The girl screamed, a scream so loud and piercing it struck likely straight to Sypher's soul.

And then she exploded.

The vapor that came from her body was brown and toxic, and as it spread out to those infected they, too, began to cough and swell before erupting.

As the explosions ceased, Sypher found himself standing amidst a carnage of dead bodies, blood and gore everywhere, the taste of Septima fresh within his mouth.

And amid the carnage came a cough, and a wail of a newborn child that seemed to come from the coffin on the altar.

Sypher was left kneeling in the carnage, his body stone and cold. He couldn't move, couldn't breathe or even think. The only thing that got him moving, got him to take a shaking breath, was the wail of a child What...? he stumbled up and practically fell to the side of the coffin, staring...at a baby. It was just laying there, wailing as it struggled against the burial shroud that had been wrapped around it "..." He knew why this baby had been left...another damn test. This child had been left here, on purpose. Well...he still had the kunai in his hand, blood still wet. Sypher was covered in the gore himself and probably looked like something from hell. As he raised the knife over the child, he felt like a demon...a monster. And he stopped. The kunai was in his hand, raised as the baby opened its eyes to look at him through tears and suddenly became blurry. Feeling the tears start again, Sypher knew it was his own eyes that had caused the change and he dropped back to his knees, doubled over the coffin as he sobbed. His howls were as loud as the baby's and both of them cried for some time before the kunai dropped to the ground. He couldn't kill this child. Septima's scream still rang in his very being. He couldn't take another life...not another innocent life. Reaching in, he took the now weakly crying baby and held it gently, rocking back and forth as his own sobs continued. Slowly, the child stopped crying and fell asleep in his arms "Forgive me, Septima and all those who died...I'm going to find this b*****d...and I'll kill him. I'll destroy him...but I can't kill this child. I can't...." he went to touch the child but saw his hand, covered in blood and...he didn't want to know. But he lifted the burial shroud and covered the child's head and stood, holding it under its back and behind the head "...hospital." he muttered and vanished, using shunshin to take himself and the child away from the horror behind him. As soon as they left, Anbu arrived, alerted by Sypher, and quarantined the area.

Sebastian reached the quarantine check point, and revealed his medical status while giving his name. As someone who was well versed in specimen collection and research, and turning his skills into a diagnostic tool, Sebastian was the best person for the job. Speaking, he addressed the crew.

"Alright, I'm in charge here. This is a biohazard and biological weapon ground zero site. Put on your Hazmat suits, and keep them on. Check your partners and make sure that they are negatively pressurized. There will be no chakra used, until i discern that this threat does not latch on and transform when more chakra is added to it. It is currently a running theory of mine after observing multiple exhibits. We enter, and we observe, we collect. Understood? We are going to have to do this the old fashioned way. "

An ANBU stepped up to Sebastian as his team spread out into the area, pausing for a moment. The surrounding area was filled with body matter and a thick smog seemed to hang over the ground, milling around ankles. The inside of the shrine had gore splattered along the walls and up onto the ceiling, a single coffin shoved up against a wall. The ANBU, a veteran to horrors like this, seemed a little off his game, pale and sweaty as he spoke "We've secured the area with jutsu seals that prevent this...fog from spreading. No one touched any of the...the body...bodies." he managed, his voice a little shaky.

Sebastian knew how to deal with people who where horrified of trauma like this. people where horrified of stuff he said and did on a regular basis. Talking to what was supposed to be a superior officer wouldnt really work in this manner. He would have to be the consoling medic.

"At ease, soldier. You did the right thing, and followed protocol exactly as you should have. Can my team enter through your sealing jutsu to collect investigate and collect samples? Does your jutsu stop us from going through?"

The ANBU shook his head "The seal won't prevent anyone from getting in. When you need to leave, we'll need to create a separate seal around your persons that will allow you out." he said firmly, keeping his attention focused forward and not on the...the carnage behind him. He swallowed then said quietly "Many of my men arrived here before we secured it...they've moved through this fog...are they in danger?" his concern was real. The men were staying a distance from the others but he wanted to get them treated if he needed to.

Sebastian tried to to keep his voice calm to help the man in charge. If his men were unprotected, then Sebastian needed to make sure that he had all the bases covered.

"Thats what i am trying to found out. Are these men them? Have they gone anyplace else but here after securing the area?"

Sebastian, if they where in the area, would utilized his medically enlightened senses to check their various systems, using his previously obtained knowledge about what they were fighting to narrow down a diagnosis to make sure that they were safe and un affected.

After listening to the barrier crew, Sebastian gave a nod and motioned for his team to pass through the sealing unit.

"Good. Im glad you followed protocol. Ill figure out what is going on inside, then ill come diagnose you guys. I think the biohazard is somehow connected with chakra, but i think the barrier crew should be fine. Let me do my job, then ill come check you all out."

Sebastian and the rest of his crew would pass through the barrier, and make it to the shrine area. The other individual's would go and start collecting samples on a large scale from the fog, bodies, and the blood, doing their own physical checks and tests for any known pathogen, chemical, or substance that could have caused this. Sebastian on the other hand was like a walking dream team of a crime solving unit. Using his medically enlightened senses, Sebastian would focus and scan all the biologicals of what was going around, the fog, the blood and the bodies, getting even a cellular look as to what happened and what kind of trauma/forces had occurred. Using his prior knowledge he had obtained through detailed eye witness accounts, personal experience, as well as fast research, it was only a mater of time before Sebastian would break the case. Whatever had happened here, Sebastian would know how and why really quickly. From there, he would be able to research or at least form a hypotheses as to what they where fighting.

The Captain nodded sharply but couldn't shake the fear he felt for his men. Some of them had already collapsed, the ones who had become into contact with the mist, and one was starting to go into violent shakes. This one, inside the quarantine area, was now vomiting violently into the ground. Blood and bile mixed, further blood coming from his orifices. Bloody tears wiped their way down his cheeks as he struggled to stay upright....but a massive spasm ran through his body and he collapsed on the ground. The Captain stiffened as the other sickened ANBU went to the collapsed man's aid but....he couldn't. His fist tightened and he shouted at Sebastian "MEDIC! Help him!" he pointed at the man who was now making a horrible screaming sound, thrashing so badly the other, weaker, men were literally thrown to the ground.

Sebastian's senses quickly tuned ont the injured ANBU, but he quickly gave a barked order.

"Vacuum the mist into the jars, and clean up as best you can. The common denominator of this incident is the mist, so we need to clear it out as fast as possible. Get to it. Ill handle this anbu."

The Medic Quickly made his way over the the ANBU, making sure his hazmat suit was still in fine working order. He moved the other weaker ANBU away, before he himself flashed quickly onto the sickened man. keeping him still to make sure he didnt further injure himself, the medic yelled at one of his other subordinates.

"Get these other ninja to the hospital using the Captains special seal. Quarantine them, and run diagnostics quickly and attempt to treat as fast as possible. This pathogen connects to chakra, so be careful. If we throw them on a dialysis machine, because blood is connected to life and chakra is life force, we should be able to attempt to clean out as much as possible. Go now!

Meanwhile, Sebastian used his medically enlightened senses to nearly instantly know what was going wrong with this fallen ANBU. He would also use this time to confirm his suspicion.

"Captain, did he perform any other techniques besides the barrier?"

Internally, the sick ANBU was a disaster. His internal organs were eating themselves, the chemicals dissolving the inner linings of the stomach, small and large intestine as well as the bladder. Worse, the chemicals were releasing gases that had escaped into the body proper and were filling it up. The result was a dangerous combination of gases designed to cause the body to....explode. While the ANBU was still alive. Already his stomach was bulging unnaturally and his left leg had started to split, the skin ripping and blood and muscle starting to seep out.

The Captain shook his head "No. Because we didn't know what the mist was or what it contained, I ordered them to refrain from using any chakra period." he stopped as he noticed his ANBU's leg and felt a wave of nausea coming over him. The man had a family....if he died...."Please...help him, medic."

Sebastian's Diagnosis was not good. This ANBU needed attention, and it needed it now. Taking his medicines, Sebastian had gathered a few materials from the hospital to aid in this predicament. Taking a select set of chemicals, sebastian loaded them into his blade Basilisk and gave the Captain a little nerves look.

"This will look a little strange, and counter productive, but i assure you i know what i am doing. I need you to prepare yourself to escort this man to the Hospital. We all need to vacate this area until it is properly sanitized." "

Sebastian then took his blade and run a couple of cuts along the most injured areas, and made on incision across the stomach. Because the sword was similar to the jellyfishe's Nematocytes, armed with Nematocysts, the larger the surface area the faster the chemicals could reach all areas of the body.

"I loaded him with a chemical that will attach and capsulize the pathogen, like a synthetic macrophage of specialized white blood cells. It will be contained inside the blood. To speed up the process, tell the hospital to put him in a hyperbaric chamber while running dialysis. Because it started in a mist form, i think its affecting other cells i cant reach to. The pressure would allow it to be dissolved into the blood, allow the growing gas to completly dissipated. The cuts i made shoudl allow the pressure in the body to rise slower, but you must hurry! Go Now!"

Continuing with the rest of the subordinates, they became to vac the mist out of the shrine, as well as attempt to clean up the blood. While doing this, Sebastian used his senses to further analyze the structure of the pathogen, posisbly understanding its origins. If he could understand how the chakra formed the pathogen, he could prehaps know how to create an antidote, or at least medication to help everyone out.

As soon as Sebastian was finished, the Captain grabbed his man and was gone. Almost all of them were. It was like the ANBU had completely evacuated the area to the hospital. Those who were sick were helped by the others.

As Chokichi walked across the water, he remember the first time he had came here. It was hard for him to walk on the water. Even though Chokichi was still a Genin, it wasn't hard for him to make it to the shrine because he was a Suiton user. Plus he had way more experience.
