**When It Pains, It Roars** (finished)

((...? I'm so confused...))

((I take it this doesn't happen often? xp ))

((No... Not really...))  

[WritingWithLove]

((Back to our regularly schedualed program, then? sweatdrop ))  

[Fenrir Shade]

((Um... Yeah. Like nothing ever happened.))

Fenrir quickly changed subjects, "So we still have over three hundred flavors of ice cream to go, shall we continue?"

"Only if you think you're up for it!" she teased in response. She chuckled and grinned. You know, he's pretty cute! she thought without any preface. She shook it off and batted her eyes at him.  

[Fenrir Shade]

"Well, the night is still young, so let's get started." he replied, giving her a warm smile. He walks back into freezer and begins filling another bowl.

She really liked his smile. It was very sweet and subtle. She felt something in the pit of her stomach that she had never felt before, and she wondered if it correlated to him somehow.
"Fenny, you got any other cool facts about yourself? Like, can you lick you elbow or somethin'?" she asked, half serious and half joking.  

[Fenrir Shade]

"Well..." he sticks his elbow into a shadow, and out through one near his head, and licks it, "Ta-da!" he exclaims, taking a bow.

Briar laughed and smiled. "No fair! That's cheating!" she said as if she was a child, "You gotta do it like this!"
She desperately tried to lock her elbow, but whenever she got close, she ended up laughing. "I can't believe I'm doing this!" she chuckled. Eventually she gave up, but she wasn't done yet; she was too competitive to let him win so easily.
"Hey, staring contest! GO!" she chanted as she began to stare into his gaze withou blinking.

Fenrir laughs with her, on the verge of tears when she sprung the surprise staring contest on him. His eyes were still watery so he knew he couldn't win. So why not cheat? He blows a puff of air into Briar's eyes.

"Cheater," she said without flinching, "You're gonna have to try harder than that to win this one!" Briar was used to staying perfectly still for hours on end.
After a while, she noticed how pronounced Fenrir's eyes were. It seemed easy to get lost in them. "Hey Fenny, anyone ever told you that you got nice eyes?" she asked somewhat flirtatiously, but mosty sincere.  

[Fenrir Shade]

He couldn't hold his eyes open any longer, he had to blink. And blink he did. "Aaah! Dang! You win! But no, you're the first to point that out to me. Thank you. Anyone ever tell you that same thing? I love the shade of green."

Briar blushed and replied, "Uh, n-no, actually. I've had them compared to vomit several times, but I can't say I've had anyone compliment them before... You really like them?"
Come to think of it, she couldn't think of anyone complimenting anything about her before. Well, there was the usual "Nice rack" kinds of comments, but she didn't count those.
