((OOC: The recent saga started on Page 64 and ended on Page 69 [so far]. Though it seems a new one has now started with Jack ... I'm outta' here guys!))

*Pierre stares at Jack, the coyote's words confirming some of what he suspected.* It is you. Why? You knew we were not all dead. The rumors go out, though few carrying such a tale survive long. Some by your hand, Jack. So why out us now? There is no favor to be granted to you, no exchange. *Pierre stands still, holding Jack's eyes.* Stalemate.

Jack glares at Pierre as the other accuses him of setting off the smoke alarms. His head cocks quizzically for a moment. Why?

That's what I asked you. Why, Jack?

I was not here. Who are you, really?

How is your back paw, Jack. Did your claw grow back?

Jack stops, blinks again. Only Pierre would know that. He shifts back to human form. The two beings exchange a look. Pierre nods towards the back door, and both men go out. They head towards the lake and disappear from view.

*waves goodbye to Jack, kind of sad* none of her business anyway, she just wanted to say thanks.

::Maune goes to the door of Chattys and glaces around as he takes his claw and pokes at the door and unlocks it and takes out some candles and lights them on the table as he goes in the back to take out the things he needs to make lunch::

::Maune picks up his cell and answers it. Uh-huh..Ok got it another time... no problem.. Maune puts the tools he took out away, then blows out the candles and slowly walks outside the door and relocks it and vanishes in the shadows::

*Pulls up to the Grill and parks his bike just outside the door. Looks the place over as he steps up to the counter.* Oh good! I'm just in time! Looks like a fresh supply of baked goods here today! I'll have a few of those molasses cookies to go. Thanks! *gets his bagged cookies and heads back out the door. He grabs one cookie and manages to somehow shove the whole thing in his mouth, then puts the rest in his saddle bag for later. Hops on his bike and takes off to do the rest of his rounds*
