You could be the little pauper boy, if it wasn't for the scythe, now the little pauper boy who is really one of the hardest enemies in the game

You would be that powerful boss that talks to the Hero's party and isn't about to backdown from the final battle even though you know you may end up being defeated.

One of the main three characters that gets killed really early, then comes back somewhere in the middle and helps you out by taking out a group of strong enemies with one strike, but he never joins your party, you only see him during cut scenes. like Makoto from Enchanted Arms.

you would be one of those characters that suddenly dies in the game but then comes back much stronger and with a better looking and more powerful weapon.

the main character's best friend/ally/sidekick NPC who follows you around and somehow manages to always keep up with you on the tricky, obstacle-ridden levels and never manages to get killed--possibly a playable character in later installments. xd
