The Battle for the Beast Within  (The dark green under the trees represents thick underbrush and is difficult terrain and provide partial cover. The clods of earth the size of one square are difficult terrain. The clods of earths bigger then one square require climb checks to move over and are blocking terrain that provide full cover. The craters areas from the blasts are difficult terrain. A swim check is required to move through the river. Valac charges to S56 and slashes him in the side with his full blade. His attack interrupts the the spellcaster's concentration causing the spell he was maintaining to fail. The mage grimaces in pain as he spits out. "You damn fools. Her power was never sealed away, she is unstable in this form. If she wakes up she could kill everyone."The soldiers give Cosrica a wide berth as they move around to reach the paladin. Revenge valiantly deflects some of their attacks he is brought low by two arcane bolts of radiant energy. (15 radiant damage total) Revenge crumbles to the ground. Yet as the Paladin's vision begins fade into darkness he sees something remarkable. Time almost seems to slow down as the dirt and stone that had bound Corsica for so long begins to crumble away from the scorpion girls numerous feet. With a wild yell shes charges at the two remaining mages sending bits of earth flying in her wake. The last thing Revenge sees is an Arain mage being thrust high in the air, clasped in one of Corsica's enormous pincers. The soldier's scream of pain lingers on the paladins ear as he succumbs to unconsciousness. The two soldiers on Kuori charge her but only manage to hit glancing blows. (2 damage) The soldiers surrounding the now unconscious dragon girl start jumping across the the river and begin to move towards Fumiyo! It looks like they plan to join the fray! One soldier falls unconscious in the spell slinging fight with Shi. Illya drinks the potion in her hand and her wound heal even further. (No longer bloodied) Illya then buries a crossbow bolt into S56 Ramona throws a fireball at S56 but he dodges the attack. (Ruin up!)

Twyla's eyes would widen at the mage's words, then she would smile.
"Unstable? Sounds fun!"
With a mischievous grin, she would dash forward alongside Valac. A strange blue light would swirl around her blade and ghostly shapes of legendary heroes would form around her, shadowing all her friends. She would glance for a second across the field, where Revenge's tattered form had finally stopped moving. Some of the subjects they'd come to help were also strewn across the ground. A force of Arians was jumping the river as she looked, seeking to stop what Twyla and her friends had been fighting and bleeding for. Even now she was flanked by death, by the ghosts of warriors long past.
Her eyes shifted back to the mage, a strange laughter in them.
"Don't worry so much; I'm not too scared of her killing everyone. Are our chances really that good even if she stays down? And, I mean, hey, after all... quite a few of us are already dead."
And as she struck at him, each spectral warrior struck with her.

You act against the best interest of our nation." But Ruin could see in his eyes his will was beginning to waiver. S53 remains unconscious and unable to hear while S56 seems unaffected. Twyla runs up and magically summons an army of ghostly heroes to stab at S56. Weather it was it was all an illusion or not it didn't seem to matter as Twyla runs the mage through with her sword. The dies mage slumps over on top of her and mutters. "Fool...now...no one...can stop her. Ying continues to squeeze S51 to death with her monstrous centipede body. Sylvia moves to Ying and hands her a potion Abby sees the soldiers approaching from behind and turns to face them. She shouts to the others. I'll defend our flank, get Fumiyo out of here. Abby then drags S54 with her as she moves towards the approaching soldiers. S51 Teleports free from Ying's grasp. He then pulls a horn from his robes and blows it. The sound must signifying something to the other soldiers for they all look in his direction. S54 breaks free from Abby's grasp and begins to run away, it seems they might be retreating. S53 finally wakes up and seems quite confused as to whats going on. Fumiyo begins to stir more and more until her yellow eyes pop open. Her form immediately becomes sheathed in smoke and begins to grow and distort. Within moments, the petite form of the wolf girl hand transformed into an enormous shadowy monster. With its numinous glowing red eyes the monster surveyed the battlefield before letting out a ghastly howl which sounded like several different beasts at once. The monster then disappeared and a large flash of smoke only to appear somewhere else on the battlefield. It let out another terrifying howl as it eyes the soldiers to the south east. The grass around the monster seemed to shrivel and blacken. While holding the struggling mage in her pincer, Corisca would look to Fumiyo in dismay. "s**t...she let the darkness take hold."Arthur simply stands in place staring at what Fumiyo had become. His mouth was agape. "What...What did they do to her?" Kuori up.

Kuori felt conflicted. The men she had been saving the grenade for had ran, she was about to switch to her bow when she saw Revenge go down. If it hadn't been for the warriors distracting her she would have been able to save him. Okay, grenade going into the warriors face and, "Holy ******** s**t what the hell is that!?" She ran ... no stumbled back and threw the grenade at the two soldiers. An utter waste of a great resource. She took out her bow and turned to help Corsica. Maybe they could kill the rest off in time to stabilize Revenge and the two of them could go help the others save Fumiyo.

Valac look concerned to what had just transpired but the Arian's weren't retreating and so they still needed to be dealt with. He charged around the northern side of the crater and swung at the Arian but missed.

S51 Dodges, Valac's clumsy attack. He looks closely at the Barbarian and grumbles. "Hmph, you look familiar somehow."Corisca's tail lashes forward and pierces the heart of the soldier in her pincer, killing him. she then (action point) turns to the other mage and claps him in both her pincers. She then pull her pincers in opposite directions ripping the soldier in half. With her tormentors finally dead she moves toward Kuori and shouts to her. Her voice has a ring of panic. "Revenge is down! I don't know how to help him! Ying is the one trained in healing magic. Do you think you cold help him? I have to stop Fumiyo before she hurts someone she dosn't mean to. She's not in her right state of mind when she is like this."The Arian soldiers begin to flee from the battlefield. Apparently the horn blown by the commander was the signal for retreat. The soldiers west of the river run south towards the road back to town while the soldiers on the rest to run north towards the portal. Seraphina and Dresden are left unattended. Ramona ignores the fleeing soldiers and flies down to Sylvia. "Quick ,give me some potions so I can help the others." Illya moves over to Sylvia as well. "Yes, we must help Seraphina and Dresden."(Ruin's turn is up, or if everyone agrees to let the soldiers flee unmolested I can end combat here and we can switch over to Rp.)

Looking around he found the gnome was the closest. "Twyla, can you give this to Ramona? It has two healing potions and pouch of woundstitch powder in it." He said quickly, as he passed his bag and took off running following the path Petra took. He told her to go, and if the Arian forces wanted a second place trophy, they would have to face off against him.
(...BUT, Just in case, if Fish wants to continue combat, as all blood thirsty bards would, xp )
Ruin would level his rod and fire a non-lethal bolt of force at S51. "I didn't say you could leave."

"But! She's so far away!" But she took the bag and sought Ramona out--but her eyes were drawn beyond her, to the smoking, shadowy form that once had been Fumiyo.
What was she? Twyla wanted to know. And could she be reasoned with? Or were they better off running like the Arians were?
She crept towards Ramona, skirting the pit of broken earth, but she was looking hard at the massive creature the whole time, trying to figure it out. "Miss Ramona," she finally shouted out, distractedly. "I have some goodies for you!!"

Revenge continues to not die. All of Twyla's understanding of the arcane did not prepare her understanding the magic swirling around the creature known as Fumiyo. One thing she could tell for sure though, there was an incredible amount of distributive necrotic energy swarming around the creature, sucking the life out of anything in reach. Any living creature standing next to Fumiyo was at risk of having is life sapped away by this foreboding aura. (Twyla can tell Fumiyo is surrounded by a damage doing aura.) Ying stares at Fumiyo, looking completely confused. "I...I don't understand. I've never seen her transform like that. It...it doesn't feel right something must be wrong. I-I going to go help Seraphina and the others." Ying scurries off and with her incredible speed she reaches the dragon girl crumpled on the ground. "W-what happen to Fumiyo? Did the soldiers do that to her? We have to help her but first we must heal the wounded." Sylvia pulls out two potions and hands one to Ramona. Abby looks unsure what to make of Fumiyo's form. With soldiers retreating she scans the battlefield for her husband. Upon seeing his crumpled form on the ground her heart seems to stops. At first she seems breathless, unable to mutter a sound, but slowly she finds her voice. "...no...oh, gods no...REVENGE!" Abby charges off across field towards her fallen husband, clearing the river in a single bound. Despite just being bloodied S51 Smirks at Ruin. "Like I need your permission traitor, until we meet again." S51 pulls out a potion from his robe and the other two surviving soldiers follow suit. They then drink the potions and disappear from sight. The three empty bottles clink to the ground with the now familiar phrase "Tristan's Tonics" emblazoned across the side. No longer being pinned by the soldier mages, Shi moves away from Fumiyo, obviously afraid of her in this form. Fumiyo lets out another terrifying howl and blinks out of existence, only to appear 100 feet closer to the soldiers on the bank. She then charges at them snatching one of them up into her demonic jaws. The soldier is instantly crushed to death, much to the horror of his comrades. Arthur continues to stair at Fumiyo before stammering out. "P-Petra! The soldiers are retreating in her direction, no doubt o get back to the portal. I have to make sure she is safe!."(Kuori up!)

Kuori nods to Corsica and says, "I will do what I can." She runs towards Revenge(RR16). On her way she fires some parting shots at S4 and S7.

Seeing that his allies were continuing the attack on the routing enemies Valac continued also not letting the red mist disappear. Moving up to the group retreating past him he swung at one before letting out an almighty roar.

Valac charges at one of the fleeing mages and slashes him across his back, while cutting those nearby in his demonic rage. Corscia runs across the field on her many legs shouting at wolf monster. "Fumiyo! You have to snap out of it. This isn't you! This isn't who you want to be!"The Arain soldiers continue to flee with the ones south running down the road out of sight. The soldiers next to Fumiyo flee into the forest leaving their wounded comrades behind. The body of unconscious soldier next to Fumiyo shrivels and blackens in the monsters Aura. The soldiers around Valac, though fleeing, are far from helpless and with the Barbarian now baring their path they spring into action. The Soldiers closest to Valac shift back then all of them launch their spells At Valac, hiting him for 24 damage (15 of which is Radiant.) Valac's feet are bound to the ground by earth, immobilizing him. The soldiers then move into the forest to get around the barbarian. Illya moves towards the bridge while Ramona flies directly towards Dresden. (Ruin up!)
