It took a great deal of self control for Bast to bite her tongue at Taka's response, but she managed. Regardless of how much she respected or owed the foreign leader for their help in this encounter with the Shukaku, it really rubbed her the wrong way to be told to do or not to do something about an issue that would likely happen in the Sand's territory without any real consequences for the foreign party, aside from some demonic consequences that she may not know about. On top of that, if she were to look at the demons from the perspective of their being tools, weapons, batteries, whatever, that proposition was essentially the Leaf saying they'd take away some of the Sand's assets and she shouldn't interfere. She completely understood not wanting to lose more people, but she was also completely certain that if someone intervened from the outside to kill Shukaku or Choumei, she would immediately respond in kind.
Then again, she was also notoriously stubborn when it came to these things.
"Alright, you two," Bast said to Zhi and Tetsuhiko, "since your third squad member doesn't seem to be around at the moment, what do you consider your strengths and weaknesses, and what are actually your strengths and weaknesses? __ Hikaru appeared softly beside Tetsuhiko as Bast spoke up. His disappearance and reappearance were personal, but now that he was back he decided to listen as the lady explained how each of them should evaluate their strength and their weaknesses. Hikaru wasn't sure exactly what she meant, but he did have some ideas. Figuring that Tetsuhiko and Zhi already explained quite a bit about themselves, he figured he should go first. "Well, I'm a medical ninja. so I can't guarantee that I'll be of any use in the front line." He said as paper materialized and swarmed around him. Hundred of blank pieces materialized as they all took the form of miniature horses. "But, I'm smart enough with my paper in order to get some attacks down." He said, a little cocky.
The dash to completion and tying up loose ends to finish off the demon unfolded faster than she would want to comprehend. Sadayo had grown tense at the sight of the giant snake summoned by Lady Ayame. The girl was relieved, though, to see her leader had recovered. At the end of it all, the demon was torn from this plain and her instructor had the lady Ice conjurer cradled in his arms. Somber strings tugging at her heart hinted to Sadayo that something considerable momentous and painful had taken place to lead up to this moment. It was difficult to pull it all into perspective, as she wasn't worn by battle and its plagues, but from her observation there was likely a great deal of anguish among the seasoned soldiers. Sadayo heard the chiming of the exorcist's shakujo, which wedged her attention from the scene before her, and briefly watched the floating girl take her leave. Moving on was a girl who claims to be versed in the knowledge of spirits and, perhaps, demons and her choice to leave must be sound. Then, that must mean there isn't much that could be done by either of them for now. Allow the party to grieve. Except her student. Tetsuhiko has so far proven to her that he's little in the means of being able to listen. Sadayo sneered at thought of being in his presence with his exuberance flashing itself to rival the seasoned party's anguish. Her disgust was expressed through the Hohoemi puppet's arm smashing down a metal rod to bring an end, if not already caused by the giant snake, to her jutsu. The puppeteer wordlessly guided her doll to collect and carry her three metal forks. Moreover, it appeared her superiors had a handle on the situation of dealing with the zestful puppeteer. Zestful. Puppet. Iron. Bloodlines The voice in her head snarled as she dismissed the samurai puppet, guided the frowning Hohoemi to float behind her, and made her own exit. Poised.

Nari seemed to go back to his normal self and Sonyo couldn't even begin to express how relieved that made her; throughout the event it was like she was staring at a grief stricken stranger. She kissed him back and it took her a second to get her bearings when he helped her to her feet. To be honest, Taka's improvized wedding shot a hole through her wedding plans but she couldn't help to admit that she was relieved. The wedding planning was exhausting, and now they didn't even have to do it. She felt a pang of sadness through her as she remembered Theo, and how he wasn't here. She had imagined him standing next to Nari, one of his groomsmen; but he was still missing, and probably never coming back. The female closed her eyes for a second, pushing back the sad thoughts for now. She suddenly became aware, despite the fact most of them were leaving, how many people were surrounding her. Before it would have mad her happy but now... something inside her shrunk and she felt the need to run the hell away.

Shukaku and I might be complete opposites, but I am strong, and I will not let him win. Even if that means that I have to go to extremes." There was determination in her eyes, she meant what she said. If the day came that she might lose control of the Shukaku, she wouldn't let this happen again. Too many times had she seen the Tailed beasts ruin her village, her home, her people; she would end herself before she ever let that happen again. With another bow, and a halfhearted smile sent in Nari's direction, she made after Kya. She knew that Nari would have heard his vow, and she didn't want to stay to see his reaction; it wasn't every day you hear your wife swear to off herself if she lost control.
Sonyo stopped the konoha woman with a gentle hand on her shoulder, trying her best not to startle her or put her on the offensive. "Hey, you're injured. All was fine with Susano'o as she was getting her leg treated by James. Her eyes closed as she was resting peacefully until she heard the new host speak to the leaf shinobi. Everyone was so huddled up together that it was difficult not to ease drop on their conversation. Taking in a deep breath she sighed and her blood ran cold after the host had said something to the leaf shinobi. She blinked a few times as her mood changed drastically and began to run the sentence over and over within her head. The brand on her arm was practically burning at this point and time as she ran the sentence through her head one more time. 'It was a symbol of Jashin, right?' Her body was practically shaking as the rage began to pour out of her. Jumping to her feet she grabbed the broken katana handle and used two of her hatake techniques. One to create a faux blade of raiton and the second was a version of the chidori technique. The blade was chirping furiously as she stood there for a moment.
Her eyes full of a mixture of emotions as she stared at the woman the host was talking to. But currently... the one that stood out the most was a mixture of sorrow and pure unyielding rage for the suspected Jashinist. Only one fact saved the area from this becoming another brawl. The leaf came here to help the village out. Against every pure and primal emotion within her soul telling her to slaughter this woman.... She'd avoid it for now as they did help out the Kazekage. Growling she threw the katana down upon the ground ending the jutsu. Doing an immediate about face she quickly moved to the exit as she had to get out of the area for the time being.

Words exchanged behind her barely were blips on her radar as Kya hobbled towards an exit. She heard the words, sure, but she processed nothing more than voices and proximity. The girl would kill herself before she allowed her new passenger drive her nuts, which Kya bothered a thought on. Was it not symptomatic of a mounting insanity to end ones own life in a situation such as this? Was it not positive proof that the demon had claimed her? Hmm. Far he it from Kya to judge. She didn't have her life cruelly and very particularly ********. She hadn't had her husband's life also inexplicably ruined by extension, and that brought another thought to the storm. Kya had little experience with marriage. Her father and mother were such an odd pairing that the priests asserted that two jashinists maintaining a relationship not solely centered on mutual love of death was a miracle. It was simply inconceivable. Now, as fast as those thoughts came in and brought her moments of mental pauses she was no longer strictly concerned.

A hand on her shoulder interrupted her somewhat impressively fatalistic songwriting. It was her, touching her with the hand not tied to her significant other. The least she could do was rest. Not heal the idiot who walked into the storm. Her expression was one of both concern and, confusingly, apathy. "Far be it from me to try and argue with a medic. And I'd also rather not deny a newlywed. Congratulations. And I think I'm sorry. I'm also sorry if that was crass. My... body hurts." The girl took the aid in sitting on a smooth rock, likely from the sandstorm. An arm pulled the blade from her back and sat the long weapon along her lap. The woman spoke again, piquing her interest. A smirk played on her lips. "Keen eye. It was indeed a byproduct of the skill I used to increase the strength against the somewhat meretricious barrage that... everyone contributed to." Kya would close her eyes when the healing began hoping not to get a knife in the back. If any relaxation could have come it would be interrupted when the girl and her white lightning stood. Kya turned her head towards her, her expression one of indecority. The young jashinists didn't have a hint of fear in her posture. She didn't even have the slightest bit of jarring surprise. Her body language remained undisturbed. In a weird way she felt a rush of calm. She shifted in her seat, adjusting her blade so that it sat in her opposite side. She elected to get more comfortable. The angry woman's chakra raged but Kya was calm. Tension in those seconds became heavy.
Kya raised an eyebrow. Her eyes locked onto the woman and regarded her the way one would a puppy. Likely to the ire of everybody present Kya... smiled. She watched the girl leave before turning back to look in the direction of the reason she was at peace. Taka. She shrugged and the. Spoke to Sonyo. "And that would be why I keep my choice of worship to myself. Lots of negativity rightfully surrounds Jahinism. But, as is evident, I don't care." Whoever the girl was, Kya had her marked.

Taka's tail flicked behind her. The se of emotion s that was this location, overpowering her senses slightly. She could taste bastions barely subdued outrage at her words and sighed. "Yeah political favor isn't a strong suit of mine. Rest assured bastion I want no hostilities between wind and fire. (I don't have enough people to have a good war arc so ehhhhhhh). "She looked at sonyo thoughtfully as she spoke. "Ohho! Looks like I might not have to anyway. She's got spirit" she said, her voice dragging excitment to the forefront of visible emotion. She offered a small bow to the girl before her attention was drawn to kya
A sadistic glee was wafting off the woman and her gaze directed at the one storming off with the nice curves and spandex. Her tail lazily moved to one side and bumped kyas leg, and involuntary movement. Emotions were high, tensions were higher. Probably a good time to return to konoha. "Kya, gather the troops that we brought and return home. I'll be staying for a brief time to confirm a few thi by then be along." She said, walking toward the girl that left in a huff . __ Oh... so that was what he was trying to do back then in their match? Boy... she dodged a bullet there. It was doubtful she'd be so lucky in their rematch though. Then again, her recent training had given her the skills needed to overwhelm enemies who specialized in genjutsu and long-range ninjutsu. Zhi just smirked with a tinge of pride and replied to the last question about her abilities, "Kekkei genkai." Zhi quickly snapped her attention back to Bastet while sensing the timely approach of the last member of their desired team arrive just in time. Hiraku's input about being a medical ninja definitely confirmed what she remembered him doing back at the dojo after that battle royale, and his show of that origami jutsu just added to it even if it weren't specifically mentioned. "Hmmnn..."
Lady Bastet had given her a deeper tidbit to consider. How Hiraku could respond so simply was both confusing and inspiring. Zhi rubbed her chin in thought while trying to not over-complicate her answer, "I'm fast and a really really good sensor- we're just talking about skills, right?" Somehow, she wondered if this question was layered. Continuing anyway, Zhi added, "I can kinda fight at any distance from an opponent too. If things get too dicey I could help give us a chance to escape... somehow." It was the second part of that question that was really getting Zhi, though. She mumbled reiteration, "My actual strengths and weaknesses..." Mama always warned her that just becoming strong as a ninja wasn't enough to survive this lifestyle, but she never even hinted at what else was needed. Maybe Bastet meant for her to also figure this out? Zhi lowered her hands to her side and felt an inner spark for the last part of her answer, "Lady Bastet! I also care about my friends and the people of Sunagakure. I might be a little hasty- okay, really hasty. BUT! I am trying to learn better self control so that I don't burden my comrades when the moment comes that they really need me." She'd bow deeply toward her idol after expressing this heartfelt belief, hoping that it was a satisfactory retort overall.
__ Tetsuhiko was incredibly intrigued by the interaction between Bast-sensei and Lady Hokage. He could not help his ears from pricking up as he listened to them. The concept of war between Konohagakure and Sunagakure was puzzling to him. "Aren't our villages allied? Even if the Leaf wanted to attack would they even survive? Would it be successful? Seems unlikely." These thoughts came into his head as if to quell his own anxiety about current events. These political decisions were so goliathan and out of his control. His admiration for Bast increased further because of her incredible influence domestically and internationally. Although if he were in his teacher's position he would likely have a more diplomatic tone. To him, the importance of shaking with the right hand was of higher priority than holding a rock in his left. Force and isolationism appeared to Tetsuhiko to be a contingency. A lifetime of living in a noble clan tends to teach these lessons no matter how little Tetsuhiko listened.
When Lady Bastet asked him for personal information his face lit up. The ability to talk about his glorious self was always an exciting event. He heard Zhi and Hikaru's reply without truly listening as he thought more about himself. "Strengths, weaknesses, strengths, weaknesses." He carefully considered his response while Hikaru completed his concise retort. When the enthusiastic Zhi finished he would respond with even more enthusiasm. Tetsuhiko side stepped in front of Zhi in order to block sensei's view of her. "Weeeeelll, my strength is...ART, LOVE, BEAUTY, ROMANCE, COMEDY, TRAGEDY!" Tetsuhiko then suddenly broke out into dance as he tapped his feet on the sand rhythmically with no hesitation as if a snappy jazz number were playing in the background of what only he could hear. "My weakness is...UGLINESS!" Tetsuhiko then snapped back with the back of a hand on his forehead before rising again with flair.
With a flick of his lush hair he then responding with some more technical information. "I have noble blood which gave me magnetism, creativity which gave me puppetry, and talent which gave me jutsu performance. I'm a very strong long range fighter, good at ambushes, I can overwhelm opponents with ease by constantly adding new actors to the stage." These were just a few of his many talents. "Alas! Every great hero must have his tragic flaw and mine is...close combat." He then dramatically turned his head to the side and saw Hikaru again. "Oh my stars...you cannot be serious. I have to be on a squad with an explosive origami user? You, sir, make a mockery of art with your glorified pyrotechnics!" He then pointed at Hikaru with an anger that stemmed from his most recent battle. Tetsuhiko always detested exploding "art" in shinobi combat. Art is meant to last for eternity and inspire infinite future artists. This conviction was only strengthened now as he looked to Lady Bastet for consolation.
Ayame sighed as things unfolded around her, she had lost a dear friend, but the villagers were still alive and so were her genin and the rest of her shinobi. She found James treating Susano'o and her heart settled. She calmed even more when Daichi looked up at her from the ground. She patted Manda on the head and he gently lowered her to the ground. When she stepped from his head she turned and put her forehead to his. "Thank you Manda for all your help." The snake hissed and nuzzled her then poofed as she released the summon. As she heard Kyomei's words and saw her spit on the ground Ayame gave a small growl, but calmed herself as she knew the poor dear had been through enough. She would speak to her later. "Miss Kya, if you wish to return and sign a contract with the snakes you may. I'm certain they would enjoy a new summoner. A couple of them you'll have to convince especially Manda, but I will help. However, as you do not know what some have been through I would appreciate you not hurting my nin. I have nothing against your god but some here do because they have dealt with things you have no understanding of. Hurt them and I will not hesitate to hurt you." Before Taka could leave Ayame growled, "Taka I have been friends with you for a long time, but you will stay out of my village's affairs when it comes to the handling of the tailed beasts. You know why we lost so many last time? Because so many of my nin did not protect the village. You know why I put Shukaku inside of Sonyo? Because she isn't bloodthirsty. Knives, though I loved him was apt to kill. I have my reasons. Thank all of you, but kindly get out!" She said signalling to Daichi before removing herself from the situation. She needed to do something and it couldn't be done here. All of these tempers and d**k measuring contests were getting on her nerves. "Nari, bring Sonyo to my home I will be there shortly to speak to both of you."

The tension in the air set her blood on fire, heat blossomed in her chest and ran to every corner of her being. A sort of excitement rushed over her, but with a few breaths and a moment of meditation and blocking the tension out, she was able to return to her normal clamed self. Opening her eyes, Sonyo continued on healing Kya, letting out a soft breath, shadows dancing behind her hazel eyes. "People are quick to blame anyone who might have any connection to their hurt. I'm often looked at weird when I tell people I'm of the Evergreen faith, extremists of the same religion attacked this village not long ago and caused the Choumei Disaster. It's safe to say the Evergreen religion is looked down upon here as well, though I'm not sure why there's such hostility towards Jashanism. I might never know, it probably happened long before I came here. We are two different people, you and me, but I know Death well-- he has followed me throughout my entire life." Sonyo finished healing up a majority of Kya's wounds before standing once more, her eyes going from gentle to serious.
"I respect you, Kya. You went against your faith because you realized that it was what had to be done; there's strength in that. However this is still my village, and though I would like us to perhaps become comrades in the future, I have to disclaim that the second you harm anyone in my village you will find no mercy from me. These people, even the hot-headed idiot ones, welcomed me with open arms when anyone else would have killed me on sight for what I was." She offered a hand to the dark haired woman to help her up from her stone. "That being said, should you respect my villages and my wishes, should you ever need me I am here. It's not very often I find people as intelligent and thought-provoking as you; you remind me a lot of my old sensei."Theodin, a pang ran through her again. Granted the white haired hatake hybrid wasn't a Jashanist worshiper, and the very thought was probably insulting to his memory, something about this woman reminded her of him. Maybe it was how unapologetically she lived, perhaps it was the strength bubbling under the surface, perhaps it was something else.
Ayame's summons pulled a groan from Sonyo, who pouted a bit, revealing a bit of the person she was before all of this. "But Lady Kazekage I have people to-!" Before she could even finish the woman was gone, her massive wolf following her. Did she have to go? There was people for her to tend to! Sure James was back but he couldn't do this all on his own and... She found that she was still trying to make up for her mistake at the hospital, trying to create a net in life. Sonyo sighed, and gave Kya a deep and respectful bow. "In till we meet again, Shinigami." With that, Sonyo waved to Nari and made her exit, despite her wanting to stay to help.

With the sudden appearance of Hikaru and his eager offer of an answer to her question, Bast nodded sagely. Medics were useful in practically any lineup, and the additional dynamic of his paper would bring quite a bit of utility to the table that might not have been present otherwise. She heard Taka's response, but didn't offer one in return; she wanted to focus on the Genin for now.
"A ranged support fighter, then?" she asked Hikaru for confirmation while looking up at the swirling galaxy of horses. "We'll see how good you are during training. Oh, if it wasn't clear, I'm teaching you three." She stated the last part simply as she mulled over Zhi and Tetsuhiko's responses.
Zhi also seemed to be a support fighter at first glance, but considering her abilities, Bast wouldn't be surprised if she were a complete physical powerhouse who happened to also have sensory abilities; either way, she brought a decent amount of power, both in targeting and raw combat strength. Zhi's hastiness was fairly obvious to anyone who'd met her, but her recognition of that fact was a good starting point.
Tetsuhiko was, in contrast, oblivious. Too focused on art and overconfident for someone of his stature. His close combat needed work, evidently, but the real problem was his attitude; that would have to be changed, either by cutting him down to size or making him actually able to live up to his own hype.
"Alright," she said after determining a course of action, "I need to speak with Ayame and set up a training course. Our first order of business will be getting you three to Chuunin, at which point we'll have a bit more freedom in your training regimen. Get to know each other and take care of any other business you have now and meet me at the training grounds in the morning. I'm your teacher from now on, so treat me as such. Dismissed."
With a slight bow of her head toward her students, the woman turned and strolled off.

__ When the mention of Chunin came up Tetsuhiko's heart burst with excitement. Perhaps Bastet-sensei and Lady Ayame wanted to promote him soon for his valiant efforts in battle? With a smile he bowed respectfully before the heroine of Sunagakure and turned to his partners. "Looks like we're a team now! Hmmm, we need a name." Tetsuhiko thought for a moment with a finger tapping his chin. "I know, Team Renaissance! We're the generation of rebirth after all. Art has been reborn with moi, speed with Zhi, and..." He paused as he stared at Hikaru and carefully considered what he brought to the table with Team Renaissance. "Hikaru is the rebirth of medicine!" Tetsuhiko refused to acknowledge his origami techniques as any kind of real art.
The elegant young man did a spirited twirl as he stared into the sky and thought of the possibilities of his renaissance of shinobi art. "Oh no, I can't believe I almost forgot!" He screamed at himself mentally before he ceased his spinning. "Sorry friends, I have to run to the Suna Shopping Superdome puppet workshop. I'm working on a new puppet design, you're both free to join me if you want to see true art." With a smile and a nod he ran out of the arena and towards Sunagakure. He had art to create!

Taka's ears perked and flicked lightly with the admonishment on her way out of the arena. She was being hasty and these people were not her enemies nor combatitive. She kept her back turned and let out a slow breath as she walked through the sand. Plans changed from hunting to keeping peace, she lifted her hand in a solemn peaceful salute, arm bent at an upward right angle as her body disolve into mist, starting at her feet and working her way to her head. She would be back in konoha before a breath was taken. "Sorry for overstepping old friend. I'm so tired of losing people. See you at summit" would carry through the air as she was disolving.

All was fine with Susano'o as she was getting her leg treated by James. Her eyes closed as she was resting peacefully until she heard the new host speak to the leaf shinobi. Everyone was so huddled up together that it was difficult not to ease drop on their conversation. Taking in a deep breath she sighed and her blood ran cold after the host had said something to the leaf shinobi. She blinked a few times as her mood changed drastically and began to run the sentence over and over within her head. The brand on her arm was practically burning at this point and time as she ran the sentence through her head one more time. 'It was a symbol of Jashin, right?' Her body was practically shaking as the rage began to pour out of her. Jumping to her feet she grabbed the broken katana handle and used two of her hatake techniques. One to create a faux blade of raiton and the second was a version of the chidori technique. The blade was chirping furiously as she stood there for a moment.
