After recovering her Pokemon, Henrietta thought about letting them out since Darumi seemed intent on remaining outside of his ball. While there was no protest with Socant, Darumi seemed insistent on her not releasing Melty. As a result, it was Henrietta and Darumi that exited the center.

The tired feeling set in once more and she began to move toward the grass without much of a sense of direction. The end result had her running into Robby and bouncing off of him for the second time. This time she caught herself, with a wince, and she lowered in head in embarrassment.

"Sorry!" she said, her face retaking the usual red tinge.

Salieri's eyes widened at Eunmi's tactic of propulsion as Chen Zhen's Brick Break attack hit nothing. As far as she had known, Oshawott didn't have any attacks like that. The pokedex said that it fought with it's schalchop, not with jets of water. Wow, pokemon are awesome, she thought in amazement as Dali came in for another Tackle. But I can't just rely on the pokedex, it seems.

"Block and Bullet Seed!” Salieri ordered quickly, this time in a less cocky manner. Chen Zhen stepped backwards while clapping his arms around Dali. He had wanted to block the entire attack with a Brick Break, but there wasn’t enough time. Instead, he used his arms to stop most of the force of the blow. The Tackle still made contact though, and Chen Zhen exhaled a gasp of breath as his stomach was pounded on.

But now he had a hold on Dali, and if he could keep it then he could use Bullet Seed to it’s full potential. Staggering backwards, he lifted up Dali and flipped him over: Dali was now being held upsidedown in a bear hug by Chen Zhen, facing away from the Pansage.

Chen Zhen opened his mouth and fired seed after seed at Dali continuously in a stream, aiming at the center of the Oshawott’s back to maximize the damage into a specific area. Striking repeatedly on the spine would be killer to Oshawott’s sturdiness and balance in the fight, and would probably deal a lot of damage with super effective hits.

Dali squirmed in it's captors grasp, twisting and grabbing its shell to block what it could, but the position and typing put him at a severe disadvantage.

"Stop," Eunmi said, advancing a step forward, cautious not to get too close because of the stray bullet seeds. Oshawott suddenly disappeared in a red beam of light; Eunmi's hand was outstretched, clutching a Poké ball. She was all for learning technique, and having the Pokémon improve, but not at the expense of getting hurt. There was no way to learn anything further from the current state of battle.

She looked down at the Poké ball, feeling a bit disheartened. Da Vinci was useless - all he ever did was doodle on whatever surface he could find with his tail. Dali was supposed to protect her, and all she'd done today was run away from wild Pokémon and get him hurt. She didn't even want to be a Pokémon trainer, but if she didn't train him, she'd never be able to survive the trip to Castelia City.

"Sorry," Eunmi said politely. She smiled to mask her disappointment and ruffled her pulled back hair. "I wish that could have been a longer match."

Salieri flashed a slightly smug smile. She was confident that she was going to win in the first place, but she didn’t expect it to be so quick. “No, it was a good match,” Salieri reassured, and this was genuine. Well, considering she had never had a battle before this one, she didn’t have anything to compare it to. In her mind’s eye, Salieri made a tally on a mental chalkboard. Salieri: One, the World: Zero.

In two flashes of red light, Chen Zhen and Liuye Dao were returned to their poekballs, which were in either of Salieri’s hands. She walked over to Eunmi and held out her hand for a handshake. “Thanks for the battle, Emi. You’ve got the judgment to be a good fighter, you know.”

"Heh," she chuckled, taking Salieri's hand and shaking it lightly. "I'd rather be on a runway than in a stadium."

Eunmi glanced back at Da Vinci - the Smeargle was sitting on the ground playing with his toes. She grimaced.

"Will you please, for once, not embarrass me?" she hissed. "Get up. On your feet. NO - two feet. Not..."

The Smeargle stood on all fours, stretched forward, and plopped back down on the ground to sleep.

"Ohmygod," Eunmi scowled. "Why doesn't he ever listeeeen...?" she whined under her breath as she knelt down and scooped him up, struggling for a moment with his weight.

"Hey, do you know where the uhm," she paused. There was a word for it. It was stupid and easy to remember. Her mom kept saying it over and over, but she hadn't been listening. "That place you... like, uh. Well, it's like an Inn or something - you rest up your Pokémon there.

"What was it called again?" she grumbled.

Salieri rose an eyebrow at Eunmi lack of knowledge. "Uh, the Pokemon Center." The Battle Girl placed one hand on her hip and pointed towards Accumula Town. "It's the big red and white building with the pokeball signm you can't miss it."

She paused, looking at the way Eunmi cuddled her Smeargle. Her former opponent didn't seem to know much about pokemon at all. "Sooo, if you don't mind me asking, why did you decide to become a pokemon trainer Eunmi?"

Eunmi pushed Da Vinci up on her shoulder, and he hung there without a care of falling, forcing her to keep her hand on his back.

"Uh, well," she said, looking back towards Route 1. "My parents wanted me to go on a 'Pokemon Trainers Journey' or whatever. They've been hassling me about it for years. I put it off, 'cause you know, school, but... then grades came out from last semester, and my mom kind of freaked out.

"She was all, "If you can't keep your grades up, you obviously have your head stuck up in the clouds!' and 'Art? What is that going to do for your future?!'" Her impersonation of her mother made her wrinkle her nose and hunch over, and she did a pretty decent korean accent.

"So she pretty much 'suggested' it for me. As a way of 'growing up'," Eunmi shrugged. Then, she smiled, and stuck out her tongue slyly.

"I'm going as far as Castelia City - set up a studio or get a job at one, anything that'll get me closer to the fashion and art there," she mused.

She pulled Da Vinci off her shoulder and cradled him in her arms, poking his nose gently.

"'What she doesn't know' and all that."

Salieri's amusement at her initial impression of Eunmi faded away as the rookie trainer spoke, and instead was replaced with some more respect for her. She sounded a lot more in her element when she wasn't talking about pokemon training. And even though she didn't look like it at first, to Salieri's trained eye it seemed that Eunmi knew at least something more about martial arts than the average person.

"So you wanna be some kind of artist, huh?" Sal said as she put her hands behind her head. "I'm an artist myself. A martial artist, anyway. I started training in order to perfect my skills, so I can become the best gym leader in the world!"

Now she was starting to show more enthusiasm as she spoke about her goals. Sal's previously mellow happiness became more upbeat the more she talked. "Well, as one artist to another, how about I show you to the pokemon center? I have to go and refresh Chen Zhen anyway so we can get to some real training."

"Ah, that would be great," Eunmi nodded, grinning. "Chen Zhen is your...?

"Ah, I forget," she scratched the back of her head. "It's the green guy, right?"

She pulled out her Pokédex and clicked it open. The Pansage flicked up on the screen, giving her a whole lot of information she barely even glanced at.

"That explains why it was so agile," she commented, pressing the Pokédex to her bottom lip. "What kind of martial arts do you do? Kung fu?"

She rose her hand up in the air, delicately trying to balance Da Vinci's weight in her arm while imitating a weird move based on an Arbok in a movie she'd seen a few weeks ago. She misjudged the weight difference and stumbled to her left, snickering at herself as she did so.

"Karate, maybe?"

Sal chuckled at Eunmi's attempt to make a move. "My kung fu is from my dad," she explained as she began to walk back towards town. "He used to be the gym leader for Saffron City's Fighting type gym, back when we lived in Kanto. That was up until Sabrina came, and got the rights to the gym in a match."

The Battle Girl said the name 'Sabrina' with some venom to it, but shifted her mood back to happy with a confident smile. "Dad's given up on it, but I won't. If my older bro isn't gonna do anything about it, I'll take my rightful place as heir to the Saffron Gym back." She nodded with an optimistic flair, reaffirming her goal.

"Saffron..." Eunmi thought back to her geography class a few years back. How had she passed that class? She suddenly remembered after going through a series of jumps, connecting the Magnet Train from Goldenrod to Saffron City.

"Hah!" she said, a little too enthusiastically. "Saffron has all those buildings right? Slive Corp or something, right? Slirf, slife... Silph! Silph Co."

She eagerly held up an empty Poké ball.

"Mass producers of these things, right?" She looked down at the red and white ball. "They make nice cell phones, too. But you want to put a dojan- er, I mean a dojo or something there?

"Isn't it a bit metropolitan for that sort of thing?"

Salieri's optimistic confidence came to a halt at a roadblock of confusion, flustering her. "Err...well..." Eunmi had a good point there. Salieri's father used to say, after being defeated by Sabrina, that the gym wouldn't have gotten far anyway in a place like Saffron. It was too old fashioned for the big city.

"Uh, nope!" Salieri continued with shaky confidence and a slightly red face as they re-entered Accumula Town's busy streets. "My family's dojo was there for generations. That's where it was and that's where it'll be again someday, promise!" Salieri tacked on a laugh like her father's at the end, although it came out more as shaky than hearty.

The obese lad found himself with a little bit more added momentum than he would have liked, which caused a stumble, ending in a lucky stop. Sure, normally he could have stood his ground against weight so much smaller than his, but his foot was up and he was waddling forward. This thing had hit his back...

He turned around, hearing the apology, to find that it was the same person as before. "Oh, you again. You got a knack fer bumpin' into the most obvious things." He looked back towards where he was headed. Route two. Did that mean she was headed off for Striaton too?

He put the thought out of his head and instead tried to look imposing. A moment later, Robby was too busy eating his chips to care about looking imposing. Too much work, not enough deliciousness.

"Hu-hum, sorry," Henrietta said as she kept her head down and took a few steps back. She'd wait until Robby started walking again and then she'd follow after.

Why? Well, he'd saved her last time and, to be honest, she was scared of being attack there. She felt safer with a traveling partner although she'd never outright ask.
