Robert Fratley
Dreamyard

The odds were looking worse with each moment. One of the other girl's Pokemon was missing, which added to the chaos. He couldn't just up and leave himself, it went against his personal honor to run from those in trouble. The Munna were not going to listen to reason. They were too bloodthirsty. Whether it was from the fact that they were trespassing on the Pokemon's habitat, or if it was over Robert's Lucario bashing up the Munna that was attacking the two girls, or a combination of the two, the fact was they were obviously not in the mood for talking.

"Alright, let's try this on for size. Beatrix, use Hypnosis! Garnet, use Attract!" Robert spoke to his two Pokemon. Trying to overpower the Munna was obviously an effort of futility, but if they could render some of the army helpless, they'd stand a greater chance of escaping, as they would have less to deal with.

Beatrix stood up and moved herself towards the front so as not to accidentally catch the others in the wide-range hypnosis attack. Garnet knelt down in front of the Gardevoir and gave an alluring wink, sending hearts to spiral forward with the hypnotic waves. The combined move looked like something out of a Pokemon Contest. With any luck, some of the Munna would go down and the males among them would start in-fighting.

Robby had entered the Gym like a god damn Boss. All eyes fell on the obese lad like he was some monster come to consume them. Because he was fat.

"H-hello," spoke the waiter at the door but Cress arrived before anymore could be said.

"Challenge accepted," Cress said.

And after all the silly formalities were done, they would end up in the arena, ready to battle.

Robby nodded, trying hard to hide his disappointment at not getting something just as dramatic as his own introduction had been. Instead, he maintained that look of intensity, while Bacon had one to perfectly mimic it all throughout the formalities.

And then they were in the arena, looks of intensity still there, facing down that blue monkey thing once more. They had no idea it wouldn't be the same one, and it was obvious that neither particularly noticed. "Burnin' Rush Through!" The tepig would begin his first strike with flame charge, going right at that dumb-lookin' monkey.

Robby bit into a chip.

Charging right on in!

Cress smiled softly and said, "isn't this just the same mistake as last time?" It was, only now the Tepig was aflame. Still, Cress had a fun way of dealing with it. Last time he dropped the Tepig with a combination technique, this time, however, he was going to put the Pokemon through the hoops.

"Water Gun," Cress ordered and Panpour complied, releasing the small blast of water from his mouth at the charging Tepig.

With how Cross had spoken to himself, Bacon had managed to get pretty far across the field. The pig pokemon was ready when he heard the command, and knew what was coming. Sorta. He knew "gun" probably meant range. This was exactly the sort of situation that the two had prepared for. For an entire five minutes.

The tepig dropped down, pushing itself down onto its stomach to pass under the watergun, compressing himself down in a baseball slide. At the last moment, he would put a foot down to add that last bit of momentum into his flame charge to hit this monkey in the face. Y'know, unless it dodged or something.

Robby bit into another chip, maintaining that intense gaze.

"Acro-

He never had to finish, the move was already in play. Tepig was charging forward, in the air, right for his face. Panpour was up in the air with Bacon stuck in mid motion. No balance to no balance, the victor of this was clearly going to be he who had the high ground.

Panpour, up in the air, twisting at such speed that his legs would come down to meet Bacon's head as they passed with the grace and agility of Acrobatics. Bacon's head would double as a platform as, assuming the move hit, Panpour would kick from it and twist himself again to hit(shoot at) the descending Bacon with a Water Gun.

"Now!" The pig pokemon would already be doing it, his one counter to this. He was spinning, in mid-air, mouth open where the back of the head was to be. And when that foot came down, to the center of it, the pig would bite down to catch the foot in his mouth, where his internal flames began charging an ember, and his spin would, hopefully, begin dragging the other outside of his groove so that the hydro-pump wouldn't hit. "No way! Not this time!"

Robby bit another chip.
PostPosted: Mon Jul 04, 2011 4:38 pm

"Throw," was Cress' command. Robby was talking too much and the ember hadn't been properly fired so the entire event was taking place over the course of seconds. Long enough for the simple two second counter.

Panpour, being twisted and lowered in descent, would twist himself so his hands would meet the ground and, pushing off the ground, he'd create the force and revolving motion to throw Bacon off of his foot and away, add on to that that Bacon didn't have the jaw strength to keep himself locked on(he can't learn bite or crunch), he'd likely be thrown away before he could fire Ember.

Which left Panpour to quickly push himself back to his feet to prepare to dodge any attacks from Bacon, assuming the other Pokemon intended to immediately attack.

Saden squinted as he tried to see through the dream mist. This was definately not the best place to train. Xavier showed similar difficulties, the purple fog hindering his sight as well. The fog had no effect on Flurry's vision, then again it might if he was actually awake. As a bird, Santa had better vision than the others, seeing through most of the fog. However, things were still pretty blurry. Santa soon found a mysterious hole in the floor that seemed to have bee dug by a pokemon. She began to gesture at it for her trainer to see, "Deli Deli!"

Saden headed for the direction of Santa's voice, Xavier and Flurry following behind. However Saden took one step too far and eneded up falling down the hole that Spike had dug for Takamaru. Santa facepalmed and grabbed Flurry before jumping down the hole, Xavier following behind her. The group would find much less fog in this underground area, allowing them to see properly. However, when they opened their eyes, they would see a horde of Munna attacking them and, further away, another group of trainers, "Well I guess we came here to train. Show them what you got! Flurry, use a massive surf. Santa use blizzard, on both the Munna and the wave. Xavier, use brick break!"

The three pokemon nodded, ready to pull off their combination move. Flurry began to surf, creating a giant wave. He rode the wave as it began to freze from Santa's blizzard attack. The snowstorm would hopefully to hit a few Munna as well. Flurry quickly rolled off the frozen wave as Xavier approached. He pounded his fist into the frozen wave. If it could break bricks, it could certainly break ice. The wave shattered into many pieces. The shards of ice fell down, which may impale any Munna unfortunate enough to fall in their path.

Bacon was caught off-guard by the attack, and was thrown only moments before he could get that ember off. The ember was fired inaccurately at the panpour, and the pig would land off-balance moments later, skidding as his feet tried to catch the ground.

"Rush!" Burning rush activated, slower this time, but the look of intensity was gone. This thing was too strong.

((I really wanted to do this BEFORE we needlessly got a giant ******** group in one place. ._.))

Negotiations were out the window. Human nature proved true to the Munna, they did what any sensible herd would do.

They blasted back, the attacks of function lost in the attacks of power. That is to save, Xavier threw himself in the line of fire of the Hypnosis while the Attract was visually lost in the sea of ice, which was blown to pieces by a Psywave, leaving everything back at a stalemate.

Melty was ecstatic about the whole thing.

[Alright, let's do this!] he said as he fired off the Nightshade at the group. The other attacks may have failed, but so be it! It was fighting time!

And that's when Henrietta saw it for the second time. A man clad in armor. Nightshade was a move that manifested the fears of the target, these people hated humans and this man had shown up twice.

Which meant that they feared the man, he must be attacking them!

Henrietta was already sprinting across the field, burst of adrenaline speeding her clear across the way and she twisted around as she got ahead of the attack, raising her bandaged arms up to take the Nightshade with a wince of pain.

And then she stood there in the aftermath, both Melty and the Munna stunned. She'd jumped in the way...

To save the enemy!?

"Y...you're afraid of the man in armor...." Henrietta turned to look at the Munna, the bandages on her arms soaking through with freshly reopened wounds.

"Munna..." said one quietly.

"P-please, we aren't here to hurt you," she said. Well, she couldn't speak for Saden or Takamaru, but surely the others. She looked back at them, herself literally a foot from the army. If they attacked now she was dead, it didn't matter how heroicly anyone would try to save her.

Which meant all she had now were words. Words and action.

A tap of the button recalled Melty and she held her arms up. "Please," she said as she looked at the crowd before her, like staring down the barrel of a gun, "I know you can't trust us to leave, so I'll trade you."

A bold offer formed on the tip of her tongue. There was no other way, was there? She could beg for departure, but hate would still grow in the hearts of these creatures. She said, "I'll take care of the man in armor for you. So please, let us stop fighting."

BOLD! boomed a new voice in the heads of everyone around. To the front came a Musharna, the proud leader of the Dreamyard. Bold, human, but how do we believe something so rotten as your kind.

Of course there was a way. When you made a deal you had to give something to show in place of trust. With houses you put a down payment on the place, with drinking you gave your keys to the bartender, Henrietta would take Darumi's ball and offer it to the Musharna.

"I will defeat the man in armor and then I'll come back for Darumi," she said.

And Musharna laughed. You'll come back for your pet? Like I'd believe you-

"Then take whatever you want from me. But I will defeat him and I will come back for it," she said. Determination in her eyes. It wasn't often that the timid girl like Henrietta liked putting herself at the center of a stage, no, rather, it was simply her disdain for attention that lead to her timid nature. She didn't know how to handle people, but this, this was different. This was saving people. She couldn't fly off the handle like the others and start a war, and she couldn't stand around timidly waiting to die.

Chili had talked of passion. This was her heart showing all it had, because that's what needed to be done and no one else was doing it.

Fine. You may pass, but these humans here, unless they have something they can off of their own, they will remain, the Musharna said and the crowd began to part, to give Henrietta room to go.

But should they break out trust, Henrietta stopped and turned to face the elder, we will crush your friend here without hesitation. Any more hostility will lead to that.

Henrietta nodded and gulped. Darumi's life now rested on the ability of everyone else to remain calm and not attack the giant herd of Munna. Henrietta started on her way, the small army closing behind her, Musharna turning to them, no intention of letting them escape, but for the moment he had no intent to attack or command such.

And silence fell on the battlefield.

***

Topside of the Dreamyard where David was came the cry of a Munna as a metal-clad boot kicked into its gut. A laugh from one Plasma grunt and a cheer from another.

"Ah man, this is hard work," said the male and the female sighed and shrugged.

"I'm gonna go see how the others are doing," she said and she departed to below ground as the male resumed his assault on the creature.

***

An explosion from above caused the roof to collapse near Wayne and Salieri, as if it was meant to separate the two. You know, unless the both stood there dumbfounded, waiting to die.

"Jeeze Bill!" shouted one man as he jumped down the hole, though with the slant of debris it meant that he'd land on Wayne's side.

And from the other side of the room, Salieri's, came another man. "Must be buried, Chuck!" he shouted. Buried was true, in the center of that debris was a Munna crushed. Of course, they needed its dust.

Chuck looked at Wayne and Bill at Salieri and both said in unison, "what are you doing here?"

***

Henrietta was running down the hall now. Socant on her shoulder, cackling electricity, provided a small light. She hurried ahead until she reached a large room where several men sat around a Musharna, a group of Munna around it. Beaten, bloody.

Dead...

The Musharna breathed weakly and its one remaining eye fell on Henrietta, the other strewn across the floor, attached to the socket by a stringy piece of something.

The group of armor clads looked to Henrietta then. Two on each side of a pile of debris, and a leader sitting in the middle. Five in all.

"And who are you?" asked the leader in the middle, a larger man with a scar on his face. He smirked. "A wandering trainer? Say, would you mind parting with that Joltik on your shoulder?" he asked.

"Water Sport," came the order, the spray of water covering the entire arena, the effect of fire type moves lowered.

And Panpour would hold out both hands as Bacon came, grabbing the Tepig if he aimed to charge head on, pushing against the attack to slow it down.

And if this worked, he would release, by the order, water gun.

The flame charge was coming head-on. This bit seemed like a challenge to the tepig, start moving a different way, he had a different defense to break, with not as much certainty that he could. So he rushed, still slower than his original rush.

But how to get by the arms aiming to catch him? The tepig would near the point where the opponent would catch, and, as the "Sp" in "Spit!" came out, he would fire an ember at the panpour's face, to block its vision as he would once again duck lower, and aim the flame charge under the arms and for the legs. As an added measure, at this point, he would push himself to full speed, with hopes that it would help him avoid any acrobats aiming at the back of his head if the opponent dodged.

Robby bit into another chip.

Panpour twisted himself to the left, his body going sideways as he brought himself out of line of fire for both ember and flame charge, letting Bacon launch passed him at full speed.

No, not passed him, he released Water Gun at the side of Bacon as he went by.

Robert Fratley
Dreamyard

Robert looked over to Henrietta. It seemed after that second Nightshade attack, she was actually able to finally get the Munna to talk instead of fight. He heard a new voice, this one of what appeared to be an evolved form of the Munna. Robert released his sleeping Lucario down at his feet and thensat himself down, indian-style before pulling the sleeping girl upon his lap. "I will remain behind, here with the Munna. It was my Pokemon who attacked the one who attacked these two ladies, so I shall remain here as the bargaining chip. It is the honorable thing to do." Robert spoke as he brushed his fingers through Freya's headfur.

Beatrix and Garnet both sat down beside their master. While Garnet worried over the sleeping Freya, Beatrix still puzzled over why the Munna would be afraid of a human in armor when they nearly tore apart this group. While she wanted to go and help, she wanted to know more about what was going on not only about the situation they stumbled upon, but also why Robert was offering himself as a bargaining chip. Did he have that much trust in a complete stranger? If she was with her old trainer, he would have ditched her in exchange for his freedom, but Robert wasn't anything like her old trainer.
