Victoria bit her lip. Something was missing for sure. She didn't know what, but it did. Sue was outside and Victoria had the oddest feeling. Did someone sneak in last night?! She made a small noise of worry as she rifled through the contents of her drawers. The chest of money was in there. She gave a soft sigh before rifling through the many coins and paper money she had saved up. Hmm...She had five extra gold coins? Where did that come from. Victoria got up from her plump seat, tapping her lips. Did someone buy something? But what?
Maybe if Victoria figured out what books were missing, she could get an idea about who it was. She went in search of the missing books but found nothing, there were just so many books and papers in there! She made a soft 'hmph' before crossing her arms. Fustrated, she tapped her boot against the floor boards. An inkling came into mind and shehurried into the back, searching for her book. She had always read it when she was bored. Yet, she could not find the title. She was once again puzzled. Had someone bought it?
Oh, yes. That was right, that man bought it. However, wasn't that all a dream. She groaned at the slight head ache and went back to her desk. She stared out the window long and hard, trying not to think about that dream. She found it difficult not to. Victoria could only remember bits and parts, some of which didn't make sense. Such as him coming into the shop, she giving the book, cobblestones, and then she was in the air. She remembered vaguely about the dream. So deep in thought, she was startled when Kaimei passed the window of her shop. She jumped in her seat, watching him past. Was it a dream? It had to be. Victoria stood, scrambling to reach the door on time. He was already a bit of a ways down the street when she popped out the door.
"Ho, there!" Victoria leaned out of the door, waving her hand to flag the man down. She wanted to ask if he saw anythign fishy or if he ever came into the store. She didn't know why since, for the most part, she had never spoken a word to him. But that inkling in her mind grew and grew. Victoria was a smart gal and she surely had an imaginative mind.
