Zamistia was wondering how much more of the 'thread' they would be hit with, when she soon had her answer. Before she could have her dragon react, he got hit right in his chest and left forearm. She winced a little, knowing that would not please the dragon under her.

They really are trying to make sure they can cover us from head to tail, aren't they? And our riders too,Nanuth hissed. Ugh, that meant more places for him to itch until Misty could clean it off.

Roll 9

Zamistia wanted to avoid anymore of the 'thread' as she could, so her dragon wouldn't be as irritable. Though she knew he never would be mad at her, she knew this lesson was starting to get to him. So when she saw a patch of rope dyed green on their right side, she knew they had to avoid it. She worked in her mind the best place to get around it, once they jumped between and popped back in. Unfortunately, like before, she didn't notice there was another patch on their left. Not until her dragon growled and she felt it along his left arm and wing sail...again. She mentally groaned, that was not what she had wanted at all and she apologized to her brown once more.

You tried, Mine. Least it didn't color a new part of me, just means more scrubbing there,Nanuth reminded, trying to temper his anger. However, it was clear he was really not liking this, even though it wasn't her fault.

2. So focused on avoiding a rogue patch of green dyed rope to you right, and your thoughts focused on where you need to jump ahead when it comes to *between* to avoid it should the wind not work in your favor, both of you are blindsided and hit on the left! Thick messes slide down your dragon's arms and hit the wing-sail near his/her back. (+3)

Zamistia was feeling tired and she knew that Nanuth was too. He may have a lot of stamina, but she couldn't help but feel a little discouraged how much 'thread' hit them. Not to mention, she could feel how much that dye was making him itchy.

I think we must be almost done, Nanuth. So let's just keep it together a little longer. Maybe we will learn from today's mistakes,Misty thought to him. Just as that seemed to somewhat pacify the big brown, the wind decided it was not done with them. It caused some of the yarn to hit him square in the wingsail again, leaving some red dye.

Oh, this is so annoying!Nanuth hissed once more. He looked up to the skies, please let the assistants stop torturing them.

Not cool. With a sharp updraft, your dragon gets hit on the main wingsail and leaves a thick red stain in its place. (+2)

User ImageThey watched Ingonth's clutchmates bumble their way through this colorful exercise with matching expressions of unimpressed disbelief.

So, there's no way to win.

It appears not. If Thread fell this enthusiastically, there would be no dragons left.

Then what shall we do?

T'rin sighed very softly, thinking of the hours of cleaning he had in his future. We'll make it our own. You know I look good in everything.

As do I.

With a huff that scattered the dirt and pebbles at his feet, Ingonth shot skyward and darted into formation. They dodged yellow, green, orange, only to be smacked hard by a clump of bright red yarn.

There's going to be no recovering from that, Ingonth drawled.

Of all the colors... T'rin glared at the crimson splash on the top of the blue's wing, completely missing a smaller gathering of purple strands as they squooshed against his leg.

Sorry. That was me.

Following their initial misflaps, T'rin and Ingonth flew Thread-free for a decent stretch, at least until T'rin's thoughts began to wander. There were a few strong jaws and shapely thighs in there, because there always were, but mostly he was thinking about graduation. Where they would take their limited freedom once they had it.

Ingonth.

Yes?

When we—

T'rin winced as cold paint smacked into the back of his neck and trickled between shirt and skin. This is... foul.

But during that moments distraction, that second daydream, you missed the thread falling too far back for your dragon to see. Both of you get hit on the back and your dragon's tail. Oops. (+3)

The blue leveled off with only the faintest of new paint speckles, and for a little while, the pair did nothing more than catch their breath.

D'zrak and Bronze Slidrianth

They had already done amazingly well during real Threadfall.... Why, they hadn't even been really scored! The bronze rumbled contentedly as they leaped into the air, and D'zrak was feeling just as confident--only to try not to crack up when a rope suddenly tangled itself around Slidrianth's headknobs, causing the young dragon to reel in outrage and indignation.

Not a good start.

D'zrak and Bronze Slidrianth

Insulted mightily by his rider's amusement, Slidrianth swerved sharply to avoid another clump of 'thread'--and all but hissed his displeasure as more color splattered against his beautiful hide. This was awful.

D'zrak and Bronze Slidrianth

They had done so well before! This hardly seemed far! Slidrianth was gearing up for a mighty sulk, and D'zrak slapped his hand affectionately against the bronze's neck. We're practicing. It's fine.

We aren't practicing well. He groused, in return, hating how ridiculous he looked.

There! With D'zrak's direction, Slidrianth darted Between. It seemed to be neatly done--until another cold, wet rope splattered against the bronze. This was not improving his temper.

D'zrak and Bronze Slidrianth

This is stupid. Slidrianth seethed privately as he was hit yet again. This paint will never come off and I'll look ridiculous forever.

I mean, if this were real, we'd be dead, so you wouldn't have to worry.

There were times when Slidrianth thought about biting D'zrak. This was one of them.

More rope on his headknobs! D'zrak would have helped, if he could have reached... but since he couldn't, well, the rope trailed cheerfully through the air as they continued to fly.

D'zrak and Bronze Slidrianth

How was he supposed to be impressive when he looked like such a mess? What would others think, seeing him in such a state? Slidrianth fretted for a moment--only for D'zrak to yelp as they were both hit by a rope.

Sli!

The dragon didn't apologize, but he did try to focus.
