Hajime's eyes widened in shock. He knew this person! Standing before him was the b*****d who turned him into what he was now. His high school bully Gundo Jiro. First confusion then fear welled up inside him. How could Jiro be here? Had his spirit come to torment him yet again? Anger replaced the fear as he heard once again the words that drove him to murder on that day several years before.
He knocked aside the incoming punch. "You should be dead!" he screamed, eyes bulging in anger and insanity. "I'll kill you! I'll kill you! I'll kill you!"
He took the last two of his throwing knives and stabbed frantically at the head, shoulder and chest area of the man before him.

Ichiro dropped the illusion there, banishing his red oni, and summoning the blue oni in its place. He lifted mightily on the weight of his kanabo, and brought it down hard on his opponent's shoulder, intending to bring the man to his knees.

Hajime jumped to the side, dodging the last attack.
As the last of Ichiro's illusion faded, he realized what had happened. He glared at Ichiro with eyes full of hate. "You... Did this!? Screw the tournament! I won't let you live!" He ran again at Ichiro despite the yells and warning of the referee.

Ichiro stepped back quickly with Bringer Light, and brought the kanabo down on the raging man's body, slamming him into the concrete.
"I'm sorry, but you're a danger. Perhaps Daisuke's friends will look kindly upon you in Seireitei." With a mighty roar, Ichiro slammed his massive weapon down with bone-crushing force, ending the human life of the unfortunate soul before him.

The sound of tall heels striking a hard surface echoed across the slowly-refilling stadium. Daisuke, Cullingblade, Haruka, MIKA, and Ichiro had long since taken their seats of honor in the VIP box, high above the stadium. Above them loomed the Demon King's private box, but dark magic shaded him from view. Hedy Eisenburg stood in the middle of the arena, awaiting her next opponent. While she waited, she summoned her Spielzeug. She produced from the space within her officer's jacket a necklace with a Christmas ornament hanging from it.
"Zeig dich, Ludwig!" she commanded, holding aloft the happy little gingerbread man.

Kaori gracefully entered the arena, her colorful umbrella open and resting on her shoulder; her kimono smoothed and unwrinkled. It was finally her turn to show what she could do. Though she had joined tournament simply to prevent the king's throne from falling into the hands of the wrong people, she had to admit that she was seriously considering the possibility that she could take the throne herself. Just imagine! Queen Kaori. It somehow seemed to fit.
Once she took out her opponent, she'd be one step closer to achieving the ultimate victory.

At Hedy's command, her Spielzeug became real before her. Ludwig was a gangly, tall, and black-skinned demon with long, sharp nails, fangs, and horns. pus-yellow eyes glanced about quickly and nervously as the spirit took in the sight of all the Youkai leering down at him.
"Ach! Was tun wir in der Dämon Welt?" he barked at Hedy.
"Quiet. We're fighting in a tournament. You want to go back to the gingerbread man?" Ludwig paused, and glared at her, mumbling to himself.
"Eines Tages werde ich dich töten, du Schlampe."
"What was that?" she hissed, striding toward him.
"Nichts, nichts ..." The referee ran out into the battlefield blowing his whistle, and motioning for the contenders to make some space.
"Contestants ready? Fight!"

Ludwig lunged for the Shinigami with a snarl, claws slashing the air.
"Eine Seele Schnitter! Ich hasse Seele Schnitter!"

Kaori drew her hidden blade and deftly blocked the attack with the handle. In the next instant, she struck at the Spielzeug with her blade, aiming for the torso. She followed up with a stab to the chest.

Ludwig hissed painfully as the first blow connected, but he stopped the second with his bare hand. He gave a roar and a string of German expletives, and created a vortex of ash and soot, filling the air with the smell of something burnt.

Kaori was thrown to the ground some several feet away. With a grunt, she pushed herself back to her feet. She looked down at her kimono in disgust; the soot from the attack had left it grey and faded.
"You b*****d..." she hissed. "You'll pay for that! Snap to it, Hayate!"
With a bright light, Kaori's sword lengthened and became a bladed whip. She swung it in a circular motion once and then attacked, snapping it at Ludwig's arm.

Ludwig growled and caught the bladed whip around his forearm.
"Was, wenn ich einrasten den Hals, statt?" he roared as he yanked on the chain-like zanpakuto, pulling the Shinigame toward him. He extended a claw and prepared a burst of dark flames.

Kaori stumbled forward as the Spielzeug yanked on her weapon. He raised his hand, preparing to strike with fire. At the last moment, she once again used her umbrella handle to slap aside his hand. The blast missed her by mere inches.
"あら？どこに狙っているのかしら？" she smirked. With a quick, strong tug she tightened the whip, cutting the Spielzeug's arm off.
Finally free of her enemies grip, she jumped back and swung her whip once more, intending to catch him around the neck.

Ludwig's flames roared past the Shinigami, and threatened to consume the Bount herself. Hedy gave a growl and moved to leap out of the way, but her skirt and heels made that difficult. She hit the ground hard, cursing in German and English both.
"Idiot! Ludwig, return. We'll fight together, then." The Spielzeug condensed itself, not into a gingerbread man, but a long devil's pitchfork. Three wicked blades protruded from one end, and one even more wicked blade jutted from the other.
"Let's end this, Shinigami!" Hedy's hairband and glasses had been burned off during her Spielzeug's failed attack. Her raven hair blew wildly in the hot winds she generated by spinning her weapon. She ripped a pair of splits into her medium-length skirt, and kicked the high-heels to the side. As fire filled her eyes, Hedy launched herself forward, bringing the trident down hard upon her opponent.

Kaori spun gracefully to the side, avoiding the attack. With a flourish and a quick flick of her wrist, she snapped the end of her whip at Hedy, intending to catch her with the sharp blade at the tip.
