around himself protectively. He couldn't move or even pick up his weapon in his current form because Rosemary broke it. Rosemary reformed from mist unconscious in the crater and then automatically teleported out of it to a safer less flesh scalding place. Eztli, who had also received a good beating from the vampire before impact, wasn't moving on his cliff. His wings burned less intensely. "So...who won?"

Jacob scratched the back of his head.

"I'm not entirely sure. If I had to guess, I'd have to say it was... ...Sephiroth?"

The man in question stumbled to his feet, looking worse for wear but still standing out of the three. Just then, the illusion around them ended, and the false and seemingly real injuries and concussions vanished from everyone. It was a strange thing to feel like you were knocked out cold, and to suddenly come to without any real harm done. Eztli still wasn't used to it himself as he dusted himself off and flexed his fiery wings a bit.

"That was a good fight, Rosemary. You got me pretty good there, especially at the end..."

Just as the group opened the doors and started to leave, they were confronted by what looked like a well armored and none-too-pleased looking angel. His wings shifted agitatedly behind him, with his arms crossed over his chest. He almost seem to look with a sneer at Veni and Jacob, and with a lesser extent at the others.

"Non-angelics should not be in a training room intended for angelics. It's a horrible distraction."

Eztli narrowed his eyes at the attitude that was coming off this larger and more pompous seeming angel. He was about to respond until Thas' voice behind the angel cut him off.

"I'm fairly sure the soul guiders will find that to be a terrible insult, Lethis. Besides, what good is an angel if they can't deal with a distraction? Why do you always insist on instigating troubles, Lethis? If you've come here to train, then train. Otherwise, leave my friends be."

The large angel relented, mumbling to himself as he brushed by the others into the training room. Insulting words about amatuerish elementals, the undead, and the previously possessed were barely heard. Thankfully, the vampries superior hearing picked it up, and Rosemary transmitted such to Thas.

"I'll be sure to share your thoughts of others that are different and unique with our superiors, Lethis. I'm sure they'll be pleased about your open-mindedness."

Thas simply grinned as the door closed between his group and the now shocked angel.

"That was panic while trying to get you off of me. You could have done better. You went easy, I know you did. You could have done more than flaming boomerangs in the shoulder, but you didn't. I appreciate the restraint, since I am afraid of fire and would have taken you out sooner if not for that slow spell which is not likely to work again," Sephiroth merely smiled at her sideways glare, "but I'm not sure I like that you held back either..."
PostPosted: Thu Jan 29, 2009 12:14 am

Sephiroth smiled at her look. "Just wait until she gets better with that wind. What a scary gale force she will be."

A very rude angel appeared, there seemed to be a lot of them and the swordsman was about to say "I brought them," but Eztli showed up and he hid his displeasure at the angel behind his hair as he walked by. "Even angels will be judged..."

As they walked out Sephiroth asked about something Thas had said, "Who are your superiors anyways?" Rosemary sort of raised an eyebrow at this curious herself, "I don't really know any angelic except you, Rosemary and Eztli here, Inazuma, somewhat, Reason, even less, and...does Milaku count? What rank are you? What rank are we? From what I can tell, we are near the bottom with the way everyone acts and all these elemental comments I keep hearing."

"Actually, Rosemary and Eztli are considered lower ranking. As well as yourself, even though technically you should be of a higher rank, your inexperience is what keeps you down.

I'm technically about a medium rank in the hiearchy, though there's still plenty of times it doesn't feel like it. Lethis was only about a rank above you all, and I two above him, so I was able to make him back off somewhat. My threat of informing my superiors of his actions and behavior isn't an idle one either. My superiors... Well aside from the obvious answer of God and his archanggels, there's the elites, the honored, and the overseers. Normally you would all answer to me for any issues or questions, or someone of my similar rank. I'm an enforcer. I immediately answer to overseers.

Rosemary and Eztli of course are elementals. Lethis is a warrior, though lately his behavior has been very disruptive, so he may be demoted down to the basic angelic. Sephiroth, you're a protector, the same level as Rosemary and Eztli, though techinically.... given time, you'll outrank me as an elite I feel, hovering just below the powerful archangels. Milaku... well, oddly enough she has more of a choice unlike you did Sephiroth. Were she to officially join up, she'd start at the rank of protector as well."

And thus, Thas began to explain what each rank's job description was:

Archangel: The most powerful warriors of God, they take their orders from the Creator Himself. They are unmatched in combat and ability. Unfortunately, they are also rarely seen.

Elite: Very powerful angels, of which is rumored that some could destroy entire worlds if called upon to do so. Some have elemental abilities, some do not, but all have a great wealth of holy energy and a vast power to manipulate it as they see fit once they learn how.

Honored: Special soldiers that have two or more elemental abilities, though are unable to master them like the Elemental angelics are. However, their variety and ability to manipulate holy energy to a much further degree than any before them place them above the others. Both the Honored and Elites take their orders from the Archangels and God.

Overseers: Overseers rarely enter combat themselves, but they are more than skilled enough. Their job is to help sort out squabbles amongst the ranks and settle differences. They use Enforcers to help accomplish their jobs and keep order. Overseers receive their own orders from all ranks above them.

Enforcers: A medium level of soldier, directly ordered by the Overseers. They sort out and give orders that are decreed by their superiors. They also give critical information back to the Overseers from the lower ranks

Arms and Relic Crafters: Angelic smith makers of powerful weapons, armor, and magic items used by almost all of the other angels. They usually avoid combat so they can avoid being captured to continue making important items and so their abilities will not be abused for the wrong side.

Warriors: Skilled warriors with minor holy energy abilities. They share many of the same jobs as Protectors, except with a few more advanced tasks.

Elementals and Protectors: Elementals are angels that can eventually learn mastery over a single element and have the same job as Protectors, which is to do what they can to protect the general populace and to fulfill orders given to them. Protectors may not have any elemental ability, but are very skilled in combat. Elemental is not only a rank, but a designation of ability for an angel as well. However, usually Elementals stay at the Protector level.

Angelics: Messengers and deliverers of important relics and items.
