Cynthia smiled at him and drew him in for a brief hug and a kiss on his surprised cheek, "Of course I remember you, Aeri... My dance with you under the moon- and star-light was one of the best I've ever had... I am so sorry to hear about Carrow and even sorrier that I missed the chance to see him once more. I'm still not sure who followed who around when the two of you were young," she said softly as she pulled back and simply held his hands in hers for another brief moment.
Then she knew she had to step back to Lareth, his hand possessive at her waist helping her stay on her feet. She knew she was pale but most of her bruising had faded already, leaving the worst of her wounds internal and not noticeable unless one knew what to look for.
She helped the distraction by smiling at Aeriolous, "You've grown nicely, Aeri... Though I find myself surprised that you haven't chosen a bride yet," she teased him a bit, knowing that it would keep him from noticing that she needed help to stay upright.

"Ah yes the dances we shared is something I will always remember and keep close to my heart." He could see Lareths hand on her waist tightening some as the king did not like what he was hearing.
Aeriolous smiled as he was making Lareth jealous.
The drow king ran a hand through his hair.
"I am sorry Carrow did not get to see you as well. When I last spoke with him, he always mused about trying to find you and see how you were. See if you would dance with him before he was to marry...."
Aeriolous shook his head.
"For the longest time, I think we followed one another around. I followed Carrow, but he in turn was following me he said....like an endless circle we just ran around one another."
Aeriolous blushed when she mentioned bride and he laughed. "Oh, I am much to busy to look for a bride.....besides, I think the one I wanted when I was younger is already taken......her escort is trying to set me on fire with his gaze right now...."

Lareth knew a flirt when he saw one as he was one himself. He usually enjoyed the drows company, but seeing him flirt with Cynthia, irritated him. It also didn't help with that last statement about marriage. He held Cynthia close as she was moving against him slightly to lean on him as she was tired. Lareth helped distract as well by holding her close and kissing her cheek as he glared daggers at Aeriolous.
"Yes she's taken. Go find another.
Lareth bowed his head to Malag and then to Amity and spoke to her.
I am sorry for your loss Amity and please accept my heartfelt condolences."
He looked to Aeriolous "Do you mind if we go and sit? I have been out in the fields today and my feet are a bit tired.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Aeriolous bowed.
"Sorry I forgot my manners. Please come this way."
Aeriolous lead them to their honored seats along with Amity. Once they were seated everything began.
Aeriolous spoke giving a spoken word of his brothers life from the time they were children, to the time of the great war of when he thought his brother gone forever, to the time they were reunited in the elven realm. He spoke of how heroic his brother was when they were attacked and how his sibling died with honor.
Then he let Amity speak about her time with her former fiance. It took some time as it was hard for her, but she said all she could and even smiled through her tears as she commented on how wonderful he was even though their time together was brief.
After all that, a viewing of his brother was held and soon they lowered him into the ground and said their final goodbye.
Aeriolous looked to the crowd gathered as they placed the last bit of earth on top of him.
"Even though he is gone, we shall remember him fondly and move on, for as he always looked to the future, so should we. Tonight we honor such a great man of our people. Let us feast and celebrate his life!"
The drow cheered and the party began.
As people began to either eat or dance along with music that started he walked back to Lareth, Cynthia, and Amity.
Amity was in no shape to dance so he asked Cynthia.
"Would you like to dance my lady?"
Lareth looked to Amity. "Are you alright? SHall I get you something to drink?"
Cynthia spoke her own words during the funeral, remembering fondly how two drow children had reminded her that life was simply to be enjoyed and each moment cherished. She spoke of Carrow teaching her the steps of one of the more complicated drow traditional dances and how she stumbled through it even though he simply continued to teach her until she'd learned it.
When it was over and Aeriolous asked her to dance, she noted that it was one of the slower pieces and agreed, giving Lareth's cheek a kiss before she let the drow king lead her to the dancing area.
As she was lead into the first steps, she knew she wouldn't be able to do much of this. And that Aeriolous would soon be able to tell that she wasn't as 'whole' as she seemed. But she trusted him not to say much about it.
Instead, she gestured to Amity speaking with Lareth with a nod, "I have a feeling that he'll manage to get her to dance. I give it two songs before she's out here dancing with him... And that she'll ask you to the floor for the next one..." she teased him with a small wager as a distraction from the fact that his hand was currently over the back of the special corset she was wearing.
But the wagering was something she used to do with his parents during celebrations like this and everyone had found it entertaining to see who would win the good-natured wager over who would be pulled into the celebration by whom. No forfeits were declared, just simple wagering and counter-wagering.
As he swung her through a particularly intricate turn, it took all she had in her not to gasp as her insides twinged at the activity that left her a bit more pale. But she was determined to enjoy at least one dance with Aeriolous and offered him a small smile as she remembered that dance they'd shared so long ago when he was but a boy and she looked exactly as she did now, though probably less pale.
Cynthia gave him a warm smile as he whispered to her, knowing exactly what he was doing as he moved her through the dance expertly. Only he and Lareth would know the strain the dance was putting on her and she was grateful for that, "We'll dance the Moonlight another time, Aeri. And do it properly at that," she told him with a grin, remembering how she'd kept stumbling over the steps the last time she'd tried it and they'd wound up doing more laughing than dancing.
But she knew she'd have to say something about her injuries, knowing that he deserved that much, "Someone was after me again. He managed to get hold of me and hurt me pretty badly but Lareth saved me. He and Hal are both taking very good care of me. Hal even designed the special corset I'm currently wearing that contains specialized herbs that will help me heal and keep everything contained. I'm still a few weeks away from full recovery, but I'm doing much better than I was. I promise." she explained, hoping he'd take that and go to Lareth for a better explanation later.
The song finally ended with her dropping into a deep curtsy as he bowed over her hand, her emerald skirt pooling around her before he helped her back up and escorted her back to her seat beside Lareth, "You're only fooling Lareth with your flirting at the moment, you know," she added in a very soft whisper as she kissed his cheek before they got back to the seats and she gratefully sat down.
She leaned into Lareth with a teasing wink, "Are you trying to get the poor woman drunk Lareth? I didn't think you had to resort to alcoholic beverages anymore..." she teased him, reminding him of their last Beltane celebration together.
Cynthia gave a soft laugh at the reply she got and winked at Amity, "Well then, why don't you see about taking her out for a dance? We'll debate the benefits of alcohol later, lover. And I think it'll do her good to get out there with you before any of the other drow get to her," she suggested, not entirely teasing either.
She leaned in closer to him so that Amity wouldn't hear what she said next, "As Carrow's widow, it's tradition for everyone to dance at least once with her. The point is to get her moving and even laughing if they can, to remind her that life hasn't ended with his death. She may even receive a few marriage proposals over the next few weeks if Aeriolous doesn't suggest otherwise to them," she whispered to him, her clear green eyes pointing out the other drow males focusing on Amity without trying to be obvious about it.
