Adrian summoned his needles back, reforming them into one spike as he quickly closed his wings to drop out of Amaya's reach. Once dropped far enough he spread his wings again and swooped and away from her as he guided his spike to go in for the attack.

Smith was up early, as was his habit, and up above the caverns. He loved the fighting, and was never out of the caverns more than fifteen minutes or so, so Avondale put up with his little eccentricity. Legs crossed, Smith looked out over the landscape as the sun rose. Seeing such an instrument of absolute destruction bringing gentle life to the world was always a little touching to Smith, reminding him that no matter how many people he killed there would always be more waiting around the next corner. Just waiting, alive and warm, courtesy of the billion-ton ball of flaming gas eight light-minutes away from the planet that gave it life. Smiling lightly at that, Smith went back inside the caverns and locked the door behind him. He wasn't scheduled at all today, though Avondale had hinted that he would be doubled at some point in the near future. That was always interesting. But, for today, he would sleep. A day of rest was rare for Smith, and he cherished it when it came by.

Orion sat in a dark corner of the stands, watching as the blood-Mon and shadow-Mon started fighting, noting weaknesses and fighting styles. The terrain was annoying, since she couldn't see everything, but for someone to actually rattle Smith into taunting them took a very believable threat or a very harsh rejection. It was obvious from the banter that both of them were too stable to do something so uncivilized as outright rudeness to Smith, so that left threats. Blood-boy obviously had the strength to back it up, if the match yesterday was anything to go by. Shadow-girl was probably best at hit-and-run tactics. Smith had dibs on her, but Orion was willing to bet that she could take her down pretty handily with a simple sit-and-wait strategy. It took no effort at all for her to resist most damage, diamond-hard skin and all, and against so strong an opponent she would likely need to pull out all the stops.

But, she reminded herself, Smith had dibs. She'd just have to settle for the blood-manipulator. Oh, she would so love the look on his face when he tried to suck the blood from her veins or perform whatever trick had killed that lizard-thing last night. It would fail so very utterly, and the look on an opponent's face when his so-called 'ultimate' technique didn't so much as scratch Orion's perfect skin gave her wonderful shivers.

She pulled her thoughts away from the eventual fight and back to the current spar. They were really quite creative, and were tiring each other out quite nicely. That was good. They wouldn't have the energy to attack her when she went down to apologize for Smith's behavior. People found it so hard to believe that Orion wasn't the sociopath that Smith was, just because they shared an owner. True, she was psychopathic and indiscriminately murderous, but she had excellent impulse-control and wasn't nearly the freak Smith was when dealing with other people. She'd happily skin someone alive with her fingernails during an Arena match, and had done so many, many times in the past, but just because someone was going to die at your hands eventually didn't mean you had to be rude to them in the interim.

Amaya continued running after him, the shadow following quickly underneath her, ready to catch the spike once more as she gained on Adrian. She was close now and she took the chance, jumping for him to take him out of the sky while the shadow jumped out from the ground and circled around her to shield her wherever the spike might try to hit.

Adrian leaned back as Amaya grew near, pulling a rather Matrix-esque dodge as he flipped back and kicked out at her in the process. His blood had lost the spike from and was starting to recollect around him in a small shield of his own against anything Amaya might try.

Orion leaned forward and rested her chin on her hands, lacing the fingers together to provide support without effort. The darkness in the corner still hid her, though with her new position a portion of the right side of her face was visible, part of her head and a good chunk of her face in the light. She didn't much care that she could be spotted at any moment, not while watching a match like this. It was simultaneously boring and stimulating, with the constant sense that both opponents knew each other's every move while still not knowing more than a split second ahead of time what the other would do. She and Smith shared such a sense, but that was because they had both been in the Arena for years, Smith since the very beginning and herself barely a month less. It had taken them most of that time before they were able to predict each other's patterns before they appeared, not the scant months that the blood-boy had been in the Arena. It could be just a matter of experience on the part of the shadow-woman, but Orion was inclined to believe that this was more a mental bond than anything else. They were reacting to each other's attacks too quickly for it to be one-sided, and too efficiently for it to be a rehearsal or routine exercise.

Orion would definitely be going down to talk to them after they finished up. They deserved to know - well, shadow-girl did - that Smith had his eyes set on the shadow-girl's. It was sweet that he brought a souvenir of every opponent he defeated, but Orion already had four eyeball-earring sets and unless this girl had green eyes they'd just go to waste.

And, because Shiva was honest with herself, she wanted to see how good this blood-boy was in the Arena. Sparring match, of course, but that would still give her a good idea of what he was like as a fighter.

Amaya took the kick and went back with it, landing on another pillar nearby as she stuck the landing and threw the shadow at him in an attempt to tie up his wings. However, Amaya didn't stay there, she jumped down and began dodging between the pillars again as she headed for Adrian.

"s**t!" Adrian yelped as he dropped out of the air once his wings were bound. He managed to land safely on the ground however and looked behind him, straining to spread his wings and break free to no avail. He scowled as he picked himself up and flattened himself against a pillar, not quite as used to fighting on the ground these days. He pulled some of his blood into a small blade, hoping to free his wings while the rest of it had split up again into a swarm of blades that chased after Amaya.

((Time for class; back in a few hours.))

Amaya continued running at him, letting the needles follow after her as she headed straight for Adrian. When she was about to crash into him, she spun around his side at the last second, turning and punching the pillar he was hiding behind. Cracking it, though the skin on her knuckles broke as blood sprayed on the crumbling rock.

Val had used the night to set up a few matches, and met a few of the other owners setting some deals as well. Returning back to the house to see Alex was fast asleep, her snake curled up beside him. A soft chuckle escaped her as she tucked the two in. Although she looked forward to training her own 'monster' till he passed out from sheer exhaustion thus upgrading his abilities, she had her soft side on occasion. Though, the more she looked at him sleeping the more she wanted to prank him. Perhaps with dye or a marker or even use an elaborate trap to where he would trigger a series of events before finally covered with six different things which would take hours to wash off. She chuckled once more, leaving the room as she went outside. From that time on she sat, watching the sky and its sights.

Watching the sunrise even, not even sleeping a wink. After hearing others begin to wake and do their morning routines, she then stood and went up to the stands. Spotting a girl she had not seen before watching the famous pair down below. Not recognizing her, nor caring of her, she simply sat a few feet away from her. Her own eyes upon the pair as well. Recognizing a few new moves as well from them as well.

(Class? Talk about different time zones xD)

((hate to nitpick, but Val would almost certainly recognize Shiva as an incredibly-regular combatant in the Arena. Avondale schedules her every day at least once, sometimes twice in one day, as opposed to what's been stated as several days to weeks between matches for other monsters. He pushes all his monsters this way, and as a result only Smith and Shiva have ever survived an appreciable amount of time in his care. Several years for both of them.))

Shiva noticed the 'master' that sat down near her, the Nevermore woman by appearances. She was a minor 'master' in the Arena, owning only the single Mon who rather pretentiously called himself Shades, a blade-Mon like herself (though without the diamond-skin to make them a perfect match.) He was closer to her own age than Adrian was, at least visually, but that probably meant that he wasn't as experienced with the use of his abilities. Blood-boy Adrian would almost certainly be a more interesting fight. And possibly a more interesting catch, though that was of course a secondary consideration.

((Well, it's college. My classes are all over the place in when they start and end. xD ))

Adrian tried to duck out of the way, but his wings had finally proved to be a hinderance, even more so now that they were bound. He was almost in the clear when gravity proved it was faster, the pillar pinning his wings to the ground and pulling him down in the process. "s**t!!" he cried as he struggled to get free, his face wrenched in pain. Maybe he should have stayed in bed longer...

"And now you're dead." Amaya muttered, crouched over him with her shadow pointed in a spike at his head. "Still, good job. Kept me on my toes." She told him as she pulled the shadow back onto her undamaged arm and pulled the pillar off Adrian's wings. "Your wings okay?" She asked, now feeling a little bad, though her knuckles didn't look much better as blood dripped from her finger tips.

((Annnnnd time for bed.))

"Ow, dammit! No...no, those are definitely broken..." Adrian hissed in pain, attempting to spread his wings but immediately pulling them back in. "Just smashed the very ends, but smashed 'em pretty bad...I think I need to work on non-aerial combat, since I'm going to be grounded for a while..." he said as he reached back and gingerly felt around the injured areas. "Then again, I'm amazed they've stayed this in tact for this long."

(Hate to interrupt your description, but Valliex has just entered the arena. New to the being an owner therefore she wouldn't know everyone automatically as its not one of those daily owners that watch constantly....so, in other words, she wouldn't recognize her)

Valliex leaned back against the stand behind her, propping up her legs as she stretched out her arms as well. In the back of her mind, she wondered what all would happen in the near future. Nothing was set in stone, after all....Val then sighed, her eyes wandering to the sky briefly. Missing her snake around her neck yet reminded herself how he had to remain with her 'monster' just in case. Her eyes soon back to the sparring match after a few more moments, every so often glancing to the sides seeing what else she could from the stands point of view. Chuckling as the match came to a close, almost smirking at the result. A slight spark as the boy's wings were damaged, noting the wounds slightly yet apathetically.

(Sry for all the short replies really =/

And lucky you Zelly ^ ^ woot woot for college)
