Salem's eyes went wide as he felt Cyrus' initial ladder strike sink into the muscles of his back, bruising bones and reddening his flesh to a similar shade as his face, still hanging upside-down by the briefcase. But over the sound of his own painful cry, Salem heard another sound - a subtle, metallic creak that came from the handle of the briefcase.
Though the cable and harness were both sturdy, never before had the structural integrity of the thin pins that secured the prized portfolio's handgrip been tested to this extent. Salem's full 225 lbs. had been bearing down on the brief for some time, and the swinging, pulling, dropping, jerking, and smacking he'd endured thus far was taking its toll on both Salem and the suitcase.
Desperately clinging to the handle and clasp, the brave rookie tucked his head towards the case and didn't bother to defend himself from further harm - actually, he was hoping the assault would continue and finally cause the rods in the grip to fail, breaking it free and allowing Salem to fall with the title shot in-tow while he struggled to leverage it loose.

Ryan had enough of Salem surviving high above the ring. Since Salme could not protect himself, Ryan picked up and ladder and chucked it like a spear to the head of Salem. No man could stay hanging after a shot like that, but Ryan was watching closely as he was ready to climb up a ladder after the ladder throw.

The crowd was captivated as Salem hung desperately from the briefcase, his perilous dangle above the ring having felt like hours to the eager eyes of the spectating crowd. The rookie's face was becoming thick with crimson, blood having run to his head from being inverted the last several minutes. But regardless, Salem continued trying to force the briefcase down, digging his head into the side while trying to tear handle from case with the leverage of his upper and lower bodies working against one another.
Then, like a javelin of steel, the ladder Ryan threw flew up towards the sky and struck Salem square in the skull, the impact momentarily causing Salem's eyes to roll back. But, Ryan hadn't bothered to think what the force of his throw would do, the strength of his strike having carried over into the briefcase as Salem's head was wedged right against it. His body starting to go limp, the handle finally caved under the stress and force applied to it, snapping at one side and causing the Next-Generation Sensation to plummet helplessly towards the mat.
He could feel the ground rushing to meet him, the wind sweeping across his skin as he fell, barely conscious enough to keep his grip on the case as he fell from grace. Still, it didn't take much brainpower for him to realize he was in for a rough landing and likely a rude awakening as the sickening thud of Salem's frame smacking canvas echoed through the arena.

Ryan was frustrated about how he barely got to be involved in this match before it was stolen away. He wanted to cut Salem's celebration short by grabbing another ladder and attempting to drive it down on Salem's ankle.

Salem Croft Salem's mind was numb, lost in a sea of blackness from the bone-rattling fall that had drawn cheers from the crowd, many of them caught up in the moment to realize they were supporting a man who'd drawn their ire as of late. Not even their enthusiastic shouts could reach the wounded rookie in his present state, the noise simply a dull roar that felt more like a blood rush from his stabilizing circulation.
The briefcase was in his wrapped-up forearms, he'd managed to endure the gauntlet and come out victorious, but the worst was yet to come as the enraged Ryan drew forth a chair and stabbed it into the lad's ankles. A lightning bolt of pain shot up Salem's spine, causing the Charismatic Calamity to flop a moment from the shock. Gasping in surprised anguish, he held tight to the case while his assailant began the assault. Ryan was going to go for another strike, but shook his head. He tossed the ladder aside, obviously frustrated. He stood over Salem looking down at him with a pissed off look. He ripped the briefcase from the clutches of Salem and looked at it.
He looked back down at Salem and dropped the briefcase back onto Salem's chest.
"Congratulations Mr. Money in the Bank. You get your title shot whenever you want to. Unlike me, where I am going to work my way up. I'm the best there is here and I will definitely become the Undisputed Champion here very soon. You enjoy this because when all the idiotic bastards back there that run this company decide it's your time to cash this in and push you to represent this company ,and be in every main event, you better be ready because you will be cashing in on me. And I will damn sure be ready for a weak and and unintelligent son of a b***h like you....."
Ryan tapped the briefcase one more time as he exited the ring with a pissed expression. Some fans booed, while others remained silent. Ryan walked up the ramp backwards staring back down at Salem as he headed to the back. He soaked up the boos as he stood on the top of the stage extending his arms.
