There's a beast in every man and it stirs when you put a sword in his hand.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, they cling to the realm or the gods or love. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is.

Knives just nodded and went to look through the atlas for the last slot he could fill as he headed towards the shopping center.

The treo would appear in a plume of white smoke, and san would push the taijutsu kid to one part of the dojo while he summoned a human sized red panda, aioko, who took Theodin to the other side of the dojo.

"the next steps in Hsing-I is to learn a little counter attack, and a and then a deflection technqiue. Im going tp punch your stomach, and i want you to just hallow out enough so the punch misses, then smack me in the head...ok? after that, make a position as so...one hand blocking high the other blocking low, and twist your body to create a perfect block and deflection."

Aioko on the other side of the dojo would speak, looking at the fancy new gennin.

"Jing shen Jie Fang you so, interesting. we must see your basic cuts! make your hand and blade go rising, inward, outward, lower, and forward and back. You can only doing this after learning to stay constantly moving, and then use your limbs to defend...."

Theodin nodded to the large red panda and drew his sword from his hip. He stepped back with his left foot into a stance where his sword was in his front hand. Torquing his hips towards his right hand, he swung his sword at an upward angle towards an imaginary opponents head, then kept the momentum going as he turned his wrist over to bring another angled slice downwards near the thighs or knees. Again continuing the momentum of his blade, Theodin turned his blade over and brought a horizontal slash across his body from left to right, then flipped his wrist again to bring the blade back along roughly the same line. With his arm still where it ended from the last slash, the young genin twisted his arm around to get the tip of the blade facing forward and gave a solid forward thrust, then as he withdrew the blade, he took a quick C-step towards his back as he brought the blade across, slashing at an imaginary opponent behind him. "How was that? I tried not to waste any energy and keep the motion as fluid as I could..." he said, looking at the panda with a nervous smile and scratching the back of his head, he was kind of out of his element with the physical and weapons training.

"Let's do this!" Zel would use his great speeds to evade the sannin's most likely heavy handed right punch, then worked his way closer for his own strong right. With all the weapons training he's been under so far his arms have reached strength most untrained genin would never know, making for a devastating impact...for Zel that is, for he was punching high-grade iron sand . It took all of one second for the pain to set in, and his grin to turn into a grimace of pain. (1/1)

"Forgot you were the clone..." Zel wiped the blood on his pants, and for a short moment the fabric of his clothing seemed to 'bleed' into his arm before receding like the sand earlier just as he took his arm off his pants. (Katai Douka 2/13)

After a quick recovery he'd do as San instructed. One arm above, one arm below and then one quick twist to block and deflect any incoming blow. "Right, now for the tougher stuff" Zel grinned as he breezed through training. (1/1 Stage 2 mastered)

The san clone gave a great Smile as the kid found out the hard way what he was. To demonstrate the next set of techniques, san unleadehed his own furry utilizing a speed unknown to zel, but who would be superbly interested how he did it (custom development time...lol). With a fast round kick to zels leg, san would be soft, more like using his density and capabilities to simply move zel where he was needed. He aimed a quick elbow tap to zels head before dropping a vertical elbow to off balance the kid, and complete the throw. Using his knees and mechanical advantage, the sannin displayed a hovering ground and pound position for zel.

"You break the base and the tower falls, and hover over you kill like a proud raptor. You must strike heave, but be soft enough to not create space. Space is how I beat you.". San would get off him and help him to his feet.

Aioko on the other side of the dojo would speak, looking at the fancy new gennin.

"Your strikes where good, yes. But there must be ferocity, crushing the opponent from the first strike to the last. Thinking of that same idea, smother your enemy with your stance using circles and angles, (5posts). Its easiest to stand even and relaxed, both unarmed and with your blade. If you are unarmed learn to get your weapon in a flash...the weapon is your life! Think of using your strikes in combinations, aiming for multiple targets on the opponent, maybe even a quick quick kick to disrupt balance.""

Theodin noded as the red panda corrected his from on the cuts and gave the instructions for the bit of training. "Alright Aioko-sensei, I'll give it a shot." he said as he sheathed his sword.

Standing with his hands up near his jaw and his feet about equal, theodin stepped off at a 45 degree angle throwing a left-handed jab at head level as he C-stepped towards his back and quickly drew his sword, making a quick cut at what would be his opponents liver. He finished the combination with a quick side kick at knee level, imagining himself punching an enemy in the face, slicing its guts open with the sword then breaking the knee to cripple the enemy before going for the kill. (1/5)
With his sword still in his right hand,Theodin started off the next combination with a slash toward the thigh as he moved off at an angle. When he stopped moving, he brought his sword around and up and back down, cutting for his enemy's neck as if going for a decapitation. Visualizing his enemy ducking that cut, or dropping down from the first cut, he finished with a lower-chest level hook punch, deciding if he didn't hurt the opponent with the second cut he'd at least get a good punch in. (2/5)
Next the young genin imagined an opponents charging at him, bringing a sword cut towards his head. He ducked slightly as he moved towards the opponents sword arm, using his sword to deflect the imaginary blade passed his left shoulder.Once the sword was at a safe distance, he stepped towards the enemy's back and ht at throat level with his left forearm as he stepped around behind his imagined opponent, bringing his sword around to where the enemy's stomach would be. to finish the combo, he dragged his blade across the enemy's stomach, stepped back with his right foot slightly and imagined running the blade through the enemy's back. (3/5)
Feeling like he was starting to understand the principle better, theodin sheathed his sword, deciding to try a couple combinations unarmed. He thought of an opponent trying to stab him in the gut with a spear. He turned sideways as he slipped the side of the envisioned spear-tip, moving towards the opponents at a slight angle. He then cross-stepped in front of his foot and brought his leg up for a round house kick, making sure to really crank his hip over to get as much power as possible. Just as his kicking foot planted back on the ground, he launched a hook punch for the face, followed quickly by a ridge hand strike to the base of the skull. He finally used the impact of the ridge hand to wrap the opponent into a rear-necked choke, and quickly kicked where the knees would be to essentially hang the enemy from his arm. (4/5)
Getting tired, he imagined another opponent just bringing a hammer-fist at his head. He brushed the strike aside with his left hand as he moved into the opponent, ramming his shoulder into its chest. He then wrapped his right arm around the back of his neck and head, as if doing a headlock. The genin then through 3 quick knee strikes at what would be the enemy's gut or chest. Finally, he let go of the headlock to quickly bring a downward elbow strike to the back of the neck/ base of he skull, just as he brought another knee up into the enemy's throat. (5/5)

Tired, and breathing a little heavily, Theodin looked back at the large red panda and asked "I think I understand the principle, it'll still take a little getting used to though. Were those combinations alright, Aioko-sensei?"

But I already learned mah custom D;

Zel certainly wasn't ready for that. In the blink of an eye he went from standing up to lying on the sandy ground with San ready to pound him. "How did he...!" Zel's mind was half-focused on San's teaching of the techniques, the other was still in awe trying to comprehend how his sensei moved so fast. "Break the base, eh? Like this?!" Zel would try the first move on a training dummy, executing it cleanly. "And now for the kill" Zel quickly moved into position for the next technique, a ground and pound, then gave the dummy's head a quick punch before standing straight. "We'll be done with this and maybe even another style before we know it at this rate! Easy." (1/1 1/1)

Zel wouldn't notice it again ,but as he got up earlier sand once again 'merged' into his being. It stayed slightly longer this time before receding into nothingness. It also managed to consume nearly his whole arm. (3/13)

The clone gave a nod, and then once again burst into action. Shifting his hips the clone through a heavy side kick for zel's leg to disrupt his frame and balance. Rolling His hands for a quick parry of a possible defending limb of zel. The clone would through an uppercut with his lead hand for the chin of the student, but would not follow through. Using the uppercut to the attach to the shirt of zel, he would use chakra to enhance his deadthgrip and continually shift and move so zel could never keep his footing while keeping his other hand moving, showing the various strikes he could continue with.

"Unicorn charging an goring, using you leg as the single horn. Snake entrapping and striking, wrapping and controlling like a python but as quick and vicious as a viper. .

Aioko on the other side of the dojo would give a bow. Seemed the kid learned quickly.

"your combinations have improved, and now you must learn to be soft and attach. It is easy to block, but much more difficult to properly parry. Use your forearms and your blades to make a perfect barrier between you and opponent. Now, try to take my weapon from me. Use your stability, and maybe try holding two weapons ."

The next technique, Zel had to use his chakra to create a more powerful grip, then once he had his hand on whatever part of his foe he would push, shove, and shake him furiously to disturb his balance. From here Zel was to strike two, if possible three times anywhere he could land a hit. The last strike was almost always to the head, in an attempt to knock down his foe. (1/1)

Next, he had to do a quick and powerful side kick to the lower body of his dummy, acting as guard breaker. Then with his hands, he had to push or strike the guarding limb or weapon away. Finally when he had a clear shot he was to launch his enemy into a world of pain with an uppercut to the chin or neck. (1/1)

And for the last technique for the stage, Zel had to close the distance between the dummy and him. From there he was to land two strikes, then wrap themselves up around the enemy limb or neck to restrict blood flow to the area. It was a nice, very effective move at eliminating a threat without fatal injury, but it took way too long for Zel's liking. (1/1)

"Right, now for the fourth stage! It's on."

Theodin stood there, nodding as he took in and processed the instruction from Aioko in his head. He felt like he was understanding more easily as the training went on. Sheathing his sword once again, he took up the free spirit stance he’d learned earlier.

Visualizing an enemy attacking with a single sword strike to his head, theodin stepped towards the enemy, sliding his front leg between the legs of the enemy to tie up his stance, while using both hands to guide the attacking arm over his head, taking control of the arm at the wrist and attaching just above the elbow with his other forearm. He figured from that position he could easily break the enemy’s arm, strip the sword from its hand, or take its balance and drive it face first into the ground. (1/5)

Next the genin imagined an enemy stabbing at him with a spear. He side-stepped the tip at a slight angle, using his forearms to track the movement of the spear as he caught the front arm of the enemy at the wrist with his right hand and at the bicep with his left. He then gave the opponent a quick jerk in the direction it was headed as he C-stepped towards his own back and pulled the arm perpendicular to the enemy’s original trajectory, making him stumble in that direction. (2/5)

Theodin then visualized an opponent swinging his sword at his stomach from left to right. He stepped off at a 20 degree angle, moving inside the range of the blade as he used both hands to control the attacking arm at the wrist and bicep again. He quickly slipped his right foot/ leg around the attacker’s front leg and firmly planted his feet into the ground, allowing him to hyper extend the knee as he quickly pulled the sword arm he’d taken control of, throwing the opponent to the ground face-first. (3/5)

Imagining another enemy attacking with a sword, Theodin quickly drew his blade to parry the attack, guiding the blade down to the ground an inch or two from his foot, as he c-stepped towards his own back again, catching the opponent’s forearm with his free hand as he twisted the handle of his sword to hook the pommel of the enemy’s sword and planted his foot solidly in the line of the attacker’s foot, locking it up. He finished te combination by jerking the attacker in the direction it was headed, then stepping to the side to pull the opponent quickly in another direction as he ripped his sword hilt towards himself to disarm the enemy ad trip it over his leg. (4/5)

Finally, the young genin decided to take Aioko’s advice and try using two weapons, drawing a kunai from his pouch in lieu of a second sword since he only had one sword. He then visualized two attackers charging at him, one with a spear in front of him and one with a sword directly to his right. Theodin quickly side-stepped the spear to his left as he used his sword to keep it a distance. He then quickly threaded his sword arm between the arm and spear of the spearman, and hooked the neck of the spearman using the kunai as he c-stepped to pull the spearman around to serve as a meat-shield against the swordsman’s attack. He finished by stabbing the kunai into the spearman’s neck/ shoulder behind the clavicle as he shoved the quickly dying spearman at the swordsman before driving his sword into the attacker’s gut. (5/5)

Breathing heavy from the ferocity of the training, Theodin put the kunai back I his pouch and sheathed his sword, then turned to face aioko, “Was that good Aioko-sensei? I had to improvise the second weapon a little since I only have one sword for right now, but I’ll make sure to work that form more when I can get a second good weapon.”

The clone would speak and demonstrate more of the techniques, this time walking a good distance away from zel. He would probably like this one....

"You must learn to shift yourself explosevly in battle....like so!"

The clone would seem to shoot forward in an explosion of dense chakra, causing zel to get thrown off of his feet. pouncing on the kid again, the clone showed true speed with his punches, laying down almost 9 or 10 little finger taps on multiple parts of zels face in nearly an instant. forming some chakra, San would hit the students chest, and the chakra would resonate through him causing him to have blurred vision, loss of balance. it was a lessened dose, so he just got the idea. when he had his vision again, san would grab one of the dummies, and spike it on its head.

"Combative flow.....learn to be aware....there are always multiple attackers. But never leave an enemy capable of standing back up...less you get stabbed in the back."

Aioko on the other side of the dojo would give a bow. Seemed the kid learned quickly.

"Indeed, improvisation is the strongest of skills in the battlefield. Im sure you will learn that after my sage is done with you. Needless to say, Sanshi is like my brother....i practically grew up with him. There is a reason Kuminji lets me call him Uncle bear. When he teaches...its best you heed the lessons. Momma and papa have told me stories about what san has done, and when he needed to call upon them for help, that it was a seriosuly ******** up situation. The fact he is still here....is a testament to his skill and wisdom. but on to your lesson, little bear. Never stay still, and never leave a weapon unused. Your limbs are your weapons, and sometimes cosntant energy is just a way to smother and eliminate your target. Use your wrapping ability to hyper extend and break your enemies arm, taking a weapon both literally and figuratively out of the game. You can do the same by choking the enemy, and using a superior position to control the enemy so that they may never escape you...ever.....and when you kick them, follow through...and grind them from first strike to last. never let them back up...."

Listening to aioko’s story, Theodin was a little shocked at how powerful the bear claimed Sanshi was, he had always heard about San’s strength from his father, but damn! When he was done with his mini freak-out, he made a mental note not to piss of San, just in time to hear the instructions for his next round of training. When the large red panda was done explaining, Theodin nodded, “Makes sense, I’ll give it a shot, and see what I can do.”

Thinking of an enemy charging in and slashing at his stomach, Theodin moved in at a slight angle as he parried the sword arm with his forearm, wrapping his arm around the forearm of his enemy and placing his forearm underneath the elbow. As he did this, he hit the enemy with a palm strike to the sternum with his left hand, followed quickly by a roll-over back fist to the nose and elbow to the right temple. Then the genin quickly broke the enemy’s arm before threading his arm farther up the opponent to control the neck, after which he spun the enemy around a little to show he had control. He finished the combination by whipping the enemy into a rear naked choke and stomped the enemy’s knee out to drop it down, turning the choke into a hangman’s choke. (1/5) (1/3) (1/3) (1/3) (1/3) (1/3)

Next theodin imagines another enemy, this time unarmed, punching at his head. Theodin quickly ducked as he hit the arm with a back fist to the carpal tunnel, catching the wrist he followed with straight punch to the inner part of the left bicep and a quick round house kick to the right floating ribs. Theodin then threaded his arm up around the arm of the enemy, taking control of the neck to jerk him around a bit before stomping out the leg to incapacitate the enemy. (2/5) (2/3) (2/3) (2/3)

The young genin then visualized another unarmed opponent attacking him with a wild punch at the ribs. Theodin quickly deflected the punch with his forearm as he slid his own arm up, wrapping the enemy’s arm and grabbing the back of his neck. He pulled the tied up enemy around as he stomped out its knee, sending it face-first into the ground. Standing over his crippled opponent, Theodin continued to rain hell on the enemy’s neck and spine with two hard punches straight to the base of the skull, and finishing with a snapping kick to the side of the head. (3/5) (3/3) (3/3) (3/3)

The next combo, Theodin imagined an enemy swordsman slashing at his head. He moved inside the range of the sword arm, blocking with his left forearm as he wrapped his arm around that if his enemy, placing his forearm below the elbow. Holding this tied up position, he grabbed the opponent’s shirt with both hands and broke the enemy’s arm a he locked in a scissor choke, and took the enemy to the ground. (4/5) (2/3) (2/3)

Theodin imagines another two swordsmen attacking him, coming from each diagonal in front of him. Blocking the first one’s forearm with his own, theodin wrapped up that arm, trapping the enemy in an arm triangle and turning him into a meat-shield for the other enemy’s sword strike. Once the sword was stopped, theodin let go of the incapacitated enemy and kicked him into the other one as he circled around to wrap his arm around the sword arm of the second attacker, placing his forearm under the elbow. Once it was wrapped up tight, Theodin threw a hard right hook at the attacker’s left temple, using the twist from the punch to snap the trapped arm and disarm the enemy. (5/5) (3/3) (3/3)

Breathing heavily, Theodin turned towards Aioko, as he sat down and folded his legs to rest, he asked “How was that, Aioko-sensei?” He then had to put his hands up on top of his head to help catch his breath.

Zel could easily see, after of course being so quickly and violently assaulted by his teacher so he would learn the techniques faster, that learning the next set was going to take much, much longer than he had originally thought. It wasn't really because Zel couldn't understand how to do them, but more of Zel not having the capacity to give a damn about putting effort into doing it. Watching and experiencing what San just did was tiring, even if it was the bare minimum of what the techniques were supposed to do. "Come on Zel, you promised to at least give this a try, even if you were kinda forced to do so..." he tried encouraging himself, and it worked a little, but not enough to get him to start giving it his all. Well at least he was trying, right? Zel would position himself in front of his dummy and take a few deep breaths. He took a few five-minute breaks every breath cause apparently even that was tiring to a lazy a** like him. Even then, he was proficient enough at taijutsu that the first two techniques were performed as if effortless on his part. A good effect of having a teacher who knew what he was teaching, a proper training dummy and natural talent for martial arts. Zel would then try the next few, but of course not before yet another quick break. Next technique was a palm-strike with chakra. After making contact with it, Zel would have to vibrate his hand as he release the chakra inside his foe. Any foe struck by it would soon find themselves having blurry vision and muscle contraction for quite some time. Zel assumed fighting stance and did the move in one go. Then he'd move on to another chakra enhanced tech. "Almost done!" he cheered. The technique's name was Rushing Spirit, and obviously it involved speed. While normally Zel was pretty fast without chakra to aid him, and probably didn't need the move, he still gave it a try. It was easy enough, he just coated his body in a fair amount of chakra that would propel him forward with shunshin speeds. He stopped right in front of his dummy, which was sent flying off it's feet just a little bit from the released chakra coat on Zel. (Stage Four)

"Alright San-sensei, what's next?" Zel said as he picked up his training dummy.
