Rivera started to chuckle. "Return to the infirmary? I think not, and as for you giving me an injury of your own making. That won't happen." When she stopped talking Rivera licked Zellik's face and smacked his hand away, rearranging her cloak. "As for you, Zellik, you're in a very dangerous position, my shadow. Bending a persons shadow is one thing, but seeing as your in mine, i could cause many, many bad things to happen, but I won't. Seeing as we need you for this... Hunt. Now, we can settle this fight later, or we could forget it and take all our pent up anger on this poor creature that decided to invade like a wimp instead of a frontal attack. Now, is everyone coming or am I to hunt this thing on my own?" With that she turned to walk to the mess hall, Riven at her side.

Alothus sat there with his mouth agape. He had never seen anything like that happen before in all his time at the Colosseum. HE would have never done it. Ever. "I... Think i'll walk with you, Miss Evangeline..."

Nick touched down on the ground, his swords disappearing. After he had charged Allen had attempted to block him but Nick just flipped over it and used the dull side of his sword to hit Allen in the head, knocking him unconscious. Nick looked at the man on the ground, sprawled spread eagle. "Weak." Nick then turned and walked back into the preparation room, taking up his usual spot in the corner.

Zellik felt the color drain out of his face as Rivera walked away, and his mind similarly emptied of all conscious thought at the same time. He wasn't sure how to react to what she did. Should he be angry, shocked, surprised? Was it wise to fly into a blind rage and take out his new humiliation on the fighters around him? All he could do was stand in place after his open hand fell back to his side and stare at the open doorway with his mouth open.

Milla was relieved that Nick's opponent had only been knocked out. Olaf had been the only one who'd shown no mercy to his foe. But this had only been the beginning round. She knew that later no one would be able to leave the arena unless the other was dead...Unless there were different conditions than gladiatorial combat.

Lyall also stared after Rivera, but instead of going numb like the Champion thousands of thoughts and possibilities passed through his own mind. "Dammit!" He swore as he reached up and undid the hidden clasp of his cloak, and let it fall to the ground. It was sentimental to him and he preferred it whole rather than repaired. He also let the paper with the names of the the warrior's on it drop. "That's a good idea, leaving. You all need to leave now." His demeanor wasn't as calm as it had been before. If anything, it was just beginning to crack as shown by his sped up talking and the way he began to run a hand through his hair. He'd dealt with Zellik on many an occasion but the stress never seemed to lessen. As the fighters stared at him in as much confusion as Zellik probably felt, Lyall grabbed the half-orc's wrists and held them together tightly. "Everyone will go to the mess hall, staying there for now while the Weeping Angels organize groups of the chosen hunters."

Rivera walked with her hands clasped behind her back, humming a song from her childhood. it was called, The Angler and The King. (An Angler is a type or river minster from where she's from) "And the Angler swallowed the King... Showing him what he's some both wrong, and right..." The song had several deep deep meanings. Rivera knowing all of them. She wondered how Zellik was doing, her headache had been mounting and when Zellik had gotten in her face she had snapped, she usually licks peoples faces when they get in her face, but she supposed slapping his hand had been a bit much. She did feel better though. "Then the King fought his way out of the Angler's stomach and when he emerged the city rejoiced seeing their beloved King once again...." She entered the mess hall and sat down at a table, and waited for the others.

Alpha was pacing violently, furious that the warriors weren't here yet. Rivera had entered but she was busy humming, and Alpha had no intention of talking to her yet, he was to mad and didn't want to snap until everyone was here. He was about to drag them all here by force in the next five minutes if everyone didn't hurry up.

Alothus, worked on moving everyone out of the room, occasionally bumping someone along. "Miss Evangeline will yo show them the way? We need to be at the mess hall as soon as possible."

Evangeline only chuckled at all the commotion that was going on. She would have been surprised as everyone else if she did not already know that it was just who Rivera was. She stood while Alothus gathered everyone and she wondered why everyone seemed so tense all of a sudden, and it confused her. She gently held onto Alothus' mane as she waited for everyone else to be sure they would follow them. "Alright everyone the fun part is soon to begin." Evangeline laughed and began walking through the halls with Alothus and the others in tow. After a few minutes of turning, they arrived to an agitated Alpha. Evangeline waived her hand and sat herself beside Rivera. "Good afternoon Alpha, how is everything?" She asked jokingly, knowing that nothing was okay for the angel right now.

Milla lagged behind the group of untested and tested warriors, preferring to sink into her own thoughts rather than try to strike up a conversation with one of them. Evangeline and Rivera seemed nice, and Olaf too, wherever he had wandered off to, but she wasn't sure how to approach them and start a conversation. It was far easier to walk by herself and listen rather than speak up.

When she entered the mess hall, the banshee quietly took a seat next to Rivera, who'd already gone on ahead, and peered at Alpha through her dark hair.

"Alright Zellik, now that everyone's gone I can deal with you." Lyall mumbled to himself despite the fact that he knew the champion could not hear him. Talking to himself was a habit that had developed years before. It eased his loneliness, although he wondered if there was ever a moment that he was truly alone in his thoughts or otherwise. With a nod of his head, the door to the room shut and bolted itself and the one on the side of the window-wall opened by unseen magic. He adjusted his grip on Zellik's wrists, prepared to pull his claymore off of his back, but as soon as he removed one hand the half-orc whirled around and launched him at see-through wall. Rather than hitting it and bouncing off, Lyall flew through it, dislodging the bricks in a small hole and feeling pain creep up his back.

Zellik flipped the blades on his gauntlet down and stalked out of the room into the arena where a scheduled with between two fighters was going on. Not all of the fighters at the Colosseum had applied for the actual tournament for his title and this was merely a distraction to him. His breath came in hard bursts as he sighted one of the two confused warriors and made a beeline for him. The crowd roared louder, thinking that this was a special treat for them.

But Lyall knew the truth of the entrance, and the inevitable ends to the poor fighters. The shine of the grimoire's blade as he reached back and unsheathed it quickly disappeared as its form shimmered, becoming a large, bound book that stopped to float in front of him. The dark leather covers opened up welcomingly and Lyall passed a hand over the surface of the pages, mentally telling it what page to flip to and land on. The scream of the first warrior rang out as he barked out the first words of the spell staring up at him, and the angered yells of the second cut-off as a solid, dark gray dome formed itself over the arena, shielding the disappointed crowds' eyes from the battlefield.

"How is everything? HOW IS EVERYTHING?!?!? My champion, my star warrior is having a mental breakdown, MY Colosseum has been invaded my multiple creatures, my warriors are taking their sweet a** time and you ask me HOW EVERYTHING IS?!?!?!?" It came out as a roar, showing the true storm behind Alpha's snarling face. His eyes spoke of murder, with a deep breath he regained himself. He jumped right into what they would do. "You will be split into teams, you have no say in the matter, your teams have been pre-picked. Rules, you CANNOT kill your teammate, any killing of your team member will result in your death. As for the infiltrator, we now have word that there are several, you can kill them on site, if you wish, or you can capture them and bring them to us for disposal, either way they die." Alpha scanned the room without moving his head in the slightest, whether someone blinked or not. "Any further questions?"

Rivera gave both Evangeline and Milla a hug as they sat with her, but she continued to hum her songs. "Oh, Alpha when do we set out?" The Angel ignored her. "Hmpf..." she sat back against her chair. "Well now, we'll have to know sooner than later..." she mumbled.

Alothus flopped in the floor next to Evangeline, he wanted no part in this but supposed he had no choice in the matter, so he'd preform to his fullest. He wondered who would be paired with who, but he decided to stay quiet, Alpha would get there when he got there, and since he, Alpha, had cussed he was in no place for the Angles wrath to point to himself.

Olaf smiled. The whole situation was irrelevant now. Now it was time for honor to win over rage. He calmly followed the champion through the hole he had created, ducking so that he himself may fit where the champion had broken through. As he stood at the entrance he saw the blood of the other champions, who had simply wanted to their fight, but met their end at the champion's hand. "I will no longer be participating in the eradication of the creatures within the stadium. There is a far more important matter at hand." He said his words to the people behind him and began to walk towards the champion. "Blind Rage is no way to fight! I will show you the true strength of a warrior!" As he bellowed his words at the champion he drew his blades with a smile, the sica in his left and the gladius in his right. Instead of charging towards the champion he waited for a reaction. The rage would be his downfall.

((Oh hey, you're back! -Ish. I was just about to reply and refreshed the page.))

Milla was surprised when Rivera gave her a hug and was unsure of how to respond to it. In her indecision she stayed silent. She did wish that she knew how to respond to a spontaneous gesture of affection. When Alpha ask if anyone had any questions, she raised a gloved hand. "Might we know what these creatures are, so that we can know them from afar?"

Lyall stepped out of the half-orc's range of sight just as Olaf made his appearance, his grimoire floating after him. It was actually a good thing that someone had stayed behind. Subduing Zellik normally took a good amount of effort and time but with someone else to distract him it would be far easier to do so. "Let him play it out," he called over to the warrior. "Once he's slowed down I'll take care it from there."

Zellik's red eye blazed as he turned to face Olaf with a wicked smile. During any other fight he would have taken up his bardiche but as it was he didn't care. Anger fueled him and his actions, disregarding any rational thoughts that would have overruled any rash decisions he might make. Reaching down, he grabbed one of the broken bodies by his feet, accidentally stabbing into it as well. After giving it a single glace he spun on his heel and let it fly towards Olaf, chasing quickly after it with one hand going low and the other from the side.

Olaf shook his head in response to Lyall. "I fight for keeps. If you want him alive, you'll have to restrain us both." The champion's rage made him go into a fury, and his first reaction to the challenger was to throw the deceased, or severly wounded fighter with all his might. Olaf balked at the idea, and with one quick sweep of his galdius upwards, the body was in two pieces, blood splattering on and around him, one half on each side of Olaf. By the time this was accomplished the champion's sprint had broght him within range, and Olaf simply broght his gladius down in a powerful over-head strike down upon him. Expecting the champion to block the blow with one of his gauntlets, the half ogre made a stab towards the stomach of his attacker with his sica in the same moment he brought the gladius down. Hopefully in his rage the champion would be oblivious to the bent blade, and allow his gauntlet to be caught with in it. Should this happen Olaf would sweep the hand away and raise his left foot for a kick into the same area he aimed for with his blade. Should the blade be caught on the wrong side, he would simply be forced to break contact by jumping backwards, probably resulting in a cut to his own stomach or chest area. Though in his enraged state, it was uncertain if the champion would even react in a manner that most warriors would, which meant there could be more damage done. Unfortunately with his hands in motion there was nothing left to do except let the blows play out, and plan his next ones accordingly.

When Alpha stayed Rivera burst into laughter. "So you really don't know? Oh fantastic!" She sounded like she meant it, which she did. "Makes it more fun, ya know?" She grinned as Sahara spoke.

"What we are dealing with are shadow walkers and wall fazers. we haven't been able to catch a true glimpse of them, which is why we need y'all to help in this hunt. This is your Colosseum as much ours. Protect it. Some of you may die in this, but not all we expect none to but anything can happen." Sahara said this calmly, Angel like as to not disturb many, "I know it sounds hopeless, but it's not, you are more flexible and this is an advantage."

Alothus' ears were flat on his head. He didn't like the sound of this but it had to be done he supposed.
PostPosted: Sat Sep 15, 2012 7:44 pm
Lyall sighed, although he was not wholly surprised at the newest delay. The chances that a warrior like Olaf would willingly pass up an opportunity for a fight were low. In truth, it didn't bother him. Perhaps it would be for the best. He glanced at the waiting grimoire and the aged pages began to turn by themselves once more. A simple distraction would be able to pass through the champion's lowered defenses once the other had wound him down a bit, and then restraining Olaf would be easily done if he was still up after that.

Zellik bellowed as every step brought him closer to his enemy, his eye gleaming with a certain battle lust that only showed when he was not fully in control of himself. His fighting instincts remained, though, ones that kept him alive no matter what state he was in. The gladius on the edge of his vision did not worry him in the least, it could be dodged or even blocked had Olaf not had the sica. The second blade did not escape attention and therefore posed more of a threat aimed for his vitals as well as being in the way. His gauntleted hands, the left going low and the right sweeping in from the side, did not have much time to be adjusted to effectively disarm his opponent. So he tried to improvise as best he could. The half-orc raised his left hand enough so that the blades attached would catch the sica in-between them; as soon as the sound of metal-on-metal filled his ears he would twist his wrist to lock the blades in place and yank inwards towards himself. With his right hand, he stabbed upwards to block the downward chop. Thinking it already won, he continued the last of his charge as he executed his swipes with a half-step and lowered his head, hoping to either knock down Olaf or headbutt him

Milla shifted uncomfortably in her seat. Maybe her newfound ability would come in handy with stopping the intruders from wandering away. But it was mainly the thought that the Angel had referred to it as "your Colosseum" that had her all jittery inside. It seemed to lock in the fact that she was not getting out of there easily...

Olaf simply, twisted his body, releasing his grip on the sica as Zellik pulled. The twist in his body forced the champion to run past Olaf. The tactic did not have it's difficulties, as it left the hand poised to block the gladius free to scrape across his chest, but in nothing more than a glancing wound. A normal person would have felt the sting, but all Olaf felt was blood rushing down his chest. With amazing poise, the twist became a turn, in which Olaf raised his gladius to his ear and released it in a spiraling throw. As he did not have time to make the proper footing, the throw was a little wild. Mostly on target, but he could not be certain what part of the blade would make contact, assuming the champion did not turn in time. As both the turn and throw finished, Olaf immediately pulled the trident from his back and loosed the net from is hips. Again he waited for the champion to charge, the trident in his right hand and the net in his left. Knees bent, the half-ogre waited once more for a charge from the champion.

Zellik did not stop running headfirst until he'd gone 10 feet away from Olaf. For a moment, the sica stuck inside of his claws demanded his attention. It had actually worked. Then he felt a spike of pain in his left shoulder as the gladius hit and bounced away to clatter in the dirt. It hadn't felt like it had stuck in too deep, so he didn't worry about it. The champion turned around slowly, his violent grimace becoming a grin. Olaf was effectively disarmed of two weapons, despite having two more already in his hands. With a chuckled, the sica came out of his gauntlet with a metallic shing!, and he gripped it in one large hand.He wagged it back and forth teasingly at the enemy, but made no other actions.

"I suppose we should get on with it then, seeing as two people don't seem to be coming for a while. You'l be in groups of two, you are not allowed to kill your partner! No matter how much you hate them! If you kill them, I'll know, and you will be punished!" Alpha growled. "Now, partners will be: Alothus and Evangeline, Nick Ashford and Allen Taren, and as for you, Milla, Rivera, you have to wait for your partners to arrive."

Alothus nuzzled Evangeline's arm, glad he liked his partner.

Rivera growned. "Really, REALLY! You're putting me with HIM! We-"

"YES! Miss Rivera, you will be with the champion and you will DEAL WITH IT!" Alpha Roared at Rivera, not caring. "And you will both DEAL WITH IT!"
